The MEDUSA Rig! | CARP Fishing With WORMS!

- Worms are a deadly bait in their own right but the last few years has seen them become the number one bait choice for the BIG carp anglers. Yes boilies have taken a backseat in favour of a bag of worms.
The big Medusa hook bait has taken countless big carp now and I wondered if it would work in our match fishing?
Let's give it a go!
ENJOY :)

Hi Jo, when you were chuckling at the bunch of worms it reminded me of when I doubled everyone's weight on your slop and paste jigger, I could not stop catching, keep the innovations coming. 😊
Brilliant to hear :)
On the money Joe with this worm rig, brilliant split screen regards Dave.
I really like the split screen, so we can see you and the rod tip! 👍
I'm not Sure why I haven't done it before :)
Omg Joe, what a method!! Im tying me some of those hook lengths 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🎣🎣🎣
I think there’s some serious mileage in it
@@MatchFishingFilms definitly 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Great video and information as always Joe 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Like the split screen Joe, will be trying this myself, know the exact venue to try it. By the way what was the length of the hair between hook and quick stop?
About 25mm I’d say maybe a touch longer, the gripper stop actually pushes the worms down tighter than I imagined so could get away with a shorter hair I think. That’s being said the bites were fantastic on the long hair and excellent hook holds
Thanks mate, good stuff...the 'Medusa' is obviously a savage method.
💪🏻
I tried a big bunch of worms here in Thailand, just caught Catfish and the odd Jaramet. On natural waters. Nice vid.
Sounds great!
Very nice video Joe ! 👏👌
Joe thanks for the content. I am currently trying a Revibed corn cave on the rig between the worm and float stop stuffed with paste or Thatchers and finely chopped worm. Thoughts are smell attraction and a bit of colour.
Could you do a video on tying the hooks , I am little confused about getting the silicone on.
I will :)
Nice video Joe I'll definitely be trying it
I'm genuinely excited to try it in the future!
great vid Joe
Thanks for watching
Great content as always mate just been back on the worms the last month undoubtedly un-beatable at times. Wondering if you can give me a good starter set up for youtube videos ,ie mics camera editing software. Cheers looking forward to your next video👍
I use Final Cut Pro but to start iMovie is great. The key is good sound. An iPhone and a rode wireless go mic with a tripod are good enough to get you going.
There’s lots of good vlogging cameras around now and they are much more versatile than a GoPro. Something like a Sony ZV1 is a popular choice among TH-camrs.
I am lucky that I have cameras that are over and above what’s actually needed for a personal account
@MatchFishingFilms Brilliant Joe thanks for your advice and such a speedy response. Look forward to more content from you in the future.👍
Great vid joe i go sea fishing a lot in the winter for cod and work to 20 min rule with worms in the sea as after 20 mins they are washed out off sent. dont know if it still the same for lakes thou
They definitely look ‘used’ after a 20minute cast that’s for sure
I'm at meadow lands next week will have to give it a go
Thinking of giving it a try on the last match at hayfield wot s your thoughts on big Adam's look's amazing
Could work really well on there
I have tried loads of different worm rigs the Korda clip works but is fiddly , I use two quick stops as a option , but the float stop idea is so much better , I have used two fake casters to trap the worms , plus the bait band idea , the lob worms also work well and can be instant so interesting , video not sure of the liquid used on the worms and the p v a idea is another edge thank you
I was happy with the little rig it seemed to work nice and easy to bait up when in a hurry too 👍🏻
I didn’t use a liquid in this one, I almost got some ready in the video before bite number one but decided against it 😂
@@MatchFishingFilms just starting to watch the worm bomb video again , thank you for your reply I would be interested in liquids you use or recommend 👍
Used to do a smaller version about 30 years ago for big Bream ..
Great method but it turned out expensive back then chopping worms as well..
it was a devastating method though . 🎣
I see the tench anglers do that worm kebab to great effect!
@@MatchFishingFilms As they say nothing new in fishing ..
Everything full circle .
Such is life . 🎣
I’m gonna have to try that on winter league at lindholme good idea that as a single hook bait . Loco would be ideal
Yea I think it will be deadly on some venues as a single hook bait 🤟🏻
Instead of using a quick stop have you thought about using a korda maggot clip that way you could do away with the line stop on the hair. Just a thought I'd throw in there Joe.
Maybe, I was happy with the set up though. Not sure how the worms would sit on the clip
I hear that the expense of worms make it as a regular bait “prohibitive “. I have a wormery in my garden which I put all the vegetable trimmings into. Every time I need some , I just go pick some up.
👍🏻
I've tried worms on my local lake and can't get a bite for love nor money. I'll try one more time using this method. Fingers crossed
Used this on the pellet waggler years ago and it was mega
Interesting!
Kilo worms £30, kilo pellets £6 ish, love fishing chop worms, used to fish Sherwood in Nottigham 2 dendras on hook propper whak rounds😅😅😅
Yea that’s the overriding factor of course sadly
That looks brilliant Joe, will be trying some of that, Thank you,
I can't wait to try it again!
Could you use this on a pellet waggler?
Not sure more of a bait for on the bottom i would say
@@MatchFishingFilms might be worth a try on one of your next videos. I will certainly be trying. Thanks for the kind reply
What length are you using for your hook length?
It was about 10inch but I’d happily go shorter
@@MatchFishingFilms that's what she said
Were you clipped up Joe?
No not in this situation the bites are too savage
I fished a lake where surface baits were banned and all the big carp were on the top. I put half a dozen worms on a hook and cast it at the carp, they sink so arent a surface bait but sink so so slowly the carp have chance to see them. Absolutely emptied the place.
Sounds awesome
How did you hook the worms @TJ-ss1up ?
@@nathandavies7564 - Joe hooked the worms by using a quickstop pushed through the worms with a baiting needle.
People dont fish worm as much because its so expensive
Yes I agree!
people not using worms mate because there £25 kg.
I’m going to set my own wormery up , hopefully give me a plentiful amount of worms 🪱
sounds great
Watched your earlier video from a while ago 👍
