      At 6:38 in the video, in the NAV screen, upper right, it says 1751.4z and 1.7 NM.
      What do they mean and how do you toggle that on and off?

    I am a former Flight Attendant so this makes a lot of sense to me. While I am not a pilot , I have learned so much during my years up there. + we had to learn the very basics like how to us the radio, keeping the ship level, speed and that sort of thing. I remember when Tcas first came out.
    Thank you for taking the time to explain … fly safe …….. ……. … .. ->-

    Captain, over my career I have flown millions of miles as a passenger in all classes and in all parts of the world, and often wondered what the pilots were doing upstairs or up front - and wondered how they managed all those buttons. In this video you explained in 7 minutes what all the buttons are for and in a way that someone like me can understand. Your take offs and landings consistently show better than any other similar videos, what it is like to fly a 747. CHECK!

    Superb explanation and tour around the instrument panel. Such an accomplished pilot (Daniel too, the co-pilot). I love to see and learn about the cockpit controls which enable this glorious aircraft to "work her magic!" I shall look up to watch her fly over me near Biggin Hill! It is clear the flight deck love their 747 and so do we. Long may she reign! The most beautiful and graceful carrier in the sky. Thanks so much Captain for these gems. Keep them coming. ❤️✈️

    Thank you for the through explanation. Can you please explain how the SECAL System works and is it still relevant in these modern times?

    • @romans2493
      @romans2493 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      it's only a backup System that Pilots or ATC can communicated over voice HF Frequency over special Area as Ex. North Atlantic. But it's low Qualtity communication with a lot of Noise in Backround. With the SELCAL, Pilots can mute the HF Radio and in the case of Voice call Request, ATC can send special 4Letter SELCAL Adressing Code to the Aircraft. For this Aircraft, you can see FH-BC under the Gear Lever. Than it makes it DingDong Bell in the Cockpit and Pilots can hear incomming ATC voice Call Request and Pilots tune on HF Radio Volume. It's not necessary monitoring HF Radio all the times. Normaly Communication is CPDLC.
