Cracking Joe, Iove the way you explain the 'how', but equally important the 'Why'. It gets the head in tune with what we are trying to achieve. Thanks Joe
Thanks Joe for another in depth vid. It’s exactly what us non pro anglers need as there is so much conflicting and confusing info out there. I’d love to get out there and try all these different methods and ways, but I only get to go out once a fortnight due to having a young family so want to be able to rock up and have faith in my rigs. Your previous video gave me confidence to fish paste in the margin for the first time and it was in a match. The Fish rocked up in last hour and got me a 3rd (just wish I had another hour) but I never would have fished paste in margin if it wasn’t for videos like this 👌👍
That's fantastic and I can relate! I try and go once a week but the reality is once per fortnight and when I go I just want to make the most of it (luckily I have the job I do too of course) but its messages like this that make it worthwhile for me.
The knot is called the Knotless Knot. Originally used a lot by Carp Anglers. Great tutorial Joe. I Iike the though behind each of the floats. Like you I am mostly interested in the ,2 and the point 3 as most waters I fish are no more than 5 ft deep. I am ordering these floats so I can put your ideas into practice asap. Great video as per usual. Cheers
Well Joe been watching ya for a while now after returning to fishing after a hiatus of 40 years, family eh lol. I just saw my tackle shop had some JC margin paste so I bought the lot, looks like I’m tying on the bank tomorrow. New to pole fishing this time around so it’s Black Hydra, and straight through to a size 10 fingers crossed. Oh subbed ages ago because I love your no nonsense approach without the plug plug plug you need this.
I've been using the jc margin floats recently and can't say enough good things about them. Caught 600lb of units on the same rig at the weekend, and its come through unscathed apart from a tiny paint chip which wont affect performance. At one point it got rolled on in the net by an angry 15lb'er and I thought there would be no way it would survive, but it did. I like the fact there is so little resistance - it definitely helps keep the paste on when plenty of fish in the peg, but also had quite a few were they didnt even know there was a rig attached after they'd snaffled the paste - float gently slid away into deeper water as they had it and moved off (I'd obviously been too slow/blind to hit the quick dip bite but that didnt then cost me missing the fish). This alone definitely adds a few extra fish to net.
What you have described it exactly what I want to hear ❤️ Teaching people about the time they give you on the bite is the hardest thing to put across in a video 👍🏻
Absolutely brilliant Joe showing your secrets of Paste fishing and something I don't do enough of but on its day can out fish any method I will definitely give this ago now I actually use a knotless Knot seems to be strong enough would you use it Thanks for sharing your knowledge 🎣🎣
@@paulsomersetwolf5970 yes knotless knot is great just a faff when tying straight through rigs as you would need to put the float on after you tie the hook on 👍🏻
Hi Joe great video as always. Quick question. Do you plumb up to the same part of the stem for the 0.3g & 0.5g floats as you do for the margin float? Asking as I usually plumb up to the base of the body & struggle to find a consistent presentation.
Great video again, Joe. Always held off on paste fishing, this has explained it well. Do you have any videos of you putting these rigs to use? Thanks 🙏🏻
Hi Joe, great videos. I love fishing paste and recently got some of the JC margin floats. First put in a lovely Carp. After that I kept foul hooking them. Any advice to avoid this would be greatly appreciated👍🎣👍
Thanks for prompt reply. Tried it again yesterday and starting to get the hang of it. A completely different way of fishing but interesting to see the float move in different directions indicating something there. A bit more practice and I reckon I’ll crack it👍
Great video as usual Joe, when fishing paste and you plumb the depth are you fishing exactly to depth or are you trying to lay it on the bottom with a couple of inches ? Obviously without shot nr the hook fishing over depth must be hard . I watched an angler foul hook loads on the paste , any ideas as to why ?
Hi Joe , I got fed up of being hammered in the summer by paste anglers so decided to give it a go using standard pole floats came 3rd !! But it wasn't right saw your video and bought a handful of your paste floats , is there any reason why you don't get little black tubing on the deep floats like you do on margin ones ? So easy to set up and looking forward to using them Sunday at Meadowlands Cheers Andy
They are purely a collar to prevent the float sliding off the tip. Not a problem on the bigger floats as they have the ridge from the glued on hollow bristle :)
Again great vid joe, tot agree about long lash in margin😁, ties in well with me comment earlier at meadowlands,, gonna try and replicate all this at shewsby in a club match in two weeks👍
Im confused you say pink zip but thats 8 - 10 ? You mean red zip (hybrid elastic).? joe if you were fishing both f1's (upto 3.5lb or so) AND carp ( upto 14lb but mainly 3 to 10lb) What elastic would you use, I fished today (came second) I was missing all f1's and lost some carp using 18 to 20 slik, after 1 hour or so I changed down to a match top kit fitted with yellow (14 to 16) Nufish Zip and whoosh catching 7/8 out of ten rather than losing 7/8 out of ten, this is why Im wondering about the pink zip you say you use what is it strength wise 8 - 10?

Thanks, will do!
Joe thank you for this and previous videos on paste fishing. I have learnt so much and enjoying my fishing once again.
Glad you like them!
Awesome again Joe I used your paste rigs today and had a really good day they are great thank you again bud.
No problem 👍

Loads of information and excellently explained 👌

Certainly did
Excellently explained. Next time I'm on the bank I'll use it. Cheers buddy..
:)
Going to try this method next I go fishing in shallow water. Never done fishd paste before. Cheers from Thailand 🇹🇭 🏝🏖
Hope you enjoy
Nice one.
I use a long lash mainly because my paste is almost like water and any movement on the pole that moves the float will knock the bait off. 👍

For paste I like to be over depth 👍🏻two to three inches generally

Very hard to comment without being there. Try fishing past the bait or slightly shallower (or deeper) water.

I always fish overdepth and let the float sit wonky 👍🏻
There’s lots of reasons why. Could be feeding, depth, tow, conditions you name it
@@MatchFishingFilms Thanks Joe !!
It's a Domhoff Joe, been using it for spade and eyed hooks for years.
I knew someone would know what it was called

Just press the subscribe button on any video :)
Hi joe. Great vedio. Just a quick question you shown where you plum up with the margin float, but where do you plum up with the other two?
Roughly three inches over
thx
Hi Joe any chance you could do a video on how you tie your dacron connectors please 👍.

awesome joe great content mate can we have a inline dibber float from nufish for f1 shallow fishing
What would you like to see
It might help to hold the hook in a fly tying vice.
It’s easy when I’m not trying to look at the camera above to make sure it’s focused and whip by feel 😂
I love your channel ❤and I do subscribe and support

18+ is pink
Joe what size silicon do these floats take? Cheers
I like the 0.7mm so it’s fairly tight
Thanks Joe. Keep up the great content. You really do explain it in a way that makes perfect sense. All the best. 👍
Can only use size 14 hook where I fish witch make of hook would you use
I’d still go for the same hook. A wide gape is important I think 👍🏻
Have you tried the Guru Kaizen hooks, I haven't looked back since starting to use them. Leave a long tag so the paste has something to grip onto 👍
They look a lovely pattern but I had a horrible experience with them when they were first launched and I've never used one since!
I’ve always used olivettes on my paste rigs just so much easier
Great tip!
Use a match man hook tier Joe
Why?
@@MatchFishingFilmsdoes the same job but then again you’re more dexterous than me.
Can't get hold of the margin floats 😢
@@mickmozzy750 I mentioned in the video they are coming back in stock any day now
