I had a 1975 Kawasaki 250 triple. With expansion chambers,K&N air filters, and re-jet the carbs, it was the fastest bike I ever rode. I weighed over 200lbs and it went 125mph down a runway at the airport I worked at the time. Wish I still had it.

Thanks for this video, very well made. My uncle, God rest his soul, was a Saab 2-stroke fanatic, he built at least 4 engines in his home shop and restored at least 3 or 4 old two stroke Saabs, I loved riding in those beasts, they sounded amazing. His dream was to build a monster 3 cylinder Saab engine with 3 carburetors and higher performance.
Great video, as ever! Keep up your good work and keep on talking. I've absolutely no problem with it! And for me nice to see my Goggomobil video in this compilation. It is from my friend, a 250cc version. It is fun to drive with. Cheers and thumbs up from me✌👍
I just loved❤️ the sound of the Detroit diesel (2 stroke) in my uncles❤️ old KW. I was about 12 when he got it, traded a Mack without a sleeper 😴for it. He said the only thing was the mileage went down a little. More than enough power to pull any mountain grade, east coast or west. It had a 40speed and rode like you were on a big comfy cloud. Those days are long gone. Uncle has passed on, he sold the last truck about 5 years before he went. Thank you for 👍🏻sharing the video post and best of 🍀
1959 Commer truck designed to take the "flat" TS3 engine with its horizontally mounted cylinders. With the engine mounted beneath the floor of the cab, the bonnet (hood) of the truck could be dispensed with. The windscreen and driver were then moved to the front of the vehicle, resulting in the UK's first short-cab lorry.
Unfortunately tuned to the point of losing all of the great low and mid range power those engines had. They were long stroke, old school Euro 2 cycles and they are getting rare as hens teeth, fun to hear, but damn as an owner I hate seeing them abused at RPMs they were never designed to run at.
Trabants also can sound pretty cool I think, but a huge like for starting with the Wartburg! Would you make an eastern block special? I think on this side of the iron courtain were some quite great, or really cute cars!:)
Balázs Bartha I agree. Those cars, like the Warburg,Trabant, Lada, etc. are fascinating. They may have been tin cans, but you could fix them in your bedroom with some screws that you've found in your pocket and they had to survive brutal East European winters. Also, you could buy them for what would amount to a month's rent in western countries!
The suzuki quadracer was a damn good quad. Mine needed to be rebuilt so my dad took it to a guy that worked for him. When he was done with it you had to pull start it behind a truck and it was absolutely insane. It was over 350cc when he was done. Cant remember it was originally a 250 or 350cc to start with. I just remember I had no problem burning the tires off on pavement even from a roll and the when the powerband kicked it, it scared most anyone who drove it. That included a few light modified guadracer owners and some pretty heavily modded banshees
My father loved 2 stroke motors. He called them 2 smokes. He bought any bike that was 2 stroke and he loved getting them running. The smell i cam remember so vividly.
Naturally aspirated Diesel two strokes dont work. They are either supercharged or turbo and supercharged. They need the pressurized air intake to be able to run
Anything with a supercharger or a turbocharger is using forced induction by definition. It can't be called "naturally aspirated", even if this is the minimum needed for the engine to operate.
I enjoy the voice over as it gives useful pieces of knowledge to the video that you otherwise wouldn't have known if you aren't a hardcore car knowledge connoisseur.
With the assumption that this script was written by you, I'd say your English is already more fluent than some native English speakers I know. Keep at it- your vocabulary is excellent, it's just the nuances and enunciation that need work. Gotta say not having seen any of your content in some time I was surprised when I heard a voice.
Top video! Love the three cylinder 1970 bikes. I've actually ridden the Kawasaki H1 500, and the GT 380, 550 and 750 as well. Wonderful turbine sound when under load.
Manny Hysten That's because both Wankel engines and 2 strokes produce 1 exhaust pulse per cylinder, or rotor, per revolution of the crankshaft, or eccentric shaft. Wankels are such odd engines. They run on 4 cycles, but produce power more like a 2 cycle.
Enjoy the heck out of this channel, great content. I never really noticed anything wrong with the narration. Sounds like a euro person trying to reach a bigger audience with intellectual effort and good research. Keep it up !
Diesel 2 strokes have Exhaust Valves, most are both Supercharged and Turbocharged. Many the Turbo was optional so they were only supercharged, These Detroit Diesel 2 strokes were used around the world. Ships Trains Tanks Large and Medium Trucks Generator and Pumps. They were built for Continuous service. Many are still running today. The Detroit Diesel Super Chargers are the design for what the Worlds Fastest Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars have Used for near 75 years. The names of the Super Chargers are of the Detroit Diesels they Came off of. 8-71, 6-71, 4-71 being the most popular, also used 8V-71, 6V-71, 4V-71.
Back in the days I used to drive an Aveling Barford SG2 A Super 700 6X6 Grader with a 6V-71. This engines was also used in busses, motorhomes, loaders, graders, dump trucks and other machines. The Russians even copied this engine for military trucks. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Diesel_Series_71
8:30 We had a similar coupe in 1950's and sixties in Brasil, largely used in racing. It was called Puma DKW / GT Malzoni. It has a 1 litre DKW / Auto Union 2 stroke engine. 75hp. Also the first car of my grandparents in countryside was a DKW "jeep". Yep, a DKW-Vemag Candango. Also 1 litre 2 stroke, also a just front traction chepper version, also they lived in a slippery slope. So sometimes they had to back and increase speed to climb the hill.
Hello, Visio Racer! First I want to say I really like listening to you speak. Your English is excellent, and your voice is very pleasant to my ears. I never have any trouble understanding what you say. It's part of what I enjoy about your channel. I wish I could speak a language that is not native to me so well. Don't let anybody who has problems with it get to you. They just have lazy ears. Your channel is unique and the fact that you have real human voice narration means a lot to me. I can't listen to those fake robot voices some people use. Keep up you great work and ignore the fools! I can't seem to get enough of the crazy 2-stroke engines! You've probably heard about the Rolls-Royce Crecy engine- it was a military aircraft engine developed in WWII that was a 2-stroke V-12 (!) with sleeve valves. It never made it into production because the war ended and also by that time jet engines were coming into use. No films or audio recordings were made, sadly, but it apparently was extremely loud and could be heard quite a distance away. Great video as always, you're the best!
Your English is much better than my Slovak (I know none). I am impressed by anyone who even TRIES to learn English, as it is one of the most non-linear, illogical hodgepodge languages ever devised. (I am a big fan of your videos, BTW.)
Great video! People are complaining about your English? You have nothing to worry about, you can speak it better than half of the people here in England! :) Thanks very much!
My high school biology bought a white Saab Sonnet brand new when i was a sophomore. It was white with black interior. I think it may have had a V4 rather than a 2 stroke. A very cool car to a kid who owned a '59 Volvo PV544 as my first car. I just mainly remember how awesome it was to look over a virtually brand new Sonnet. For the life of me i don't recall why i didn't talk to him about it a lot more often than i did.
This presenter expresses himself well without losing some " flavoring" of his home country...why not? I spent time in a place where there was a big river estuary. Some of the older water taxi's, crew boats & small tugs had these 2 stroke diesels. Never was on one but you could hear the distinctive sound from a long way off!

I had a 1975 Kawasaki 250 triple. With expansion chambers,K&N air filters, and re-jet the carbs, it was the fastest bike I ever rode. I weighed over 200lbs and it went 125mph down a runway at the airport I worked at the time. Wish I still had it.
Two strokes - once you've heard one you've heard them all haha but that Detroit diesel 12v-71 sounded awesome.
A Vong I agree with you
My motorized bike sounds like these vehicles haha ! That's crazy
Couldnt agree less
My very first real job was driving a mining truck powered by a 2500hp quad turbo 16V149T, those things were loud enough to wake the dead. Such a cool sound.
The Trabant sounds a little different I Think
Anyone here after the recent f1 rumours about going 2 stroke
Shadow Fan lmao yes!! Wanted to hear what they could possibly sound like, not too bad by the sounds of it!
I can't imagine what F1 technology and innovation would do to the 2 stroke
These videos are just wonderful and you do an amazing job with them. I, too, had to learn a second language that is now my main language and the fact that you narrate these videos really impresses me. Thank you very much. They are highly appreciated.
loved the fire breathing saab 93. and the sonett. i hadn't known about the detroit diesel 2 strokes. and visio, i like your english. it's clear and not everyone should sound the same. like 2 strokes, you have your own distinctive sound.
You're English is better than some I've heard who are born and raised here. Thanks for the video
I like the English. This seems to be a passion for you and I love that. It's YOUR channel. Your choice. Keep it up. You're the original top-10 car channel and I'll always watch you and only your channel.
i like your accent. you speak better English than many people here in Canada. cool videos too.😊 keep it up👍
Thanks!
Is it just me or doesn't it always sound like 2 stroke engines sound like they're gonna die when idling
Yeah the 2 stroke mopeds and dirtbikes always sound like they are abt to die but not the cars i think
Nah, they sound like rotaries lol
I notice that too. Especially in husqvarna chainsaws. Sounds like a tin can motor bouncing up and down all over the place
@@randyrenne7759 my dirtbike idles pretty high. no it’s not the bike in my pfp my bike is a kx85
@@johns1625 lol that's kinda how they work, a lot of them use a mobile piston sleeve, because 2 strokes have no camshafts
Thanks for this video, very well made. My uncle, God rest his soul, was a Saab 2-stroke fanatic, he built at least 4 engines in his home shop and restored at least 3 or 4 old two stroke Saabs, I loved riding in those beasts, they sounded amazing. His dream was to build a monster 3 cylinder Saab engine with 3 carburetors and higher performance.
wow you've come a LONG WAY in 7 years, you sound different now, totally fluent. well done!
Sweet my video made it on here! Thanks for using it!
6:11 That car sounds like my 2 stroke Vespa.
That last Saab was bad ass xD
Unfortunately tuned to the point of losing all of the great low and mid range power those engines had. They were long stroke, old school Euro 2 cycles and they are getting rare as hens teeth, fun to hear, but damn as an owner I hate seeing them abused at RPMs they were never designed to run at.
TaUnc Fester rare? i can buy a saab 96 2stroke for like 500 bucks in finland lel
Also to make it even better it was raced at lemans in 1959
Love your videos and I like them a lot more since you've been narrating them. Keep up the good work 😁👍
Trabants also can sound pretty cool I think, but a huge like for starting with the Wartburg!
Never thought I'd say this, but damn that Diesel V12 is one of the best V12 exhaust notes I've ever heard.
I'm amazed by engines in general. I never stopped being amazed by cars and the ways they come in.
Now SPASS PUR MOTORSPORT has made a great step in the word wide web with the Two-Stroke Wartburg made by Wehle Racing. Thank you Guys.
you have forgotten the yamaha banshee!
Abdullah Al-duraibi ....that's cuz the Banshee is junk....
No he forgot the trx250r and quadzilla
Wr500 and wr250z
No
I love your topics, I love your content
My father loved 2 stroke motors. He called them 2 smokes. He bought any bike that was 2 stroke and he loved getting them running. The smell i cam remember so vividly.
I can understand the moderator perfectly. A lot better than some of the native English speakers I’ve heard. Good work!
dude all of this engine sounds like a rotary mazda engine some one sounds like a bike and sounds like a Honda engine but as always good video ;-)
Last Saab - best!
Ahhh I realy miss two strokes man.....all bikes 500cc or under should be two stroke. End of. Thanks for the vid..
Mytim34 Ouch! Can I cancel this sound with a jackhammer, pleaaase, I beg. Arrrrgh, stink me to the max. Stink with 30% more AND extra plus too.
Maico 700cc 2stroke
10:27
Holy symphonies, Visio, that car sounds amazing! Like music to one's ears.
My fave is truck at 7.40...sounds amazing. Going on sound alone, you would prob never guess it comes from a truck!
Now F1 wants to use 2 stroke engines by 2025
Lets do it fuck it
Oppoused Piston like T64 tank
i’d love that pure music
Naturally aspirated Diesel two strokes dont work. They are either supercharged or turbo and supercharged. They need the pressurized air intake to be able to run
They do work. They are naturally combined with a mechanical blower. That's their natural aspiration.
Anything with a supercharger or a turbocharger is using forced induction by definition. It can't be called "naturally aspirated", even if this is the minimum needed for the engine to operate.
This is why it is not called a supercharger, but rather a blower.
That doesn't make any sense.
VisioRacer sorry, but from my research, it is actually said that a N/A 2 stroke diesel is physically impossible, and "blower" still means supercharger
oooohhhhhh fuck yeah baby detroit diesel
I enjoy the voice over as it gives useful pieces of knowledge to the video that you otherwise wouldn't have known if you aren't a hardcore car knowledge connoisseur.
Music to my ears😊. Love the sound of 2 strokes
With the assumption that this script was written by you, I'd say your English is already more fluent than some native English speakers I know. Keep at it- your vocabulary is excellent, it's just the nuances and enunciation that need work.
Gotta say not having seen any of your content in some time I was surprised when I heard a voice.
Thank you, buddy!
Any chance you'll ever turn back to captioned-only videos?..
Yea, cant hear the engines over the speak
Coffee Pjesht 29th liker
Coffee Pjesht was gonna say the same thing.
Coffee Pjesht there many channels of this sort that are captioned without the voices.
xavmeister99 and alot sux cuz of that
The best sounding 2 stroke engine is my chainsaw
Top video! Love the three cylinder 1970 bikes. I've actually ridden the Kawasaki H1 500, and the GT 380, 550 and 750 as well. Wonderful turbine sound when under load.
Music to my ears ❤ I love these old 2-Stroke engines.
coeg those 3 cyl 2 stroke ,sounds like 911 porsche
They all have that rotary-esqe brap brap
Manny Hysten That's because both Wankel engines and 2 strokes produce 1 exhaust pulse per cylinder, or rotor, per revolution of the crankshaft, or eccentric shaft.
Wankels are such odd engines. They run on 4 cycles, but produce power more like a 2 cycle.
It'd be cool if there was a 2 stroke wankel
1:10 Stopped watching when I saw this muffler.
XOLiD why?
Probably first
Indeed
8:30 We had a similar coupe in 1950's and sixties in Brasil, largely used in racing. It was called Puma DKW / GT Malzoni. It has a 1 litre DKW / Auto Union 2 stroke engine. 75hp.
Also the first car of my grandparents in countryside was a DKW "jeep". Yep, a DKW-Vemag Candango. Also 1 litre 2 stroke, also a just front traction chepper version, also they lived in a slippery slope. So sometimes they had to back and increase speed to climb the hill.
quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. your English is getting super good, and you have an awesome accent! keep up the good work man
Thank you for your kind words!!
I'm fortunate and blessed to have driven several trucks with V8 Detroit engines. That sound was what got me into trucking.
That little Saab spitting flames, priceless. I love your channel!
-I likes that wittle Saab the bestest of all. Berry good lookin machine. And really does sound pretty good.
Visioracer..for me ,one of the best youtubers we can see today
Great video! People are complaining about your English? You have nothing to worry about, you can speak it better than half of the people here in England! :) Thanks very much!
Ignore the idiots that are giving you a hard time. You're doing great and have excellent videos. Keep up the good work.
What a blast! I used to tune 2strokes, had a 1976 yamaha rd 350, 667 in 1/8th mile, 122mph
I guess visio has never been aboard a Polaris RXL 650 snowmobile at full squeeze. The sweetest 3 cylinder, 2 stroke sound i have ever heard.
When I hear your voice I immediately know I'm turned into the good stuff. Thanks from Western Iowa
