Suleiman loses Hatice after Hürrem. He gets devastated as Hatice dies in his arms. He loses hopes for finding Hürrem after Hatice. Suleiman loses his love within his sister. Suleiman sets off to campaign with the fire burning in his heart. Mihrimah takes the menagement of harem and forbids Sultana Şah to enter the palace.
Mustafa loses his dreams of the throne but he builds hopes again thanks to soldier's loyalty. Mahidevran takes an action to kill Mehmet. Mihrimah corners Sultana Şah. Bali Bey chases up the clue he has found. Suleiman who is proud of Mehmet's success gets devastated with the bad news received from Manisa. Suleiman who is on the brink of the abyss revives miraculously.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Actually in reality he didn't get chance to prove his abilities.. he was the only one who was assigned sanjak at the age of 22 .. too late ... And after one year he died... So basically he didn't prove himself .. by doing something independently

Yes, Hurrem haters say she was the only evil but act like mahidbran was some kind of saint. Mahidebran laughed and celebrated Mehmed murder but a Hurrem never celebrated Mustafas death.

The fact that Meryem Uzerli left the serie make all of us to lose incredable scenes and situations which happened in the reality and we do not see them in series. In first how Hurrem is reacting when she lost her first child and the second one is how Hurrem persuade Suleiman to not go with her sons , staying with him for her rest of her life. .
I thought it was so sad in the series when Suleiman went into Mehmet chambers after he died and saw images of his son as a baby, young boy, teenager and adult. The memories that Suleiman had of Mehmet were very sad. The most heart wretching, was seeing Mehmet as a ghost figure looking at Suleiman then bowing and smiled at his father as he disappeared. Very sad. Just as sad as when the doctors opened the door just after Mehmet had passed away, to see Mihrimah sobbing in grief and that somber music comes telling us something bad had just happened
It makes you wonder how Suleiman, Hurrem, Mihrimah, and his siblings really did feel when they heard about Mehmet? How close was it to the series? We know that Mahidervan was overjoyed in the series about Mehmet's death.(she probably ordered it!!)

They also should have featured Humashah since mehmet have a daughter named Humasha close as Mihrimah's daughter also named Humasha , it was written than it was Hurrem who took care of mehmet daughter after his death from the plague and was able to live longer and married 3 times.

Agree there are no consistency in season 4.
There are more : Mustafa got away with the fact he try to kill Hurrem and killed indirectly Afife Hatun, Rustem got away with the fact he killed indirectly Rumaysa while she was pregnant , the writers lead us to believe that Mercan Aga will be part of season 4 but he's absent (Sumbul ate him or what?),etc...
At this point of inconsistency we could expect aliens to invade the Ottoman Empire and try to kill Suleiman in agreement with the Shah and the Pope (at least that would have been funny).
On a more serious note, I liked season 4 (especially due to its share of tragedies and that we generally feel bad for any "side" when they have horrible losses;the idea that the Sultan is gradually losing his divine side in the eyes of the subjects ) but even then there were too many 'inconsistency.

I wasn't satisfied with how they portraited Mehmet here. Historically, he was Mustafa's equal, if not superior, both in warfare as well as administration and diplomacy. In other words, he had earned his spurs and Suleiman's love and respect. Only a fatal illness denied him his throne.
And what did we get to see; an insufferable and naïve Mr. nice guy who whines about how unfair life is for the big baby Mustafa.
Well, guess what, Mehmet; Life IS unfair! You win or you lose! You kill or you get yourself killed! You either eat or get eaten! That's the only law mature obeys and respects.
If you knew that, perhaps you wouldn't have ended up dead.

To be fair we don't know historically if he was the equal or superior than Mustafa. He died too much earlier before he make to have proven itself to manage a more difficult province like Amasya (Manisa was a very easy province and to give for a novice sehzade therefore "easy" to succeed there). And honestly considering the result of his two brothers Bayezid (do I really need to talk about his intelligence or more precisely the fact that he seems to lack it) and Selim (he didn't take much care of the way of governing the country even if he did a lot of charity and made sure his vizier was very competent, he got depressed way too quickly with all his misfortunes, he was was not made to be a leader even if the show demonizes him too much), I don't think Mehmed would have been the equal or superior of Mustafa even though he was portrayed as smart (after all until Mustafa died, Vizier Rustem hid his other sons' mistakes and only showed Mustafa's mistakes even though he is 100% sure that Suleiman encouraged Rustem to do everything to break Mustafa I said in other comments).
I suspect Suleiman of having deliberately raised incompetent sons (I'm talking about the ones he had with Hurrem; when in Hurrem she surely accepted him as she had not choice for stay in her good graces and avoid having her sons strangled this which is largely understandable) to ensure that if one day they rise against him, he could easily crush them (we had an example of this with Bayezid). Let's not forget that the historical Suleiman had endlessly been overthrown like his grandfather so it would not be a surprised if he did that.
When in Mustafa we knew that it was mainly his mother who took care of him instead of his governesses, so that's why he escape to be an incompetent sehzade ( but it didn't stop to make mistakes as it would be end to be strangled).
But that's just speculation on my part based on historical facts.
To the part of Mehmed to the show I am agree with you: a true disapointement , he was too much perfect... It was very boring. It would have be good to see instead a Mehmed ready to fight with Mustafa according to te law or a Mehmed who realize that his father is not the perfect man he imagine,etc..
Yeah. Mehmet deserved so much better from the show. And I"ll say it. The reason why he was done dirty was because of the writers' favouritism for Mustafa.
@@phoenixsultana So true. The show make a truly disservice to Mehmed ( and by the way Selim and even Bayezid and Mustafa). The favoritism of Mustafa was so annoying, that I became indifferent to him ( and it was a feat an achievement because Mustafa was the son of Suleiman that I appreciate the most historically, there he made boring for me because of this favoristm and the fact that the writers want us to worship and prefer it at all costs over his siblings ) . The sehzade the most interesting was very unintentional for the writers was Selim as he was the most complex.
I much prefer Mehmed and Mustafa as children they were much more interesting, endearing because they had much more tempers and flaws.

So no, don’t blame this on Hürrem. Just as Hürrem wants Mustafa dead, Mahidevran also selfishly wants any sons that could threaten Mustafa’s succession to the throne out of sight.
Mehmet was the closest son to Suleiman. He was the ideal successor, therefore he stood in Mustafa’s way even though Mustafa is the heir by being the firstborn living son.

Maybe because by that time Mehmed was the governor of Manisa for many years. Also, the pasha called mehmed the prince sultan. I do know that after Mehmed’s death, suleiman stated that he was the one selected to be the sultan but the show doesn’t show if he did so even before his death, and I don’t know if he did in real life neither 🤷🏻♀️

in history there was a prince named sehzade sultan mehmet. But i'm not sure it's Mehmet the son of Suleiman. Because when Mehmet II became prince, his father, Sultan Murad appointed him sultan, but due to pressure from the jannisaries, his father was re-appointed sultan and perhaps that is why he was called Sehzade Sultan Mehmed. And it also makes sense that suleiman gave the title of Sehzade Sultan to Mehmet, because suleiman appointed him as his successor. And none of Suleiman's sons had that title even though Selim was chosen to be Suleiman's successor.
