Chris, I have the CRV Hybrid touring and the Clarity PHEV. Both cars are similar in that they are both electric most of the time with a gas generator that supplies power to the electric motors that drive the cars.. The engine only directly powers the car at high highway speeds, but very rarely. So the drone you're hearing is the generator boosting power through electricity generation and that's why it doesn't match the sound of the press of the accelerator. Not the most pleasant sound when pushed hard, but is entirely normal, and thankfully not all the time.
.... cold start - flooring the pedal - don`t understand transmission system and "the battery give instand torque" i think a lot of education missing here.
I have the 2019 Insight Touring which I love. During the summer I can easily beat the book numbers on MPG. Anything over 70 MPH and I'm doing book numbers or slightly less. My next car will be one of these :). There is an art to driving a Honda Hybrid but easy to learn if you know what you are doing. I hate not having a spare and yes, I had a blowout on the interstate. I had to get it towed and that is probably the biggest disadvantage. The best tire IMHO is Continental since they have an awesome manufacture warranty.
Your blowout is a nightmare scenario. Are you going to buy a spare tire kit to solve this problem? I like the CRV hybrid but no spare tire is troubling.

After you asking me this question today, I now know there are options. I don't see any OEM options but there are several or many aftermarkets ones. I need to highly consider it for sure. Yes, don’t really know the ratio to ratio, but always pump gas when you are getting close to empty(like a regular car) and let it do its own thing. Better mileage mainly.
Most flats can be fixed with the included repair kit. The odds of you having a failure that can’t be fixed in the middle of nowhere with no cell service is pretty unlikely for most people. Steel belted radials are pretty forgiving.

After 11 months of ownership I know I made the right decision.....super smooth vehicle with absolutely incredible gas mileage for an SUV. The last two month I've been averaging just a little over 60 mpg (Imperial) which is equal to 50 US mpg..... mixture of city & light highway driving (50 mph & under)

No. No turbo on this 2.0 hybrid. I have the EX-L hybrid and it's perfect so far. 40 mpg, mixed driving. That sound in EV is for others in the area or the blind, it's artificial Anna sounds like ghosts or angels.

10:35min. Unfortunate solutions of rear seat belts that they cannot be positionable as well as the driver or passing on the front seats. Characters with a smaller height of the belt cut the neck at the safety maneuver.
I test drove one recently. The roaring noise during acceleration was pretty loud so I just returned the car to the dealer and said thanks but no thanks.
The ONLY car I am holding out for......An all electric forrester........That will put the rest to shame....Especially if Subie has help from Toyota............Paul

No, there's nothing technically wrong with the vehicle, it's simply Honda's decision to use a CVT transmission for greater fuel economy leading to the loud ruckus. Definitely not a vehicle/transmission for me, after hearing that.
It uses a Ecvt much different then a CVT. The ICE can and will rev independently from the speed of the car since it may be running off the battery. The 212 hp figure is a bit misleading due to rev range.
That is the sound of a CVT transmission. It is not the same performance as the traditional transmission. :) CVT transmission sounds a little weird (at least what I think)

The CR-V hybrid only has 68.7 cubic feet of cargo space. It loses some from the normal CR-V because of the battery

If that was the case you would be doing 70-80+ MPG. Watch the schematic page on your MFD and find that truly is not the case.
We have a 2019 CRV and 2019 Rav4, both with the same trim level. CRV interior feels more upscale or better quality. Rav4 feels cheap or rental car ish
BUT the Rav4 hybrid gets incredibly better mpg than the CR-V hybrid...... not to mention has a spare tire & towing capabilities.

I have about 600 miles and have been getting 41-43 mpg. I drive in the Ev mode.

Not bad. But Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2 Turbo Diesel without hybrid can do 44.7 mpg.
