Everyone knew and knows and yet the most macho metal guys ever took their style cues from a leather daddy who would walk on stage with a black bullwhip in his mouth. He transcends. He's God and GOAT all wrapped into one.
@@jerald4992 Rob is the gayest thing in Metal, and not only it doesn't matter - on the opposite, it helps blasting the useless over affected macho feel some metal stuff delivers - as it actually added strong identity to metal in general. Worth saying, the look based on black leather and metal Judas introduced to our universe, actually was Rob's idea, borrowing not less than "sadomaso" clothes from a sex shop, and having the band dressed with it in order to generate part of the agressive look and style of the genre - something later used by most extreme bands, like Destruction, Sarcofago, Slayer, and ALL the Black Metal scene. Amazing to think all that came from Halford's orientation.

4☆20☆2024. Just excellence in synchronicity. Better live than the recorded versións. Dave Holland beating on the drums...bassist Ian Hill,... K.K. and Glenn in unison and in synchronicity, Rob Halford prowling on the stage hitting every note on cue and in tone. 4☆20☆2024
all these men that hate on this band because Rob is gay .. are in the Closet !! Who cares about the sexual choice of anyone that Rocks like Priest!!!!! or anyone else .......
dude , what's really funny is all the " manly men " who dressed like a gay biker to look not gay , an look more manly, lol, there really weren't too many people who knew back then , i certainly didn't , and i was around for it
i/m not tryin to insult bikers, just sayin it's all the guys i knew who would dress like that because they thought it made them look more like "real men", just the irony is really funny , because they didn't realise he was a london leather boy
***** (and to Warren 552011 too) Dave Holland was convicted in 2004 of indecency with a disabled lad whom he was giving drumming lessons to and was sentenced to 8 years. He was believed to have been released in 2012. He still denies the offence(s) and has said that he is preparing to write at some length to give his side of the story but the evidence was thoroughly unpleasant. Regarding Rob Halford's sexuality - that was an open secret when I got into Hard Rock/Metal in about 1982 (I'm 48 now - time flies...) and it wasn't a problem but I have to say that since then I've had heaps of problems from homosexuals as an adult and the news here in the UK is full of stories of homosexual men molesting boys in historic criminal cases dating back decades and Dave Holland is one such (he is open about his bisexuality). Its not PC to say it but many homosexual men have a thoroughly unpleasant and arrogant attitude as I can personally testify from bitter experience. I'm not suggesting of course that Rob Halford is this type of individual and I've always been an immense fan of his and the band as a whole and people's private sexual behaviour with consenting adults is just that and not an issue for most people myself included but one's view is tainted of gays for the reasons I've outlined. I'm also a fan of most types of rock and increasingly classical music as I've got older and as a Kate Bush fan and given that Rolf Harris contributed to two of her albums it was especially galling to hear of his predatory attitude towards young girls (he was sentenced to about three years - I can't remember the exact figure) but like Dave Holland his musical contributions cannot be erased from the master tapes even if this were desirable. I only became aware of the Divinyls as a backpacker around Australia in 1989 and sexy, sensual Chrissy Amphlett singing about "a fine line between pleasure and pain" - oohh!! It was sad to hear of her passing as it was of Jan Kuhnemund of my favourite all-female rock band Vixen whom I love to bits and many other rockers who have left us in recent times. Oh well, keep defending the faith people!!!

Awesome! I saw them in the late 70s in Portland at the Paramount. Rob Halford rode on stage on a motorcycle. My favorite heavy metal band.
SO glad they grabbed Scott Travis from Racer X !!!! Judas got better & better as time rolled on.
PRIEST IS METAL AT ITS BEST!
i was a teenager, i watched it on TV at Midnite , since then...i am a Rocker
The 80's were the best times!!!!
Sounds and musicians from late 60's through mid 80's will never be outdone. So much talent on the road full time - man did they ever learn their chops! And the cream just kept rising. Keep trying youngsters the bar has been set VERY high!
I'm hearing right now, From Merida- Venezuela 😮😮Amazing 😊😊😊
Hands down the best band, and performance at this festival!!
Scorpions too❤
Best Judas Priest video I've seen. Rightfully legendary band.
They gave a shit, like Scorps and Triumph. VH fucked their fans.
As a professional musician. Back here early 80s. My bad was more middle of the road. This is The Ultimate. Thank you Brittany Rock
A better time and place than now thats for sure. I'll be 60 this summer and I'm glad I got to see and live it.
Fukin' epic... I'll say it again, Fukin' epic.... thanx for the load, joined, good day all...
looks like they are shitting in the rain ... kkk ... well in "maciota" making a sound
My 1st Priest Show was in 1984, Dortmund, Germanym I was 20....after 40 years I still go and see them😊
You are never to old too ROCK -N-ROLL,I will be there with you 🎉 ❤
Not only Priest in Dortmund Westfalen Hallen. . . Seen them all at that festival. We drove there up from Holland and God only knows how We found our Way Back. Did See DIO in Utrecht that same week. Life was GOOD. . Still is 😊
warst du nicht der erste hartz 4 empfänger deutschlands?
Glad I got to see them in the 80's. They always put on a great show.
Me too, but the lineup with
Ripper is better...
Very Nice Judas Priest Forever!!
How do you know a band is good? THEY SOUND GREAT LIVE!
Einfach großartig!
Weltklasse! Toller sound und geile pictures.👍👍👏👏💎🎶🎤🎸🎸🎸🥁
What an festival, Judas P. in Höchstform.
The greatest voice ever...
I saw Priest in 82 in Germany with Accept and Def Leppard. One of the greatest shows ive ever seen. My ears still hurt! They played Solar Angels and Saints in Hell. Ive never heard him scream higher, the shirt had K.K.'s V crossing Tiptons S.G. and a cool photo of Halford on the back.
4☆20☆2024. Just excellence in synchronicity. Better live than the recorded versións. Dave Holland beating on the drums...bassist Ian Hill,... K.K. and Glenn in unison and in synchronicity, Rob Halford prowling on the stage hitting every note on cue and in tone. 4☆20☆2024
최고의 밴드
all these men that hate on this band because Rob is gay .. are in the Closet !! Who cares about the sexual choice of anyone that Rocks like Priest!!!!! or anyone else .......
+Warren552011. Yeah most of the metal bands in the 80s wore tons of leather and spikes as did the fans.
Warren552011 Rob is awesome. That's all.
dude , what's really funny is all the " manly men " who dressed like a gay biker to look not gay , an look more manly, lol, there really weren't too many people who knew back then , i certainly didn't , and i was around for it
i/m not tryin to insult bikers, just sayin it's all the guys i knew who would dress like that because they thought it made them look more like "real men", just the irony is really funny , because they didn't realise he was a london leather boy
Triumph and Judas Priest kicked ass at this festival.
So did the Scorpions.
I was there with some friends, blacked out waiting in line to get in, probably from the weed and the high heat. Great show!
Where was the concert?
@@jeffsparey9585 San Bernardino California
@@beansbaxter224 thankyou for replying ,,we never had concerts as big as that crowd in the UK
I was there also! I’ll never forget the weekend!

Amazing, am watching it today 2024
I was there. Still have the ticket. Judas was like thunder man!380,000 people!!
Greatest singer in metal history
THAT'S WHAT EVERYONE KNOWS, HALFORD IS THE BEST SINGER PERIOD.
Tim "the ripper" Owen is far away better.
This is the most insane shit I've ever read. Literally any of his contemporaries are better. This is such mediocre metal that does not stand the test of time.
He's one of the top five for sure, but greatest? Come on. You didn't hear Dio or Bruce Dickinson not staying in tune. Halford misses the note multiple times during one song.
@MikkoVille true but to be fair, you don't go to a concert to see them play perfectly lol
This is the most beautiful and cool music in the world !!!
spinal tap
back in the early 1600 s i started watching youtube and came across these guys ..really good band ..was nice sitting around the fire talking about these guys to the early settlers !!!!
Priest's sound and performance is so good it's almost like a music video. Superb band.
Rock, on,great, Britain 🇬🇧 😊all, the metal and, excellent, sounds, of,heavy metal, so,right for, ever, to, time ⏲️, of,all😊😊
I miss the 80's!!
I miss Good Music!!!
We need another "NWOBHM!!!"
met Rob Halford in '91 while they were doing the Painkiller tour.... damn nice guy. He even signed my cast ( had a broken hand at the time ).
You've been blessed!!!
kilmister1970 thank you, I truly have
I was 3 yrs out of H.S but my 1st concert. Rob Halford say's out here in space I'm looking down on you and pointed at me in the front row! 😮 I was so stoned😂

Rob Halford - One and Only...THE BEST OF THE BESTS..!!!
Probably the best year for rock IMO.
18 and was loving it.
Larga vida al sacerdote d Judas... D lo mejor del heavy metal... Del mundo entero... Saludos a toda la banda d México y del mundo q les gusta el sacerdote... X q a un servidor.. le encanta... Desde león Guanajuato México!!!!..
Cool. I was at this concert festival. I was in the Marines at the time. I also went to the 82, US festival. From Sioux City,Ia.
My favourite era of The mighty Priest. This is Metal of the highest degree>Priest and Sabbath have influenced and shaped more Metal bands than anyone else.Look at that crowd.
Dave Holland, Big Part of Priests Power
🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯Bad Ass Drummer.. what a Tone/Style...carried their career ! Rip!!
I saw them in May of 1981 for two shows, Oakland Auditorium and Selland Arena in Fresno. In Oakland, we were less than 20 feet from Glenn! Epic!
Saw this concert in a small, intimate arena. It was INTENSE. When they rolled the motorcycle out, it shook the whole building, and nobody could breathe. So we lit out lighters.
Possibly the best live band of all time.
If this performance is the standard of greatness, this is the deal.
Amazing quality for a video from over 30 years ago. This band just rocked it hard, would love to have a time machine and go to this show :) Because you can't see anything like this ion 2015 anymore.
ALL BOW TO JUDAS PRIEST THEN AND NOW.
most amazingt thing i have ever watched
I was in the middle of grade school and we talked about priest then. Now I like them even better live.
