    What do you do for length?

  • @paulgabrielboss
    @paulgabrielboss 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    What I do is to get my running shoes wet and then put them in the tumble dryer together with some clothes for about 15 minutes. Not only that the wrinkles in the foam disappear, making them look brand new, but after 15 mins in there, the rubber/plastic in the heel softens and so I put the shoe stretcher in right away and stretch as much as I want. After they are dried, they actually keep the form given by the stretcher :)

    I have rock climbing shoes. They're supposed to be very tight with lots of feel & special soles. So if you're foot size is technically 7.6, but they only offer 7, 7.5, 8, etc., you can't pick 8 because the slop will kill you as you ascend Half Dome in Yosemite. So you gotta get 7.5 & stretch.

    It's actually the stiff rubber,plastic or leather upper toe areas on those types of shoes or boots that cause pain around the toe area of your feet.If you dont believe me please try wearing a pair of all canvas sneakers with a soft cloth upper toe area and feel the difference.

    I came to realize that the shape of most shoes do not match the shape of my feet. the widest lateral projection on my foot does not match the widest point of the shoes. It makes me wonder if I'm odd, or if manufacturers aren't looking at real feet??

    Amazon sells Brannock devices... for those that don't know what size they are. BUT some makers use their "own" size... like Nick's and White's boots. But at least you can have a standard, verified size to go off of... For example I am a 12C. And from there you could use a tape measure or ruler to measure your size, say 11 1/4 inches long or 28.6 centimeters.
    At the end of the day get a shoe or boot that fits. Of course if you have leather there will probably be a break in period. So wear them around the house, so you can return them if they don't fit.

      If you have cedar shoe trees you can jam them in there, pressing on the heel section to spread the front part. If you are talking about making them a little wider.

      Some people can't find skate shoes that fit. I have read all the blogs, done all the special shoe lace ties and nothing works for my husband. I laugh that some say certain shoes are for wide feet, than we try them and they are clearly not.... My husband doesn't have a hugely wide foot either. It was a normal width 15 years ago.

      You know some people like me don't feel it if the shoes are too tight while trying them out in the store because they don't know any better then they ask an employee of the shoe store to see if they fit and then these people say yes. So a few days ago I bought boots and they felt nice in the store but now that I've worn them for a day they are tight at the heel. And I can't bring them back.... So I need to widen them
