@@Michael-no6jw Because there aren't very many bands that can pull it off. AC/DC sounded like they made very few mistakes live. Even when Angus would play a different solo, it was great enough that it actually sounded like a different studio take. There were many sloppy bands live back in the 70's. Most notably.... Zeppelin. Don't get me wrong, I think live Zeppelin were great. I think AC/DC had a great sound system as well. The mixer did a fantastic job with the soundboard. Practice makes perfect.

Angus is basically immortal as a mascot(and may be LITERALLY immortal). He was such a talented lead guitarist at such a young age(pun intended?) But he is so much more than technical proficiency. So much of his playing is texture; he has such a dirty, gritty, MEAN/cocky sound to his playing. And he has a humongous personality; who, then or now, has thought of getting on the edge balcony to shred??? He has been a great inspiration to me.

Just imagine being in the audience when a band you have never heard of comes out and plays this set. I mean these are still some of the greatest rock songs ever written 45 years on! Just unbelievable really that such an obscure band at that time could deliver classic song after song like this. Absolutely killer set and performance. But it is very strange to hear Whole Lotta Rosie without a single “Angus, Angus, Angus” from the crowd!

The Golders Green Hippodrome at that time was a BBC studio, not a proper concert venue; this was a gig set up for the TV cameras, not the fans. You can hear from the cheers that the crowd was small and was likely crew plus journalists and invited guests only.
Also, AC/DC at that time was not an obscure band that people had never heard of. They'd headlined the legendary Hammersmith Odeon only two days prior to this and had also headlined it nearly a year earlier. They were a well-known band about three-quarters of their way through a world tour of some 15 countries. They just were not yet the globally dominating band they would become a couple of years after this gig.

@@speeddemon9555 That is 100% the best. Those who do not "stray" usually play from "can" (lipsing). Only if the band "strays" you know you hear live. Unfortunately, according to one of my concert sound engineer pals, 99% of the bands play from master tapes and they don't bother to actually perform. That's how you never hear them catch cold, being overdosed on drugs, being tired, or just "not their day". And they all jump around like monkeys.... Real musicians cannot dance and play/sing at the same time. Record labels care to give circus performance to the clueless audience. Not real music. So they make you act like Angus (if you like the money, or else...). Or Madonna, or take your pick. Led Zeppelin are holy monsters. They set their own rules (plus they have their own label- that helps 😁...).
Try to find some interviews Frank Zappa gave many years ago. He spits many awful truths about the music industry that nobody wants to hear.....

You could make a Record out of this raw and honest conzert here, and it would be still more powerful and better played and sung, than many studiorecordings from other bands. It's easy to overlook what a great guitarist Angus was behind all his antics, how he played so precisely while doing all that stuff is truly amazing. Jimmie page could do no better standing still. Music critics have never taken AC/DC seriously. Their music is not intended to be but just to punch you in the gut and kick you in the balls, and no other band has done that better or likely ever will, except perhaps Muddy waters.
