This is a dramatization of history, a lot of speculation and poetic license. In actuality the situation was sad but complex as Mustafa and Beyazed May Allah have mercy upon them both disobeyed the ruler in major areas and were forgiven them did it again.
Worst decision Suleiman took was of fall in love with hurrem. The witch. Hurrem the witch took every relation with Suleiman. His sister's. Ibrahim. Mahedevran. Mustafa. Prince Isabella. Everything.
No he did this to protect himself as suleyman always saw mustafa as a threat because the people and the army love him much more

@@moch1e I know very well, what happened that time, a father never killed his but a king do because a king had many females to gave birth of his more sons, and Suleman is not a father who killed his 38 years old son in his old age, because he wanted to protect his lover hurrem' s children and he wanted to kill Mustafa all the time but wanted a best chance, and if Mustafa wanted to kill his father he never visited to his camp and he never believed his father and he did atack on his father because all the soldiers were with him, Suleman never wanted to gave his Empire to a strong hire because he wanted that people always remembered him as a strong sultan not his descendants

After Prince Mustafá murder whole empire went into unrest first time in history of ottomans majority people want to see him Sultan most of governors, judiciary and government machinery and military want to see him Sultan after this murder most of capable people de seated, murdered or removed from key positions due to there likeness and sympathy for Prince Mustafá incapable people of Rustam and Hurrem circle appointed on top seats because of their loyalty towards them after it Ottoman dynasty went down to down and lost very key battle in Mediterranean just due to incompetente Naval command and for because previous Navy was Prince Mustafá side or aide Ottomans lost almost whole Navy in Battle of leptano in 1571 against España fact is that downfall of ottoman started from here Selim 2 and his son Murad 3 and his son Mehmet 3 were very incapable Sultan’s

Those who have seen the whole series know better hurrem Mihirma and Rustam did this , but what Mahedoura did??? She managed to kill Mehmat when he was sent to Manisaa and Mustafa was sent to Amasiya... Mahe doura asked Ali gul shair to kill Mehmat by hook or by crook and he did the same he killed him by adding deadly germs to his wound which caused Mehmat death... Terrible but KARMAAA 😢
So you find it right wrong with wrong and that has a innocent - in the case of Mustafa has to pay it. It's wrong what Hürrem, Rüstem and Mirihimah have done. And also keep in mind that it is historically wrong that Mahidevran should have killed Mehmet. He died at a disease.
U know that historically she left the palace when she gave birth to mustafa right ? And she didn't kill mehmet either this happened only in this serie
