It took him that long because he had time left on his lease and in the state of Illinois as well as most others the new owners have to honor the lease. The lease goes with the property not the owner unless clearly stated differently in the signed lease

I used to be a manager at family dollar and the penny cup video was because when certain items have been discontinued or the store isn't going to carry them anymore they mark it down. Eventually it shows up in the system as 1 cent and we were directed to not sell these items and we had to dispose of them. YES they throw it in the garbage which means they could've just given her that item but instead she acted like a toddler 🤣🤦🏼♀️ I've given away many penny items because they would've ended up in the trash anyway!! Hope that helps understand what happened there 😊

They resell them for profit. I got a basketball for my son one time that randomly rang up for a penny. I felt like Warren Buffet leaving the store. Had a little more strut in my giddy up.😂

This is happening more and more and it's bullshit. I also had a very similar encounter. Paid landlord rent months ahead, he sold building without telling us. I wake up to a knock on my door. New owner immediately enters and assaulted me saying I'm a squatter. Went to court with lease and got months to stay because I payed. He came back again before court stated leaving date and did it again. I got him arrested and have since moved but you can't always blame the renter. It's bullshit 💯

The previous owner was responsible for ending his lease either by working it out with the new owner or relocating him or paying him to end his lease. He should contact a lawyer he has renters rights and a legal contract for a 12 month lease I’d sue tf out everyone involved.
My friend had a landlord steal his stuff...he sued them and received $50,000. This guy needed a good lawyer...he obviously didn't have one. Perhaps he can get someone pro bono...I would look into it.
As a landlord for 40+ years,, it all comes down to the lease agreement. Even though without a lease,he has an evict the tenet through the court system.
The tenant without a lease from the new owner is a squatter but still had rights. I rent & manage properties as you have & have gone to court many times over a bad tenant now & then as the attorney pro-se. It takes minimum a month and a half, but realistically 2-3 months to go thru the eviction process of: 1. Me filing the 5-10 or even 30 day notice depending on the cause, for example non-payment of rent after 5 days then I must post a 5 day notice, 2.Then after that 5 days if they still haven’t paid, I can go to the county courthouse and pay $150-250 depending on if I want to sue for back rent. Then I pay the $25 sheriff service fee for the sheriff to serve them the court date which is typically 3 weeks away and they must be served still having a week before court. 3.Then the court hearing (It’s already been way over a month now) and regardless the judge is going to give the tenant another month to GTFO before the sheriff will actually evict them. 2-3 months either way! And I have to pay the fees. This case for this guy I would expect 3 months from when I gave notice to LEGALLY get him out as he didn’t owe the new owner at all! The other option is the goon squad with the jujitsu shirts and sometimes they also have badges on!

In Illinois, a tenant has to be given a court order. The court will give them 90days to get their property out. The new owner is suppose to honor any previous lease agreement until its end date. The system really screwed this guy over and the other guy got slap on the wrist.
The guy had a lease and he wanted him to leave before the lease was up because he bought the property. When you have a lease regardless if you sell the property or not it is conveyed to the new owner he can't just make him leave. There has to be a court hearing for the eviction.

Stay positive brother. I don't know you obviously but if you're truly innocent then the truth always comes out in time so please do not waver in your faith in that like I did recently. I went through something a few months ago where I was accused of using when I hadn't. I've been clean from fentanyl and other opiates for 12 and 1/2 years. Multiple of the people involved in testing me despite knowing who I am and what kind of man I am and knowing my history and they still threw that all the way and turned on me and didn't believe me. I tried to explain to them that it was a false positive from my medication and if they had gone back years and checked they would have realized that medication has a history of that but I stopped taking it for a while and recently got back on it. Somebody had told me to stay positive and have faith that since I'm interested in telling the truth that it would prevail and I didn't do it. I wish I had been stronger but I wavered in that. Don't do what I did. Stay positive and know that it's going to work out because it will in the end. God bless you brother

As a landlord for 40+ years,, it all comes down to the lease agreement. Even though without a lease,he has an evict the tenet through the court system.
The tenant without a lease from the new owner is a squatter but still had rights. I rent & manage properties as you have & have gone to court many times over a bad tenant now & then as the attorney pro-se. It takes minimum a month and a half, but realistically 2-3 months to go thru the eviction process of:
1. Me filing the 5-10 or even 30 day notice depending on the cause, for example non-payment of rent after 5 days then I must post a 5 day notice,
2.Then after that 5 days if they still haven’t paid, I can go to the county courthouse and pay $150-250 depending on if I want to sue for back rent. Then I pay the $25 sheriff service fee for the sheriff to serve them the court date which is typically 3 weeks away and they must be served still having a week before court.
3.Then the court hearing (It’s already been way over a month now) and regardless the judge is going to give the tenant another month to GTFO before the sheriff will actually evict them.
2-3 months either way! And I have to pay the fees.
This case for this guy I would expect 3 months from when I gave notice to LEGALLY get him out as he didn’t owe the new owner at all!
The other option is the goon squad with the jujitsu shirts and sometimes they also have badges on!

In Illinois, a tenant has to be given a court order. The court will give them 90days to get their property out. The new owner is suppose to honor any previous lease agreement until its end date. The system really screwed this guy over and the other guy got slap on the wrist.

The guy had a lease and he wanted him to leave before the lease was up because he bought the property. When you have a lease regardless if you sell the property or not it is conveyed to the new owner he can't just make him leave. There has to be a court hearing for the eviction.

Thomas J. Reynolds, 41, appeared Friday in La Salle County Circuit Court and pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony carrying a sentence of four to 15 years in prison. Reynolds was sentenced to 48 months of reporting probation and one day in jail (time served). The gun was confiscated.
As part of the plea, prosecutors dismissed a second count of aggravated battery with a firearm, a Class X felony carrying six to 30 years with no possibility of probation. The now-dismissed count alleged that Reynolds “knowingly discharged a firearm and thereby caused bodily harm to [the victim] in that he shot [the victim] in the leg.”
In open court Friday, Assistant La Salle County State’s Attorney Matt Kidder said that had the case gone to trial, the state was prepared to call witnesses to a shooting reported Nov. 13, 2022, in an area near Starved Rock State Park. A tenant in rural Oglesby had been evicted from his residence and arrived to find individuals removing his belongings. An altercation ensued, Kidder said, and Reynolds fired at the tenant’s retreating vehicle.
Reynolds declined to address Chief Judge H. Chris Ryan Jr. when offered a chance to speak at Friday’s plea.
La Salle County State’s Attorney Joe Navarro declined to comment on why the Class X firearm charge was dropped.

Stay positive brother. I don't know you obviously but if you're truly innocent then the truth always comes out in time so please do not waver in your faith in that like I did recently. I went through something a few months ago where I was accused of using when I hadn't. I've been clean from fentanyl and other opiates for 12 and 1/2 years. Multiple of the people involved in testing me despite knowing who I am and what kind of man I am and knowing my history and they still threw that all the way and turned on me and didn't believe me. I tried to explain to them that it was a false positive from my medication and if they had gone back years and checked they would have realized that medication has a history of that but I stopped taking it for a while and recently got back on it. Somebody had told me to stay positive and have faith that since I'm interested in telling the truth that it would prevail and I didn't do it. I wish I had been stronger but I wavered in that.
