I sell cars and keep it real he is creating lay downs! “Easy sales” Not saying that in a bad way but an educated buyer is honestly an easy sale and usually very fun to work with. When I go to work I ALWAYS want to sell a car. I hope I make a good commission check but the MOST IMPORTANT thing to me is to meet some cool people who I can help out and have a fun time with. Those are ALWAYS the best day regardless of how much money was made.
I can't believe it. All this time I thought you were one of a few good guys in the car business. Here you are trying to scam your own wife by under valuing her trade in. Shame on you....LOL
A few years ago I was looking to buy a new truck. The guy used all of the sales techniques. He asked what payment I could afford. After talking about that for a while, I asked for the final price of the truck. I asked a few times and he would give me the run around. I never got the final price of the truck. I walked out because I wasn't comfortable. He lost a sale that day because of that. A few years later I test drove a new truck at a different dealership, same brand. I even told the salesman i probably wouldn't buy. After the test drive we went to his office and the first thing he did was list the price, current discounts and gave me a trade in value for my car. He then gave me the final cost. He treated me well. If I ever decide to buy a truck, I'll go back to that salesman or at least that dealership
The second one was professionally trained to provide you all the information to make an informed decision. Please refer the second guy all of your friends and family.
Car salespeople dont serve any real purpose, other than assessing the buyer and trying to steer them into spending the maximum amount of money they can possibly afford. Not really necessary part of "buying" a car. Put the damn price on it. Sell for that price. Done.
@@wecvgb9 Yes the price should be listed. Many years ago I went to a used car lot. There were no prices listed on any of the vehicles. I asked the salesman about the price of a particular car. I don't remember which car. I could sense the hesitation as he thought about it... "Hmmm I could let it go for ... $7,000" or whatever it was. He even bumped that price up a little when I suggested a trade in. I walked away quickly.
THANK YOU! Today during the silent walk around, I walked away and focused on the car I wanted and my decoy car I didnt want. I researched the vehicle! I had notes. I knew what my trade was worth. While outside the dealer , I offered 19500. They gave me two "offers " I said " take off that recondition fee and you have a deal". They tried every which way .I said no I wont budge. I got the car for a total of 21000. Excellent! Thank you
I've started looking for a car recently and I've noticed a lot of dealers around me having that no haggle one price type policy. I research their car and come to find out it's overpriced. Usually the miles are way to high for what they charge or there are problems with the internals.
@@TheRealMrJester What they're basically saying is 'take it or leave it.' When all the other dealerships in your area have the same policy, if you chose to leave it that could mean you end up having to ride the bus. Most people won't choose 'leave it' because they'll just get a car loan and increase the loan term until the monthly payment is something they're comfortable with and that is the auto industry today.
@@TheRealMrJester yes it’s very annoying. that’s why buying from private owners who just want a reasonable amount of money is far better than buying from a dealer.

Great video. Silence is still golden, especially when it comes to sales. Do not play your hand too soon. Let them talk and talk and try to give you their "best deal" and then tell them their best is not good enough and that is when you speak and discuss what you wanted your OTD price to be. Either they bend towards your offer or they break. They have to talk, you do not until you are ready.

“Your mods do not add value to your car” only applies to when your trading in your car. We know full well that a dealership will turn around and try to up sell that traded in “enhanced” car. Dealerships themselves “enhance” their new cars with aftermarket products, which adds value only when the car is new. Which is why, if you have a mod’d out car and want to get more for it, your best bet is private sale or selling it to a specialty dealership.
Was just going to say this, maybe majority of cars it's like this, but modded Jeeps for example have a huge market, and the mods do in fact bring value to your rigs
The amount of personality this guy has makes the videos so fun to watch. Binge watching all of his videos because I'm about to buy my first car from ford. Wish me luck!
Point to a car you want to buy, point to your trade, ask "How much a month, total, for 48 months (or whatever term you want)." When the salesman says you and he will have to go inside to figure it out, talk to manager, etc. give them your name and email address and tell them to let you if/when they can figure out what they are selling the car for. Tell them you are asking other dealers for the same figure and lowest price gets the sale.
I love how they talk down on your sales as if you’re not making money. Yet, you have multiple streams of income (clothing, TH-cam, etc.). So even if you don’t make much selling cars the moral and ethical way. You’re still getting the money you “missed out on” if not more. You reap what you sow🤷🏾♂️

It’s funny that the mods don’t add value, you check the ad for the vehicle you just sold and the thing the dealer lists first are the mods you spent thousands on!
Why is it that enhancements DON'T increase the value of my trade BUT, the dealers enhancements (add on's, beef-ups) ALWAYS increase the value/price of the dealers cars? Why? They are BOTH depreciating assets! Here's the deal, ...if you buy my car at wholesale, I buy your car at wholesale. It's that simple. If the dealer doesn't agree, I won't sell him my car and probably will not buy his. A used cars value is just that, it's real value. That number is the same if I'm buying/selling, if you're (the dealer)is buying/selling or the man (private individual) down the street is buying/selling. The cars worth/value is the SAME FOR EVERYONE involved. Nothing makes me walk out of a dealership faster than for the dealer to start talking about different values for a used car depending on who's buying/selling the car. If I did that in real estate I would be in violation of the law. If I buy or sell real estate based on who and what circumstances are/is doing the buying, I'd be locked up. Its called price discrimination. It matters not who is buying/selling, IT'S the SAME PRICE/VALUE for everyone involved regardless of who is "in the business" or, if it's a private seller, selling an item from his personal driveway. Wholesale prices for a used ANYTHING is nothing but a marketing scam where the seller feels they are entitled to more profit just because they are in "THE" business (or in this case because they own a dealership/car lot). I’m not a fan of the one price dealership at least in my area they’re all arrogant and my experience has been they are far from the best deal. Give me the traditional haggle deal anytime.
Can you tell us why we bring up the fees or costs we don't want to pay at the very end? Are there any terms we should or shouldn't use when saying we won't pay those fees or added costs?
I watched a few of Chevy Dudes videos and assumed he was empowering the customer until he says its common that most dealerships do not negotiate price anymore . I call Bullbutter!
Hey I came here from tic tok from your video about your Chevy truck that your giving away, I just wanted to say I followed your tic tok and you youtube channel and shared the video and I liked it, I really need a truck to help my dad out to get wood in the mountains
The biggest thing you left out is in a trade the only number that matters is the difference. Everyone should know what their trade is worth and then only negotiate the difference. This BS of no haggle prices is a joke last time I bought a new car that’s what the salesman told me that their prices are no haggle I said perfect here is my trade in I know it books for this much wholesale so here is MY no haggle difference long story short they made the deal. I knew what I had and what they had and knew what the difference was. That way no one got screwed it was a fair deal for both parties. Dealers now want it both ways no haggle price on their cars but devalue the hell out of trade ins that are clearly high book.
Your first mistake is walking into the dealership to negotiate. You want all that done via email/text/phone BEFORE you go in. When you go in you want that Buy Order all filled out (and sent to you beforehand) so all you have to do is examine/test drive your vehicle and then SIGN .
@@paulden3158 thanks ! I’ll keep that in mind for next time. I purchased a vehicle. 2021, “0 miles”, 4200 off sticker. No hidden fees, got 150 off doc fee. I think it went well for the knowledge I was able to apply.
@@Rafaelhrndzmost of the time they give u around 8% off MSRP but ideally you should be getting closer to 15-20% off MSRP. You want that OTD price as close to COST as possible (not just invoice). While trading in my vette the guy popped the hood and tried to tell me it was in an accident because the front fenders bolts were not exactly in the center of each hole. I had to say something because he was wrong. I was like "that means nothing the holes have extra spacing in them so you can do body panel line adjustments and not every fender is perfect from the factory so some are a little off center to make the body lines and panel gaps are where they need to be. I also mentioned how he already pulled the car fax and no accidents were on it. He just gave me a puzzled look and just nodded but in a way he knew he wasn't getting that on me.
Yeah I see his point of not saying anything, but let’s say if you don’t say anything aren’t they gonna bring it up later and still give a lower appraisal??
I have to ask can you do a video explaining buying a car right out instead of doing a lease or financial with the steps or is it better to lease the vehicle
Know your numbers, haggle every negotiable number, and walk if they try to steam roll you. Put your emotions aside and realize that cars are widgets and put the work in by having dealers compete. P.S. - Don’t seek advice from salesmen. They are not interested in you (just the sale). Caveat Emptor !
I just told dealer I was in no hurry & can wait- don’t give me needed trade $, I walk. They take car & didn’t ask anything, I was with sales guy looking at new car.
I've was at a dealership two days ago - gave the guy a hint of my car to trade. When we sat to consider a deal, I walked out. I made it clear to him and his manager that my bottomline is the price that we agree. 😊 it's really about one's awareness of what one has. And, videos like this help provide context and knowledge. Thanks!
I have never had a car dealer walk around my trade in with me they only ever ask what I am trading in and sometimes the miles and ask for the keys and where I parked and someone else just takes it. And they come back with a assessment. And if it’s to low when I’m negotiating they always come back at least twice with a higher value.
Salesmen in the comments were triggered! 😂 They’re guilty for ripping people off. I’ve been ripped off twice. As a young black woman at 19 and 21. Not this time. I’m watching all of these videos!
I’d say that dealerships don’t negotiate anymore because they know (or think) that the customers will pay these inflated prices due to the necessity of a vehicle.
Ask yourself an important question: Why am I buying a used car from a dealer? There is no good reason, unless the car is sold with a warranty or is certified pre-owned and that is important to you. Otherwise you are just being overcharged to pay for the business expenses and profit.
I've purchased at least 13 new. cars in my life time. not including about half a dozen /2 used. If there's one thing I've learned is to never ever, ever, ever, ever mention that you have a trade in. And if you do, save it till the e very end of the sale. Even if the sales rep asks you right from the beginning if you have a trade, say no. Because that's one of the first things a snake oil car salesman asks you. DO YOU HAVE A TRADR. So with that said. once you have your final numbers on the new vehicle you want and all said and done. Then HIT the snake oil saleman with the trade. He'll probably be pissed, but that's o.k. Tell him you changed your mind and you would like to trade in you old car. Now, the reason for holding off on the trade thing is because now the snake oil saleman can't fuk you over on the numbers of the New car and your TRADE. Trust and they will. How do i know this?? Is because i went with my mother to get her a new honda crv. And i was gonna use one of my old cars as a trade. First thing he asks us if we had a trade. We said no. So when all was said and done. Numbers where locked in , i hit him up WITH the trade. You can tell by the look on his face he was pizsed. Oh well to freakin bad. Im not there to give my money away. So he tried to pull the ole snake oil TYPICAL snake oil car saleman speach and said deal was already done. So i told him , you can't deny someone that has a trade. He had no answer for that. So i told him if we cant trade my car in WHERE going some where else. Well, Mr. Snake oil saleman couldn't get someone fast enough to look at my car. lol lol. To funny. So , again the reason for all this is , is so THEY cant screw with the numbers between the new car and trade in. Trust me, they pray on trade in's. I have friends in the Car business and this is what they do. They'll play a numbers game between the new car and trade in. And if you dont know the true value of your trade in they'll screw you big time Trust me. So again, never ever, ever, ever mention you have a trade in. Even if you do , AGAIN SAY NOTHING.
I will never buy a vehicle without my mom being there she was one of the best car salesman at ger dealership when she was in college and she negotiates like she still is a car salesman
Price does included applicable tax, title, license, and processing $ dealer service fee? Could you please also explain the Monroney sticker on the car. Also, how much will cost a Toyota sienna 2021 platinum AWD in a very good deal?
This and 99% of Mikes videos are completely factual. I’m a recently reformed salesman that has been through tons of the major dealership training classes across the south and We Do Talk All Day about knowing when to shut up and when to talk. They want you to be uncomfortable in the silence so that you just have to say something to break the silence, and then you lose. Last dealer I was at had a saying written on the meeting room wall. “The House Always Wins!” The silent walk around is also called devaluation and is a step in the road to the sale at every dealership. The modern dealership spends around $3,000 to train each salesman on their floor. Anyone whose bought a car knows how hard it is to get a car dealer to spend any of their own money to help you. But they willingly spend that on training. Because the house Always wins
I almost bought a 2011 ford expedition yesterday ,they are forcing to include the LoJack, at the end I told them $18,000 out the door but they counter $20,000 so we walked away, did we do the right thing? WE really like the truck it is super clean 70k miles expedition.
The only thing I don’t agree with is waiting and then asking if there’s wiggle room on a trade in. If you know what your vehicle is worth and they are seriously under valuing it, let them know. One dealership tried to offer HALF of the KBB value and what carmax actually offered. And said “unfortunately due to the high mileage”…. It has 16k miles… on a 2014. They were just being shady, and it’s ok to call a dealer out on that.

Good video, thank you brother!!
Hi Mike. Nice vid. Liked before watching because I knew it was going to be good
Thanks for sharing all this information 👌👌🇺🇸🇺🇸👏👏🇨🇴🇨🇴
Love your videos they help a lot of people out and you make really good content
I love his vids more
No Negotiating because they get you in finance dept Knowledge is Power Don't buy what you don't need and check the math!!
Dude, I love this. I'm a sales guy, I totally get it lol
Subscribed with notifs good luck
about to walk into a dealership like a boss
Your first mistake is walking into the dealership to negotiate. You want all that done via email/text/phone BEFORE you go in. When you go in you want that Buy Order all filled out (and sent to you beforehand) so all you have to do is examine/test drive your vehicle and then SIGN .
@@paulden3158 thanks ! I’ll keep that in mind for next time. I purchased a vehicle. 2021, “0 miles”, 4200 off sticker. No hidden fees, got 150 off doc fee. I think it went well for the knowledge I was able to apply.
@@Rafaelhrndzgood deal
@@Rafaelhrndzmost of the time they give u around 8% off MSRP but ideally you should be getting closer to 15-20% off MSRP. You want that OTD price as close to COST as possible (not just invoice). U do that by getting as many discounts as possible ie incentives, rebates, etc, basically you want to get rid of all their mark-ups, as many as they're willing to discount to get you the vehicle
I like your videos CD but would whole heartedly disagree on the one price dealership. I shopped one got a price ,checked other dealerships and low and behold the one price dealership came down more than a grand. pays to shop around
Hey Mike have a great day.
One of your best and most helpful videos to date.
Perfect. You're the expert but I've sold the last 6yrs!
Giving back to the people!
Its true...as a salesman
I hope u don't scam people
@@BobThe9534 nah...I dont...we usually sell ours under the market value
distant individual I would hope so
@@BobThe9534 like today sold a brand new 2020 Ford F150 Lariat SuperCrre with the 2.7 EcoBoost for $39,000.
@@BobThe9534 of course he did have a trade in which it was priced book value of 5,500 but we took it in for $7,500but our main target is for you to get your vehicle of choice
What are they asking you to sign? And what if you refuse? Do you only sign after the changes you want made?
Yeah I see his point of not saying anything, but let’s say if you don’t say anything aren’t they gonna bring it up later and still give a lower appraisal??
I have to ask can you do a video explaining buying a car right out instead of doing a lease or financial with the steps or is it better to lease the vehicle
Great video! Thanks for the new advice!!
Always enjoy your videos !
I just told dealer I was in no hurry & can wait- don’t give me needed trade $, I walk. They take car & didn’t ask anything, I was with sales guy looking at new car.
Also thanks for the great insider info!
The OBS is mine baby😎
How do you negotiate a truck that your going to order
SUCH helpful videos thank you!! So I’m guessing having the car mats in the car doesn’t increase the value at all if the car at all? 😬
My dealership has someone not involved in the deal do the appraisal. Makes it easier to deal with the trade related issues
Jeep guy here. Great video sir.
1:44 100% true. I’m in another line of sales (take a guess 😂😂😂).
Putting in that work for the k1500!
make a video on selling please
He should make a vid on a full interaction
95 k1500 sounding awesome as my first car🤣😱
The customer in the next booth overhearing this like...
Thanks chevydude, very cool!
Salesmen in the comments were triggered! 😂 They’re guilty for ripping people off. I’ve been ripped off twice. As a young black woman at 19 and 21. Not this time. I’m watching all of these videos!
is it “ripped off” or simple sneaky capitalism to make as much profit as possible? lol
Totally awesome. Hey did she tell ya about the mail box she backed over😄😄😄. Thank you for mums da word.
Do a video on trading in a vehicle and buying a used car.
Ayyyyy Chevy dude.
I’d say that dealerships don’t negotiate anymore because they know (or think) that the customers will pay these inflated prices due to the necessity of a vehicle.
Sure believe the car salesman
Ayyy Chevy dude let’s go
Ask yourself an important question: Why am I buying a used car from a dealer?
Thanks for sharing
Was I the only who busted out laughing with the dancing badger???" Wiggle wiggle wiggle woo"
25 years in the business never a salesman look at a used car until they had the customer landed on a particular
car and had a written offer.
I will never buy a vehicle without my mom being there she was one of the best car salesman at ger dealership when she was in college and she negotiates like she still is a car salesman
The vid was a real help
“The House Always Wins!”
The silent walk around is also called devaluation and is a step in the road to the sale at every dealership.
The modern dealership spends around $3,000 to train each salesman on their floor. Anyone whose bought a car knows how hard it is to get a car dealer to spend any of their own money to help you. But they willingly spend that on training. Because the house Always wins
I'm actually in the market for a truck now. Let me know if we can work out a deal! Thanks for the info!!
So talking to car salesman is like talking to police...don't answer unnecessary questions or you'll end up fucked
I do the silent walk around when buying new cars
Good Job.. 👍
He always does a good job
