When you think about it, with the introduction of Greed's Gullet granting extra heart containers to the Keeper, the new Keeper strat is to not pick up any money past 24 cents (or 49/74/98 cents, depending on your current money) once you fight Mom. With things like judgements aside, Greed's Gullet is such a massive upgrade for the Keeper that I would argue in most situations it would be beneficial to try to keep your money low so you might be able to utilize the HP upgrades, as opposed to stockpiling money that likely won't have much use.

The reason that you fire Brimstone when you enter the boss room is because you hit the space bar to skip the cut scene. It interrupts the charge.

FarmerMayhem its not spacebar that causes the shot to be used, rather the boss cutscene removes input from the arrow keys
