After I had a bad stomach the past days (as explained in the previous video) I decided it would be a good idea to eat some food that my stomach is familiar with. I heard about an American diner reestaurant called the Filling station here in Makati, Philippines, where I am currently. Hello Ken, I hope you try to visit Baguio City then go back and explore Manila and other parts of the Philippines. Most of the vloggers always follow the same route, Manila, beach island and often miss out the northern cities like Baguio.
There are German restaurants in BGC(Bonifacio Global City in Taguig) in case you miss your Bavarian cuisine. Good day

Yeah, the atmosphere at that cafe/restaurant is super. The decors there is fantastic. Yummy burger, fries and banana pancakes. To play safe, it's best to go for an indoor meal after that upset stomach. Good of you to continue showing us our MYR in your video...very suitable for Malaysian subscribers. It is nice to have some western food now and again, even though I love Asian food.
Are you Asian by any chance?
Just to add to my earlier comment. You should try local food such as adobo, sinigang, sisig, lechon etc. Try going to popular restaurants such as Manam, Locavore, Max’s, Aristocrat, Mesa, Gerry’s Grill etc. instead of eating at spotty places such as street food which most likely ain’t prepared well. If you are on a budget you can try local fastfood chains like Jollibee or Mang Inasal.
Please be careful with your drinks. My husband is from Germany also. He got upset stomach there when we were on vacation. Water is mostly not clean, so please make it sure you drink distilled water. Any drinks where they put ice and creams can also cause you food poison.

Having lived in the US for over a decade, I can say that is the most American diner I have ever seen, haha.

How they managed to source all that memorabilia, even if not genuine articles amazes me. I could spend an hour just looking around at all the items :D

Ken, thank you for featuring an American style diner in Makati! It looks like a really fun place! I am a bit surprised though that they did not offer some syrup, preferably Maple syrup, to go with your pancakes as they would in the States.
Ken should try the authentic ones. Pancake House, and there's Denny's I believe within the airport and somewhere in BGC. He seems to be enjoying the journey, that's what counts, except for the taxi app.

For someone who just had a bad case of "Mantazumas Revenge" you sure are going all out with guns blazing! Burgers and waffles probably would not be on my first choice of stuff to eat after going to that bathroom all day. I've live in the USA for 50 yrs and just retired this month in Manila so I know what your feeling after you ate those two plates (STUFF). Best pancakes in the states are in IHOP and Dennis restaurants but there are plenty of mom and pops places too that beat them all. GL!
Really scary to have seen Ken eating and testing almost all the street food in his last video without filtering any of them. Hopefully no more attack of acute gastroenteritis after this.

@@jomontanee usually the onset of it is hours after and obviously not the one that he took immediately before his stomach upset. the ones that he took hours before were from the street foods

There are actually really good restos in that part of makati. Look for el chupacabra and only pans for mexican, crying tiger for thai, dr wine for french. lampara for filipino. they are all in the same area.

Stay safe. If you want to try out German resto and bar, there is one in Edsa Shangri la Mall. The place is called Brotzeit. They also have another branch in BGC.

Ken, in watching your Quiapo market 'spree' for native street foods, I believe the highest risk was the pineapple drink. Avoid any water and beverages sold by street vendors, including ice. Always drink bottled water when in SE Asia. Sounds like you had gastroenteritis, most likely from a water-borne pathogen. You're a kind man and I admire your curiosity and sense of adventure. Pls drink distilled bottled water (brands are Absolute and Summit). You may buy them in supermarkets and 7-11 stores.

American foods are all over in the Philippines from groceries to fast foods you can't get that in Europe enjoy while you can.

we have 50s, 60s style same theme restaurant here in the AMericas... its called Johnny's ROckets.. classic music from Elvis, Beatles and have jukebox music player.. for same items.. the price here would be over $25+ nice affordable meal if you want something different in Manila

You eating the pancake reminds me of my ex-girlfriend. We also ate the pancake topping, thought t'was ice cream too. But we ate it in one whole bite and we laughed after realizing it was not ice cream. XD
