Saw a M1 at the Nürburgring 24 classic, it got black flagged for being too loud lol
yeah totally ridiculous ! they had to put silencers in ... these retarred noise regulations :( touristenfahrten are far more loud than most of the raceseries ... so stupid :/

nah, TF is nearly silent compared to races simply because of the much lower amount of cars on the track, that's why individual cars can be louder.
we can be happy everything is allowed to be as loud as it is, the entire area around and inside the Nordschleife is a nature reserve after all.
tommihommi1 It’s not the nature reserve that’s the problem. It’s the stupid people that have “unknowingly” moved next to a race track and have claimed that the track noise disturbs them. Then the regional government or whatever has no backbone and gave in to the new residents demands. This sort of situation happens all the time in Europe unfortunately. A few people benefit on the loss of tens of thousands of racing fans who want to hear cars the way they were meant to sound.
chipattack912 it's not just Europe, happens all the time in the US too. An oval track near where I grew up that did dirt racing ended up being in the middle of a few residential developments and the town forced it to close.
My father was a mechanic in the original Pro Car series, building and repairing these machines. He got to meet greats such as James Hunt, Mario Andretti and Niki Lauda.
I am very proud of him.

BMW M1 Procar is one of the best sounding car I‘ve ever heard live. Additionally its also one of the loudest. Just some old Formula cars, the V10-F1 cars and the 4 disks rotary mazda Le Mans car sound equally good.

@@dergreg_ Na ja, das heißt die fahren da keine richtigen Rennen. Die Fahrzeuge werden Leistungsmäßig in Gruppen eingeteilt, die dann jeweils so 2-3 Läufe am Tag fahren die jeweils ca. 20 Minuten dauern. Da gehts halt um nix. Es gibt keinen Sieger. Sind quasi offiziell Testfahrten, aber die lassen es da schon auch so richtig krachen! Ich hoffe dir genügt das als Antwort, wenn nicht nochmal Nachfragen. Es gibt da einige Videos von der Veranstaltung auf TH-cam.

Das Feuerwerk am Auspuff des BASF M1 ist schon traumhaft. Der Klang und die Optik vom M1 kaum zu toppen. Traumauto durch und durch.

Always liked the BMW M1 ProCar. I've always thought it was a shame that BMW abandoned the platform. I think the ProCar teases what could have been had BMW continued the car and developed the car to its full potential.
The BMW M1 is truly a unique and dynamic car of its own kind. The sound is just truly exhilarating!
The M1 has one of the best Racing Car Sounds that I ever heard! Some years ago I heard it In addition to the DTM at the Hockenheimring at the taxi rides.
I saw a BMW M1 at the Hockenheim Historic in Germany. Every time this car accelerated to the start/finish straight, it shakes the ground.

Such a sweet sound. Entertaining to watch the BASF car (#48) trailing flames through the corners.
Not only do they Sound spectacular, but both the Art car, and Pro car, look just Incredible too!

I was just going to say the 60's F1 cars
Kinda impressed me for a flat 6 to sound like that, usually don't care how high twin 6 engine can rev like alfa 155 or current f1, it still can't have that high pitch sound like inline 6 does, and one thing i love about inline 6 is that it capable to sound like a v12 since it's a twin inline 6.
When they first appeared they looked and sounded mind blowing, all these years later they still look and sound mind blowing, they have never been able to better the shape because it is perfection!

Absolutely!!! I love sixinline much more than any V8. And the M88 Reihensechser is imo the best sounding engine of all Times. I heard nothing sounds better!

I was also visiting the AVD Old-timer Grand Prix in 2018. To this point I only knew the astonishing sound from sim racing but to hear it in person for the first time was so satisfying.

In le mans classic 2023, at the warming up, it is the most impressive ; gazoline, sound, the heat of the stand, the M1 procar are up level.

BMW is just the car i have been in one pretty basic engines inline six but they make them work and kick everyones ass legends of motorsports and they just sound great nothing else like it
