About the prize for this month
The McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 tri-engine with serial number (MSN) 47813 and line number 312 was built for the British company Laker Airways and delivered to the UK on March 24, 1980 with the registration series G-BGXG.
The plane flew for the airline founded by Freddie Laker in 1966 for 2 years, then returned to the United States. Here it was registered with the series N1854U and on September 21, 1984 it became part of the United Airlines fleet. It remained in service for this company for 17 years, first as a passenger plane and from September 1997 as a cargo type aircraft.
From March 23, 2001, our McDonnell Douglas - this time registered N326FE - entered the Federal Express fleet. The year 2006 marked the end of the leasing contract, the DC10-30 aircraft returning to United Airlines. In 2008, the leasing company Logistic Air took over the aircraft N326FE and transferred it to Roswell. Since then he has been waiting for his next mission, that of a member of the Aviationtag fleet.
