I'm so grateful for videos like this. The mechanics and several enthusiasts will tell you that you need a new transmission at the first sign of a transmission issue. Please everyone research well before taking the first advice. Especially Nissan Sentra drivers.
This is true. Facts. I have a 2016 Sentra S. I’m on my 3rd CVT transmission. Luckily Nissan has been great (kinda shocking) & working with my warranty company and have replaced both transmissions fully covered the cost. All I came out of pocket for was 2nd replacement labor after it reached labor cap. It was $339. I believe the 1st replacement was just faulty. Bc it only lasted 4K miles. But the 2nd one has been great. Zero issues. I got 158k miles. Bought the car new. First transmission went at 77K miles. But the current one now is going strong. I followed Nissans recommendation and did a clean & flush at 35k miles on it. Anyways, I just wanted to comment and say buy a the best warranty you can if buying a Sentra or any Nissan with CVT’s. 6:15 pm
OK, your video was extremely helpful. I'd like to add that disconnecting the harness gray connector on top of the transmission before usncrewing part, makes jobe a lot easier, because valve body slips out. The harness is a screw on and adding a little wd40 and gently tapping with screwdriver removes it real easy. also access to the oil dipstck is a lot easier is f you connect funnel thrught the removed tire panel. reason to remove this part appears on scanner as a selenod either in open or closed position and basically car not fuctioning because transmission will not do its job. Potential savings... thousands of bucks, Mechanich ill tell you that you need a new tranny and will probably just replace assemby. Good luck to all.
I also have Nissan 1.6 CVT J10 Qashqai scanner tells me Solenoid 1 Not showing a reading & car will not drive forwards but it will reverse. I will order a valve body or can the solenoid be replaced??
Greetings...... I just change the Valve body and didnt work, the transmission work totally out of the normal functionality..... do I have to re-progaming in the computer?
Definitely over-refilled. Shouldn't have taken more than 4.5qt with proper procedure. Like the video though. It's the first fix that I'd seen for the 16-19 sentra. Id seen for 2014 but was searching for a 2019 model. Thanks.
I got a p0746 code 2013 Nissan Sentra what can I do to fix it ? I put new solenoids in valve body no change ? Could my metal belt be faulty????thanks for a reply
1. The transmission is gone. All the hairy stuff is metal shaving sticking to the the magnet. The gears are tore up. 2. CVT transmission do not use ATF fuild they use CVT. No way it fixed

What symptoms did you have prior to changing the valve body? Also, how did you unplug the valve body wiring plug from transmission?

Did you have to do to perform any computer programming for the new valve body?
No CVT programming just clear all the code when you finish the installation ...
How much did you pay and where did you get your Control Body Valve?
But did it fix the problem? & what was the problem?
Safety first ❤️
I have a P0967 code on my 2015 nissan sentra. I'm not even sure if this video helps me.
That code also indicates a malfunctioning valve body. Did you try this repair for your car?
The most important question was not answered in the video. Did it fix the problem? And what exactly was your problem to begin with?
Sorry for the long wait but to answer yes also service with a new trans fluid please twice
Ratio control valve had spring on it!
What about the transmission fluid low code
Thank you for this ...
You are welcome
Did it work?
What happened after that? Have you resolved the problem?
reset the code and go for a test drive ...
There is a lot of fluid in the the torque converter
Did changing the valve body correct the problem? Is it running good?
yes
How do you remove plug that’s the main thing smh 🤦🏾♂️
remove the round plugs first and two on the middle also after unplug the wire connection on the side where to filter located ...
i have the same car, and i have high 3RPM at 120Km is it normal ?
Where did you bought the new one?
Nissan dealership I believe for $339.00

@@blackston22 did you call them or go into the dealership?
Hi, i have a nissan sentra with cvt problems, is the car you replaced the valve body on still running?
Yes still running
Did anybody notice he put regular automatic transmission fluid in a CVT transmission? I think he’s gonna have problems in the future.
It said CVT on the oil he used. He's good...
Regular fluid is red
You don't have to perform any programming just use a professional scanner to erase the code
