My first (and possibly last) game review-esque video is here! Wanted to do this ever since I found out that Matchbox: Driving Adventure is a thing, so here it is. Let me know your thoughts!
This would be great as a free mobile game. For £35 this is a bad joke. "Over 10 customisable vehicles to choose from!" Mate, Unreal Tournament 2004 had over 10 vehicles and it wasn't even a racing game, do better. Mattel really have no idea what to do with Matchbox.
Mattel seems to kinda forget they have a lot of their brands, at least with Matchbox, they let whoever is in charge just do what they want, and that person in charge is actually pretty good and has been releasing some banger diecast cars. As for this game though, yeah it was clearly just some Mattel executive remembering they have the brand and being like, "Oh yeah, make that into a game."
Absolutely! Wouldn't have even been hard to do, Matchbox/Mattel does already have all the licensing agreements to all the companies, it wouldn't have been to hard to work out the finer details and get some Ford or Bentley in the game.
"Now, just as a quick sidenote for real-life diecasts, I actually prefer Matchbox, because more real-life cars..." I'm pretty much the same. I'm not really loyal to one brand over the other, but I do definitely prefer the real-world cars. I saw that Rivian animation in the first minute of the video, and it gave me false hope that that was gameplay footage and there would be licensed cars. But no, instead the Matchbox game looks like a fancy browser game.
Yeah, that's a pretty good way to sum it up. I feel like if I wanted the ultimate experience, I should just make a track out of cardboard or something and use my own diecast cars, lol
Fully agree on that one! Definitely going to pick it up as well when it goes on sale, perhaps I could get Steam remote connect or whatever it's called to work on it, that might be a fun option if that actually works.
Outside of the not actually playing the game part this was a real good review, entertaining and a nice voice. I can see you going far, Ill check out your other videos later today.
You reviewed 2 games Yet you didn’t even play one of the games?! I watched this entire video just to find out you didn’t even play the game? Makes this review seem disingenuous, other then that though it was a well edited put together video with some solid information just felt a little let down at the end );
Yeah, I'm not totally proud about it, but I still stand behind everything I said, I did my research well. Definitely a learning experience though, no more game reviews without owning the game myself.
@@cartoonist_key appreciate the response, and I agree with what you said, this definitely is a well researched video, and In future defo play the games you review I’m subscribing C:
Next game for both is a game called hot box or match wheels where you can race both match box and hot wheels together to find out who is the better toy car brand
I mean, as far as games go, yes, yes it did. Though the actual cars themselves have been good, lot of great licensed vehicles I never expected to see as a diecast.

The video is pretty funny and it’s really good! It describes the games well and it tells lots about them! I love the video.
_"We have Hot Wheels Unleashed at home"_
You know Mattel owns both hot wheels and matchbox, did you even watch the video 💀
@@Torboy124 I'm aware that Mattel owms both, that fact doesn't change the above statement.

Licensed vehicles would have saved this tbh

Happy to have you here! 👍

Milestone Devs should have made a Matchbox game. I might pick this up during a sale for splitscreen

This game got the short end of the stick compared to Hotwheels
This reminds me how i was disappointed in how super short Matchbox Cross Town Heroes were
Review Hot Wheels Monster Trucks: Stunt Mayhem which came out yesterday but it was developed by 3DClouds
Saw that in pop up in my latest spam from Gamestop, I'm definitely considering it. It's not quite a Matchbox game though, so no guarantees.
pls tell me the name of the cow matchbox with sunglasses
"Milk Moo-ver," 2004, Hero City line. Peak Matchbox.

Happy to hear that! I've still got some ways to go, but the dream is alive. 👍
It should have been more of a simulation or quest based game yeah... No idea why they made it arcade and compete with themselves
It's basically just a cash-grab that'll wind up in the Walmart bargain-bin because it's simply way to expensive for what it is.
I won't lie, seeing wooden Thomas pop up for a split second in the "cars I want in Unleashed 2" segment made me laugh
Top tier joke tbh
It was on my desk at the time, I had to sneak it in.
i thought the matchbox game was a roblox game💀💀💀
the new hot wheels worlds best driver
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 has dead servers? I couldn't find any game nor even upload my car paintjobs so I can use them
Really? Never noticed that myself, maybe it's a recent development.
This game could have been so awesome bro, why did they have so few cars💀
They probably knew I had to rant about something.
I need to download this🤔
Believe it or not I actually like the environment in this game better sure the hot wheels game was realistic but it didn’t feel arcade enough 😅
Tbh, I understand where you're coming from, if it had a bit more polish, it totally would feel like the proper Matchbox world.
(And it's worse *than I thought)
Thanks for pointing that one out, chocolate bar and a half to ya! 👍

Reviewing a game you haven't played...
I ain't payin' scam prices, I'll play it once it goes for a decent sale.

Hot Wheels would totally win up until the point where the road disappears, then Matchbox would have the advantage.
