Aw I really hope they work for you too. There's very little between shoe widths but it makes the world of difference. Ideally I'd still look for shoes that are wide enough as is, or nearly as wide as you need if not. I'd also experiment with cheaper shoes first. With non leather sneakers, I found I needed to stretch them for 36-48 hours, wear them, and then stretch them again for them to stay wider. Best of luck.
Same. Wide foot problem. 7.5 length is perfect but even some 8 are still too narrow for me, but then they're too long lol. Only shoe I found that fit perfect was Fox Racing, but they quit making shoes.
Thanks so much for your video. I bought sneakers I love but were too short. They've been sitting in my closet until your video. I tried other videos that didn't work. With your explanation I succeeded in stretching them so they're comfortable. I'm thrilled to be able to wear them!😉
This thing is a life saver. As someone who trift for vintage boots, this contraption is a big help. If you use strecher spray or dampen the boots beforehand, it will take a shorter time to stretch. I've stretched some boots to 1 size up
They do work! I have them. Mine even have little plastic dodads for corns. Mine are wood. It also helps to wet the inside of the shoe (leather). I let them sit overnight and voila! Good video! ♥️
Glad they work for you too Linda - thanks for sharing your tips. Mine came with the extra doodads for bunions etc too, but no need for those yet - touch wood!
I like the way you say bunions! Seriously, I just received my stretchers and thought "I need a lesson from TH-cam." Thanks for the straightforward video!
thank you so much dear!! i bought them on amazon and i didnt knw how to use them , i thought mine was broken! ahah super helpful and great explaination ..
Thanks for the product update. I'd used shoe stretchers after dampening. My good friend Donna was in shock when she found out a stretched her Chanel stilettos from a US 7 1/2 medium to an 8 1/2 narrow. Giggle. ;)
Thanks for sharing Debbie. So you find dampening makes the stretchers work better? This is the first I’ve heard of making shoes narrower too - wow! Narrow shoes are really hard to find in big sizes. Sorry for delayed reply, I only spotted your comment now.
@@debbiekeds9355 yes while I’ve had success so far widening shoes across the joint (widest part of foot) I’d say adding more space around the toes is trickier. My stretcher did come with bits you could stick on near the top sides but they are meant for bunions. There are some brands doing wider toe boxes e.g. Ally NYC (4 widths) & Calla (uk/us).
Fantastic clear informal but informative video. Very relaxing to watch, so many informative videos have annoying music or overly excited overly produced people. You are what a TH-cam review videos should look like for the sane 😄 I do have a question. Do you think wetting the shoe fabric or heating in the sunlight would assist/help with the stretching?
Wow thanks for the compliments. 😊 I've had feedback from others that wetting or spraying the shoes helps stretching alright. I've never tried it yet because just using the shoe stretcher on its own has always worked for me so far and means I don't have to stress about wetting the shoes causing any change in appearance or damage etc. I'd be wary of exposure to sunlight affecting the colour of the shoes though.
@@guyredares ah, then they might just shrink back themselves if you leave them a while without wearing them. I find I need to restretch non leather shoes/sneakers the following season after a gap wearing them
Sorry for delay in reply - I didn’t get notified of your comment. I didn’t do any other treatment at all - just used the stretcher on my shoes as they were. I’ve since heard from a couple of shoe store owners that using stretching sprays or even just damping them first can improve the effect, but haven’t tried it myself.
you are awesome.. i always see the coolest shoes on aliexpress and my feet are just .5cm than their biggest size.. hopefully i can get it and stretch it, thank you 💜
It’s worth a try and I really hope it works for youyou 🤞🤞.5cm is just over half a US shoe size though & about 3/4 of a euro size. So that’s about the max I’ve been able to stretch the length of leather shoes. Synthetic shoes may not stretch as well, but if it’s not much money it’s worth trying. Lots of luck 🍀
@@devmore8942 yes indeed they’re designed to do both at the same time. But from my experience they’re more effective at widening. Lengthwise I’ve been able to stretch at most half a US/UK size
@@michelledoughty1475 that's fantastic Michelle! Thanks for sharing & I hope his blisters heal soon. I find compeed plasters great for blisters (pity they're so dear mind).
Great I really hope it works for you! If they’re leather you should be able to stretch the length that amount. 4 new pairs to wear at long last would be awesome good luck!
@@ben.x I only wish I had pretty small feet! 😊 I’d still recommend trying to find brands that are wide enough e.g. some sports brands like brooks & new balance do different widths. But if you already have shoes that feel too narrow or really want a shoe that doesn’t come wide enough, this has worked very well for me, especially with leather
It’s been a one time thing for me with leather and suede. Man made materials keep the stretch fairly well too once I wear the shoes regularly, but say my fabric Toms would need restretching each summer.
If you can still return your New Balance shoes I’d do that instead, but if you’ve already been wearing them and they don’t feel wide enough, it’s worth a try. I’ve successfully stretched 2 pairs of sneakers this way to make them wider. They were giving my little toes blisters but now I can wear them fine. But if the problem is your toes are too long, stretching the length may not work as well. Hope this helps
Sorry to hear this. I’d return them if you still can, but if that’s no longer seen option shoe stretchers may well be able to make them wider and more comfy. It’s worked for 2 pairs of sneakers that were rubbing my pinky toes
1. Do you mean a shoe stretcher doesn't have to be either right or left, one as it is applies on both legs? 2. Are there kids shoe stretchers? or this big one is applicable to all?
Hi Kizito, my kit has 2 identical shoe stretchers, so the left looks the same as the right. I’ve seen shoe stretchers in 3 sizes: child, smaller adult (women) and larger adult (men). The stretcher in this video is the men’s size so you would need a smaller child version for children’s shoes.
Yes I find 48 hours works best, but the instructions say 24 hours I think. The longer you leave them, the better the chance they will stay stretched. Although if you don’t wear them long term, you may need to repeat the stretching again. Hope this helps
The width doesn’t affect which stretcher you need Staci. Any shoe stretcher that works for size 8 (which should be all small-medium or women’s ones) will do. It makes whatever shoe you use it on wider. So an already wide shoe will become even wider but it works best for shoes made of leather or other materials which have material stretch in them. Hope this helps
Please could anyone answer me , do they truly work on leather shoes . Because i mistakenly bought a leather shoes love it so much but later got to know that it’s too small for my feet and don’t want to dispose it away
If they’re not wide enough, the shoe stretcher should work great. If they’re much too short, it may not work. I’ve only been able to make shoes feel about half a size longer to date. But leather shoes do stretch best so it’s well worth a go if you want to keep and wear the shoes. Hope this helps & good luck 🤞
I don't have any converse so can't advise on this unfortunately. But I have used it on canvas fabric TOMS (the pink pair shown in the video) and it worked fairly well for me. It's just the effect doesn't last unless you wear the shoes all the time, so I need to keep restretching them if I haven't been wearing them.
All the shoes I wear regularly have stayed stretched. But I do need to stretch seasonal shoes each year, especially fabric/synthetic shoes. My suede winter boots stay a little wider permanently, but I still stretch them every year to get max benefit.
I’m afraid I don’t know as I’ve never tried wetting shoes to stretch them. I just always use my shoe stretchers on their own & leaving them about 48 hours if possible works best
Sorry for late reply - I only saw this comment now. The suede boots kept the new wider shape despite not wearing them much initially. I think the canvas toms needed a bit of stretching again when it had been a while between wearing. But the canvas hadn’t stretched as well as the leather anyway & is more of a fixed fabric.
@Pretty Big Shoes The stretcher I own is very similar to yours, only mine is specifically designed to stretch boots and stretches the instep rather than the width or length. It makes putting boots on so much easier.
