As soon as you mentioned the transmission swap, I knew what the problem was. I immediately thought “crank sensor wires!”. Common situation.

That's a common issue with Rams and Dakota s too I've seen ASE certified mechanics do this so don't feel bad lol

Looks like pulling the transmission is almost your only option to installing a new crankshaft positioning sensor. 95 Rams had a reseccessed 6 mm hex head ..96 and up had a 13 mm bolts. Holding the sensor in place. Your thoughts?

Hey man good video by the way, I have the same truck for 12 years now. Never had a major problem with it alway been keep as well. Started to get hard to start then one day just wouldn't, try to start then start for a brief half second then wont again till I let it set for a couple of hours. Gets gas fine, I changed plugs wires Distributor cap ignition coil and still the same... Think it will be the crankshaft? Or something else, no check motor light on...

I wouldn't worry about a little piece of wire in the bellhousing. It will get chewed right up. If it was a bolt or something , then it would have to come back apart.

I stared it touching the wires, at least to move it home but the air and windows don't work.

What fuse it keep blowing? And do you have any other electrical hooked to battery or something that's pulling more voltage than normal factory?
