The Flash in the DCEU didn't feel fast at all. The CW with a way lower budget was able to capture the intensity of the speed Barry was going. IMO even Quicksilver from the Marvel movie universe seemed faster. 2 Years Later Edit: I just realized people think I'm talking about the actual speeds of the characters, I'm not. Grant looks more natural than Erza, the only thing that could be improved is his humorous side, more jokes like the comic character. On the other hand, Erza's flash looks like is forcing the humour, sometimes that is a bit of a shame...
Well he was more humorous in Season 1 and in the beginning of Season 4. I think he's as it should be, based on the situation at hand. Facing the guy who killed his mother, facing a demonic speedster that fucked him up on their first encounter and ended up killing his father, facing his evil future self and trying to prevent him from killing the love of his life, and being betrayed over and over by people who were his mentors and turned out to be the villains. I'm not sure it would be appropriate for him to make jokes in these situations, and comic book Barry wouldn't make jokes in these situations either. When there's no imminent danger, or a massive threat, he's had his light-hearted moments too. But as the story progressed and got deeper into fucked up things, it's to be expected that Barry would be more serious. Even Spider-Man stops joking around when facing an enemy who killed someone he loved.

Another person I will have to agree with! The show is more like the comics because of all the reasons you have said! The whole CW platform in my opinion has been way better because it doesn't just smack you right in the face saying that no main characters will die. Warner Bros did, however, kill off a main character in which I thought (sadly and weirdly) was great! The movie showed that Warner Bros wasn't afraid to kill off a main character, however, in Justice League they didn't full-fill the potential they granted. In the Arrow-verse where Grant Gustin is "located" the CW did show that they aren't afraid to kill off a main character like Laurel Lance and Captain Cold. The CW has done a whole lot with the comics and even changed some things up so they weren't just flat-out copying the comics. (Sorry for rambling on)

While there are aspects about the DCEU that I don't care for, I want to see it stay around long enough that we can work up to a Titans movie with Wally, Dick, Donna, Roy, Garth, Vic, Kori, Raven and Gar.
Luckily the DCEU acts practically just like Wally. Yes he’s still Barry and has his backstory and all, but his Flash has the attitude of the Justice League Animated Series Flash.
Grant Gustin's flash has a lot more character development than Ezra Millers. I prefer Gustin's take on the character but Millers flash more funnier. And has less drama aside from Gustin's flash.
In my opinion while miller does have way more goofy scenes a lot of them are pretty bad humor instead in the Flash while there are not as many most are pretty darn funny.
I like them both, I think they both had insteresting takes on the character, I think many people like Grant at this point more because they've had more time to get to see his performance (which is amazing) and because much like Stephen Amell, Grant has gone out of his way to reach out and connect with his fans. Anytime you combine talented acting with an all around nice and decent person like Grant and Ezra it's going to make it hard to choose between them. And yes a crossover needs to happen, can you imagine the ratings on an episode where they race?
I loved Ezra in the movie, he was one of my favorite things about it, but Grant's always gonna be the Flash for me. I never saw the 90's series with John Wesley Shipp, I know about it, but I've never actually seen it, so I can't compare these two with him, but I do love him as Jay Garrick and Henry Allen. Also, people can talk shit about the Arrowverse costumes all they want, I love the more simplistic, leather-jackets type costumes they have. You guys have to keep in mind that it's a TV Show, with a TV Show's budget, let's remember what "costumes" everyone had in Smallville, guys. I bet it was a huge hassle to give Atom and Savitar their pseudo Iron Man suits as it were, if everyone got a fully armored suit like Ezra's suit, it would be complicated. And you can't say Season 4 Flash's suit or the Reverse Flash suit aren't good, those suits are really well made!
They should've never changed the flash actor, they should've just gone with Grant Gustin. He is already so well established as the flash. If Grant was the flash is the justice league movies there would be so many people going to watch the movie just to see Grant as the flash. I like both of them but...in CW The Flash show's writers are a bit lame. The problem with Grant is he play too much Barry Allen. He need to focus more on Flash. It's Aron Barry Allen is the Flash and vice versa. It's not like Batman, Spider-Man, or Superman where their alter egos are basically different identities. Hell, in comics, Barry's even widely known to be the flash to the public (eventually). There isn't a distinction of the Flash and Barry because that's not how the character is, that's not the type of hero he is.

I really hated Ezra Miller's take on the character. I really don't like the "I'm autistic but in a funny way" thing. I found his performance annoying and his character incompetent. The TV version, while plagued with soap opera schlock, is still leagues better (pun intended).
When I first knew that Ezer Miller was playing Flash I was a little mad since I always thought that they might take Gustin to big screens and although Ezer's Flash wasn't bad I would have loved a pre-established Flash joining the Justice League i.e. Grant Gustin's Flash.

He still lacks Experience but the CW Flash has only had access to the Speedforce in s2 of the series if I'm correct and DCEU's Flash literally affects everything around him whilst CW's Flash everyone can see that his gone.... In terms OF experience CW got it but if DCEU Flash were to have more movies based on his experience he'd be on a completely different level

Ezra just makes me think of Wally, not Barry. I think it's partly because Barry was an equal within the Justice League, while a less experienced Wally joined later, making it more like the dynamic in the movie. And he reminds me of the Justice League cartoon's Flash, who was Wally.
At the beginning I was expecting him to say the Flash but instead he said 0:16 (When the movie ended) It caught me off guard and I laughed a little harder than I should have

I appreciate both, but like the Arrowverse version better. Arrowverse Flash mixes comic book campiness with emotional depth and is really fun to watch. DCEU Flash is fun too, but he lacks depth (so far anyways). He feels like he's more comic relief than anything
The love for his mom in Grant Gustin's Flash is what really made it all starting , It's the burning force inside him that wants to save his father and bring the reverse flash to justice, That's the key reason y he became detective and embraced the power of the flash i think there is a lot of emotional connect to cw's flash and now they are adding more humor to it

Grant Gustin is the perfect role for the Flash. But I’m glad they didn’t put him for the Justice League movie. It’s best for two people to play The Flash. One with a movie, one with a show.

Luckily the DCEU acts practically just like Wally. Yes he’s still Barry and has his backstory and all, but his Flash has the attitude of the Justice League Animated Series Flash.

Grant Gustin's flash has a lot more character development than Ezra Millers. I prefer Gustin's take on the character but Millers flash more funnier. And has less drama aside from Gustin's flash.
In my opinion while miller does have way more goofy scenes a lot of them are pretty bad humor instead in the Flash while there are not as many most are pretty darn funny.
I like them both, I think they both had insteresting takes on the character, I think many people like Grant at this point more because they've had more time to get to see his performance (which is amazing) and because much like Stephen Amell, Grant has gone out of his way to reach out and connect with his fans.
Anytime you combine talented acting with an all around nice and decent person like Grant and Ezra it's going to make it hard to choose between them.
And yes a crossover needs to happen, can you imagine the ratings on an episode where they race?

I was disappointed with Miller's flash
I loved Ezra in the movie, he was one of my favorite things about it, but Grant's always gonna be the Flash for me. I never saw the 90's series with John Wesley Shipp, I know about it, but I've never actually seen it, so I can't compare these two with him, but I do love him as Jay Garrick and Henry Allen. Also, people can talk shit about the Arrowverse costumes all they want, I love the more simplistic, leather-jackets type costumes they have. You guys have to keep in mind that it's a TV Show, with a TV Show's budget, let's remember what "costumes" everyone had in Smallville, guys. I bet it was a huge hassle to give Atom and Savitar their pseudo Iron Man suits as it were, if everyone got a fully armored suit like Ezra's suit, it would be complicated. And you can't say Season 4 Flash's suit or the Reverse Flash suit aren't good, those suits are really well made!

They should've never changed the flash actor, they should've just gone with Grant Gustin. He is already so well established as the flash. If Grant was the flash is the justice league movies there would be so many people going to watch the movie just to see Grant as the flash. I'm still mad that Arrow had to cancel the Suicide Squad on the tv because of the Suicide Squad movie.

Ezra Miller is a good funny Flash but not a great casting for the character.
It's Aron Barry Allen is the Flash and vice versa. It's not like Batman, Spider-Man, or Superman where their alter egos are basically different identities. Hell, in comics, Barry's even widely known to be the flash to the public (eventually). There isn't a distinction of the Flash and Barry because that's not how the character is, that's not the type of hero he is.
It's Aron you really haven’t looked into the show that much. Compared to grant Ezra was a terrible flash, he portrayed the character in a terrible way and overall the writing was just.. awful.
I hated Ezra’s flash at first but when I saw the Snyder cut I loved his role for the character as it was developed so much better but the CW flash is still my favorite
@Eth4n CODM in the weddon cut instead of just putting the characters in there and rushing the battles they fix it my taking time to get to know the characters so u have more of a feeling towards them in the Snyder cut

I really hated Ezra Miller's take on the character. I really don't like the "I'm autistic but in a funny way" thing. I found his performance annoying and his character incompetent. The TV version, while plagued with soap opera schlock, is still leagues better (pun intended).
When I first knew that Ezer Miller was playing Flash I was a little mad since I always thought that they might take Gustin to big screens and although Ezer's Flash wasn't bad I would have loved a pre-established Flash joining the Justice League i.e. Grant Gustin's Flash.
To me GRANT ALL THE WAY I liked Ezra millers no doubt but I have been watching grant since I was younger and he grew on me as the flash so ya.

I'd say DCEU is my favorite because of one reason which is the Speedforce..... He still lacks Experience but the CW Flash has only had access to the Speedforce in s2 of the series if I'm correct and DCEU's Flash literally affects everything around him whilst CW's Flash everyone can see that his gone.... In terms OF experience CW got it but if DCEU Flash were to have more movies based on his experience he'd be on a completely different level

I think it's partly because Barry was an equal within the Justice League, while a less experienced Wally joined later, making it more like the dynamic in the movie. And he reminds me of the Justice League cartoon's Flash, who was Wally.

I appreciate both, but like the Arrowverse version better. Arrowverse Flash mixes comic book campiness with emotional depth and is really fun to watch. DCEU Flash is fun too, but he lacks depth (so far anyways). He feels like he's more comic relief than anything
