U ain't disgraced yourself, it's a learning curve, top anglers like yourself will straighten out the curve. Us happy splogers think oh well always next time😂😂😂
Great video, I've been doing a very similar thing at Larford. Trying to get my head around catching monster carp in big lakes in matches. It's style of fishing that's completely new to me but I've been absolutely loving it. I've yet to frame as there's always some class anglers to try and beat but their days are numbered😂. My biggest so far is 23.8lb mirror caught on the long pole😊
Well fished Joe. Its easy to beat yourself up after a match blaming yourself for getting this tactic wrong and that feeding wrong etc, etc. Positives, 4th in 1st match against hardened Locals, Bait selection good. Negatives, none really, Its a positive that you worked out where you believe you could have done better. Golden rule of Match fishing, WATCH your opposition and adjust your method etc to suit. It is also a known fact that the fish do drift through the swims as the day wears on which could explsin why you didnt get as many bites. I think moving on that the short line is actually shorter than you think and also needs to be fed earlier. Good Video mate and well done though. Liked the Ground bait/Method tips. Cheers
I think the rocks are around 8 or 9m out come closer and you either get snagged or bust up, I think you did alright but you’ll never beat the locals who really are in tune with the venue
How do you rate the Distance Masters Joe? Love my 12ft Daiwa Tournament Pro Feeder but the tips are really expensive. Edit: to say your not the best at casting, your casting technique is mint 👌
@MatchFishingFilms I know what you mean mate , I took the piss, but to be fair when I was match fishing seriously, I'd only do bait with venue water or pond water , and always filled the car with Petrol Friday night as I was convinced I'd taint my hands and bait if I did it on the morning of a match 😀 marginal gains and 1% s all add up .
I've always just used tap water but something is off with it at the moment. I'm the same with filling the van up! But when I travelled with Lee Kerry all the time he wouldn't even consider it and caught loads ha ha
@MatchFishingFilms our water in Banbury is the same mate , definitely not right. When I travelled with Simon he was the same as Lee , just said put a glove on to fill up 😂 and those 2 catch a lot more than your average bear .
Don't knock your self mate you did ok just needed a couple more, keep it going, Thank you,
🤞

Nothing makes me drop a brew... except that !
Great day out Joe .....just need a few chub 🤣🤣
You'd still batter me
Great info Joe. That’s a big place to fish. I went with Chris earlier this year and had a ball. But we did have the carp rods.
Very cool!
Totally different fishing that Joe, I'm sure given another match or two and a chance on a good peg you'll put it right!
Hope so! Or I could blank!
Awesome Joe, always fancied give it a go there but it's 2 hours drive... each way.
Maybe have a few days down there? It’s a lovely part of the world

I definitely do. Saggy round the midsection
Would the milky nut stick mix do the same job as the boillie crush that Blake’s do?
I’m not sure give it a go 👍🏻
Hard luck ...Ace video

@@MatchFishingFilms Not much better Joe
You are turning into the mad prof in the kitchen playing with your baits
Beats the cooking I'm normally doing
What bait tubs are they Joe ? ( Green ones )
Ringers ones 👍🏻

Seemed you only had 1 keep net? Is it ok to keep fish that size in a net for 5 to 6 hours? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks

What size landing net are you using?
it's a 22in net that I've had made as a deeper sample

Try Daiwa's CT tips....or any other 3.5mm tip (from other brands).
I like them but I don't think. they are right for this style of fishing. They are a better bream rod imo
Joe - don't rest your rods directly on those rocks - put a towel or something soft on the rocks first.
:)
Mineral water for pellets 😳, they won't let you back into Yorkshire at this rate 😂😂
Corrr I don't know what they are doing with our water at the moment but it stinks of chlorine!
