As s teenager in the 80s collecting Topps football card sets I was even drawn to this era of football. I completed a 72 football set and longed to find a 65 Namath. Pure football. Grateful Paul Brown started the Bengals. Ken Anderson was my idol in 81.

Bring up the 1967 Bills highlight film ; they crashed and burned, but there is good footage of a late season win at Fenway, including pick sixes from Tom Janik (future Pats punter) and Marty Schottenheimer, who was a Bills LB.

Nothing like seeing the Patriots bounce around from stadium to stadium during the 60s in the city of Boston. They made the AFL Championship in 1963 ( I believe) and got pounded 56 to 3 by the Los Angeles Chargers. They became the New England Patriots in 1970 when the AFL and NFL merged after Super Bowl IV. They appeared in Super Bowl XX against the Chicago Bears and got pounded 46 to 10. They got another shot in Super Bowl XXXI against the Green Bay Packers only to lose another 35 to 21. Then Tom Brady came along. Thanks Tom, the greatest quarterback to ever play in the NFL.
