Crooked Penny isn't that good for daily runs, unless you think getting a single penny adds a lot to your score, in which case you should have just taken mystery sack.
It's not necessarily "good" as in it helps you rack up points, but it's "good" as in it helps you getting potentially more items, meaning an easier daily (which means faster and less damage taken, so less point loss). Alternatively, you could risk it for consumable farming, but it's not as reliable as Jera Blank Card/Diplopia.
I just have no patience for him sacrificing the D6 for Crooked Penny when the D6 is definitely better for getting good items. CP's novelty is the only reason to take it, unless you just love losing consumables to get a single penny.

An equivalent line of reasoning: when you're like Bill Cosby and have your own TV show, then you have a right to tell him that raping someone is wrong. Egg knowing what's good and egg ranking well are entirely independent from each other.
If Egg goes to the library on floor 1 there is a 3 cent Joker card that takes you to a deal that has mom's knife. Run goes on easy mode after that. Edit: He did like a good egg.

Stop picking up items like Yum Heart, because you want to stop them from showing up later. Even though picking up items is a small penalty, the chance of Yum Heart popping up later is way worse
