I think this much nicer inside than premium alternatives and if judged against Audi, Mercedes, Volvo etc you get an awful lot for the money. I actually thought this handled really well.
My wife drives 2016 CX 5 and we both love the car. Last week I was doing groceries and next to the supermarket is Mazda dealer and I said to my self, let's do test drive with CX 30. This was mistake. Ever since I can't stop thinking how good this car is! Left great impression, especially interior quality and ride quality including tire roar which is on very low level. This car feels very premium. Bose speakers are great too. So now I want to trade my wife's Mazda CX 5 for CX 30, I am working on it and it will be surprise for my wife :-)
@Paul Attard Which plastic?? We got a car few weeks ago and we are more than happy. Interior has very premium feel and very little plastic. I am driving Mercedes E300d 2019 and Mazda CX 30 is very close to premium feel of the interior as in the E Class.. And for the record speakers in my wife's Mazda are better than mine in Mercedes. Yes I could have pay from premium speakers in my car for 2200 euros extra cost, in Mazda they come with second trip level for 1200 euros and other extras included.

They’ve also introduced small interior improvements, most notably the interiors on all but the top two trims are all black, no longer with blue (yuk!) accents!

I have tested both the Skyactive G and the Skyactive X. I bought the X. So much better. Of all the rewiews I have seen, this is the only one that recommends the G engine.
Interesting that the 2.5L Skyactive G engine isn't offered - It's the only engine offered here in the US and it's combined with the 6 speed auto transmission only.
We have just ordered the x . We had a hard decision to decide between the 122bhp G or the 186bhp X. I know the engine in the G is pretty quite . Is the X more noisy do you think or will this be quiet as the G?
Actually, the Autogefuhl review of the CX-30 also recommends the G variant. I'd be nervous of buying the X engine as it is such new technology and it remains to be seen whether it could become problematic. What I don't understand is why there is a 150bhp version of the G engine in Europe but in the UK we either have to choose 122bhp for the G or buy the more expensive and unproven X variant!

I would love to hear the long term experiences with the Mazda CX-30 from their owners! I also test drove both the CX-5 and the CX-30, and decided to go with the CX-30. It is a much fun car to drive, especially in City driving! the Mazda cx-30 tight space is not an issue for me; as I just fold down the back seats, and now have plenty of space for groceries, going camping, or on long trips!
Parents just bought one. It’s really a lovely car - nicely made interior and comfy. Defo reccomend the higher spec ones if you can (their GT Sport tech feels nicer than the entry level SEL Lux for sure)
I got the new 2024 CX-30 Evolve in Australia it's just a little over AUD$40000 with the red colour (extra for some colours like the red ones) It is very good for a female driver like me as it's not a big and long version like some SUV, therefore it's easier for me to drive around and do reverse parking. Mazda cars with the i- stop definitely help with saving on the gasoline.

Hi thanks for the video . Very Informative . Is the skyactiv g 122bhp se l lux auto good one to get . We want a comfortable , safe car with good quality interior . Me and wife will be sharing this car . I appreciate the back not so spacious but we only need it for our five year old so I think enough space . Would be grateful for your comments regarding the model we have picked or should we have gone for the 185bhp?
I have the 2 ltr skyactive in my mx5 rf. I don’t like the low rev stuttering when cold particularly. You are almost better off ignoring first gear. I wonder does the automatic do away with this stuttering ? The only way to get the best of it in the mx 5 is to scream the nuts off it. Then it flies. I love the look of it so I’ll try it. I’m not keen on 3 cylinder Turbos either. I miss a proper old school engine.
Mazda's actually have an enviable reliability record. One of our Mazda's didn't need a major repair until it was 40 and another is now 30 and has never had a major repair...
Quoting the mpg for the poorer sky active G engine whilst leaning of the car being reviewed which has the way more economical and better performing Sky Active X engine which returns almost 50mpg. In my opinion that is biased reviewing! Trying to get people to buy a Skoda by the sound of it. Comparing both with petrol front wheel drive with the Sky ActiveX engine I would suggest people compare the figures for themselves first, such as mpg, 0-62 and emissions.
Hey there - the CX-3 is temporarily off sale but could be back later this year with new engines! This CX-30 sits above that, but below the bigger CX-5 (a bit confusing, we know!)
We have it in the U.S........but the CX-3 is really small......nice......but much smaller than CX-30........in the U.S. the CX-3 has 2.0 engine to the CX-30 2.5........
The CX-3 is still available in the US, but only the Sport trim line is available for 2020. On first glance the CX-3 and CX-30 look similar, but I test drove them back to back, and the difference is quite clear. The 3 is OK in the front, way too cramped in the back. Road noise is quite noticeable and the ride is fairly harsh. Comparatively, the CX-30 feels great in the front, very spacious, and downright luxurious. The back seat is not great, but much more comfortable than the 3. The ride is very smooth and quiet compared to the CX-3 or our old Honda Fit. Test driving them back to back, the CX-3 was not even on the list of contenders for our next car, and the CX-30 was a clear winner over other brands and models we were interested in. If we could afford a few more bucks the Volvo XC-40 might be a contender, but the Volvo starts a few thousand above the top of the line CX-30 here. We didn't even test it because we can't afford it.
It is a shame that the build-in engines are so lame and the opposite of sporty. The looks and feel of the 2019er Mazdas a great, but the engines are a trade-off.
This is a great vehicle... what in the hell is this guy talking about? Dude it’s not a Lamborghini or Ferrari!!!! I know you Europeans like speedy cars. But your doing a review on family style car! This dude aggravated me! Smh
What Car are biased towards VW family cars and against Japanese and Korean cars. If VW released a turd they would find a way to give it a glowing review and tell you it was better than a Mazda, Toyota or Kia.
he did recomend the lower powered engine actually & he's just mentioning the driver involment just cus there are some people who want a car that's fun to drive
Had 2 Mazda 626's years ago, then went for the Honda Accord EURO. That was and still is a great car, but no longer produced for our Aussie market. My son has just bought the Diesel CX5, and loves, carrying on the tradition.
@@cristiplacintaru5578cx5 does not have a 7 seat option available so still competes with skoda karoq & VW Tiguan. However cx30 should be compared with VW T roc and Toyota CH-R
I would love to Mazda go to a rear wheel drive line up. I think it would really set them apart from all their competitors and would aim right at BMW and MB. They already have the know how with MX-5. Mazdas have the looks but fall short with their performance.
So the engine is a problem because its not turbo charged and feels weedy. Then you recommend the 2.0 litre instead of the 2.5.. yeh ok mate dont contradict yourself or anything. There is no problem with the 2.5 its more then enough and the fuel economy is still good.
You believe or not... i drove a mazda 2 2008 .. i gave it to service and they gave me a cx 30 for one day. I wanted to try.. i went autobahn top speeds. 2008 mazda 2 is much much more satabil at high speed. I drove many cars and only feel really safe with mazdas before 2014 and fords... mazdas before 2014 also mazda ford productions. I keep with mazda 2 2008 ... which drives better more than 80 percent of bigger cars
Just be warned.......You CANNOT take this vehical thru any drive thru, because the windowsill is SO high You CANNOT reach out to get Your order.........Paul
Mazda cx30 isn’t based on a supermini like a Mazda cx3 is. So it’s meant to compete with the like of the VW T Roc, Toyota CH-R & BMW X2 on the premium end
I like the sporty look and performance. However, I may opt for a Toyota Corolla Cross. They both come nicely equipped and even though the Cross is a tad under powered, I really noticed the extra head room and the larger cargo capacity area of the Cross.
Having looked at the China model CX-4 am left wondering why Mazda didn’t just bring it to the UK (and rest of Europe), and instead plumped for this virtual CX-3 replacement instead. Also opting for a non-touchscreen is a mistake when the market is clearly moving to smartphone mirroring such as Apple CarPlay.
I disagree on your take about the touchscreen. They are terrible to use while driving because they demand your full atention as opposed to this new “knob” that mazda is using that gives you the chance to operate the screen at just a glance.
The worse thing about Mazdas is their automatic transmission. They are using an outdated 6 speed auto which uses a crappy lock-up torque converted system (supposedly to save fuel). If you know how lock-up torque converters work and how it feels you will be able to tell that it is slow in reacting in situations like when you decelerate and suddenly accelerate, for example going through a sharp bend then accelerating, this causes a small delay (it is the lock up engaging/disengaging) it feels so bad and in certain situations it produces a jolt/jerk, and in other situations a half-a-second delay for the gears to engage- it also sometimes feels like a gear has changed when in fact it is the lock-up clutch engaging and sometimes the system is unable to synchronize this correctly with engine revs and you end up in a small thud/jolt which can be slightly felt depending on speed. it more evident in slow speeds or when the fluids are still cold. There are a lot of complaints online and the earlier skyactiv models were so bad there was a recall by Mazda for their transmissions, yet they still haven't made any significant changes to their crappy 6spd auto since 2012. It is the worse thing about a Mazda and a reason to stay away. Not only that, they also fail very easily, you basically have to baby them, my CX5 failed at 30,000kms and this was my wife's vehicle driving to and from work (thankfully still in warranty). 90% of the people who buy Mazda's unfortunately will not notice this and when I took mine to Mazda the mechanics said the same thing, so this goes under-reported but I am sure Mazda knows about it.
For me neither are particularly ideal, a VW t Roc is a better choice for rear space, it’s in the same class as the CX30, a small SUV based on a C segment car
I've just brought one of these in sports lux and the Mazda garage has charged me £350 for the puddle lights, I feel ripped off hearing you say they are £49

CX 3.75
Or they should have called it the CX 3, and the CX 3 be changed to cx2, as it is based on the mazda2.
CX-30 in the U.S. gets a 2.5 186hp engine with a 6 spd auto........no manual........very competitive price here........might get one

I just stay away from any European Brands Car. Japan and American car on my top list.
he did recomend the lower powered engine actually & he's just mentioning the driver involment just cus there are some people who want a car that's fun to drive
I’d personally go for any Kia, Hyundai or genesis
Once Mazda driver always Mazda driver
Had 2 Mazda 626's years ago, then went for the Honda Accord EURO. That was and still is a great car, but no longer produced for our Aussie market. My son has just bought the Diesel CX5, and loves, carrying on the tradition.
I'm driving with my 5th mazda 6 all new ones, and still loving it .
and i think my next car is a mazda 6 ?
Check info.
In your comments on the engine you said Skyactiv-G. The vidio shows a Skyactiv_X.
Great review work mate.
Great Video Review
Wrong : this must be compared with Kona, Stonic etc; CX-5 with Ateca,Karoq ...
Look at the dimensions and weight of these cars. CX30 is C segment Suv. Kona and company are B segment.
@@BariarnilforG So , CX-5 goes against Kodiak, Terraco ? I think NO !
@@cristiplacintaru5578cx5 does not have a 7 seat option available so still competes with skoda karoq & VW Tiguan. However cx30 should be compared with VW T roc and Toyota CH-R
Did he mention the karoq?

You don't sit higher than in the hatchback. So there is absolutely no reason left to get this over the hatchback.
I traded my 2017 hatchback for one, and you do in fact sit higher.
Granted I have not sit in one (yet) by the dimensions alone I would say you would have to sit some what higher?
It's over an inch taller in ground clearance and the seats sit higher than the 3 hatch. You do sit noticeably higher.
CX-30 has way better visibility than 3 hatch........but probably doesn't handle as well because of height and weight difference.......
Cargo room, outward vision. The 3 has been severely criticized as a car you can't see out of, especially to the back.
Mazda the hidden gem
I would love to Mazda go to a rear wheel drive line up. I think it would really set them apart from all their competitors and would aim right at BMW and MB. They already have the know how with MX-5. Mazdas have the looks but fall short with their performance.
Wait parking sensor standard? Does it have sensors in USA?
At last a car reviewer who doesnt put on a silly patronising voice 👏
The suspension sounds almost like it is crashing over the road.
Suspension is more than fine...
How doe this compare to a t-roc or t-cross?
It’s similar size to a VW T-Roc, T-Cross is smaller
You say VW brands have 3yr warranty - in Poland Seat offers 5yr as standard
Skyactive-X all the way. its a superb engine and the automatic box is gorgeous to drive. What's this guy on?
The manual gearbox in the CX 30 is way better. Mazda manual gearboxes are so good. They have so much feel. The Autos are a bit sluggish
Just got the cx30 gt sport as my first car, I'm 17 y/o im not a family but I'll do lmao
Of all car enthusiasts I've had watched, you're the one who say more negative than positive and it feels like you're pushing us to buy Volkswagen,
I wouldn’t even get a VW group car
Kia/Hyundai all the way
Looks great but too low to the ground for me and i found the seating uncomfortable
You got fuel economy for skyactiv g but youre reviewing a skyactiv x ? Im confused...
I was left with a feeling that this was more a Skoda or Seat review, than a Mazda review. Not very well thought through.
punted my 17 plate cx3 sports nav and got new puma st-line x first ed .....love it
Massive downside is the wheel for satnav, back space and the MPG :(
So the engine is a problem because its not turbo charged and feels weedy.
So unless you take it out on the road its a good car. What's the point in buying a car if it's not nice to drive.
Just be warned.......You CANNOT take this vehical thru any drive thru, because the windowsill is SO high You CANNOT reach out to get Your order.........Paul

Isnt Karoq a mid sized SUV? It competes with the CX5 and not the CX30 in my opinion.
Mazda cx30 isn’t based on a supermini like a Mazda cx3 is. So it’s meant to compete with the like of the VW T Roc, Toyota CH-R & BMW X2 on the premium end
Could I tag my gate remote to cx30
I like the sporty look and performance. However, I may opt for a Toyota Corolla Cross. They both come nicely equipped and even though the Cross is a tad under powered, I really noticed the extra head room and the larger cargo capacity area of the Cross.
Base Corolla cross $4000 dearer than CX30 !
So for needs car in Europe and UK when u have metro tramway train for what needed cars
The Karoq looks terrible compared to this!
Yeah. Looks like a frog...
superb car... with all the cameras and speed limits not sure how you can enjoy a bigger engine.
@Paul Attard yes, and actually safer when you need to overtake or go into the motorway
Lovely car. Can’t decide between this and the 3!
Definitly this
No one is going to buy a new car for a long time
The review showed more of face of the car reviewer than the car itself
Having looked at the China model CX-4 am left wondering why Mazda didn’t just bring it to the UK (and rest of Europe), and instead plumped for this virtual CX-3 replacement instead. Also opting for a non-touchscreen is a mistake when the market is clearly moving to smartphone mirroring such as Apple CarPlay.
My idea, neys car!!
I disagree on your take about the touchscreen. They are terrible to use while driving because they demand your full atention as opposed to this new “knob” that mazda is using that gives you the chance to operate the screen at just a glance.
I'd take the XC40
X1 for me
what the heck is a Karoq?
A Skoda
Skoda car
Is this review for the Skoda karoq 😂
Real reason there isn't a mazda 4 is because there is a belief that 4 is unlucky in Japan
Five minutes in I've heard enough. Mazda always make the back- seat room fit for kids only.
well that's not very good for a small suv to only carry kids in the back. It's pretty good just not very good
Try Mazda cx5, that’s massive in the back
Is the man employed by the VW Empire?
I’m surprised by the number of times he kept mentioning Karoq or Ateca etc. could’ve mentioned the T-Roc too
Mazda 3 rear room is more forgivable. This shd have more imo
For me neither are particularly ideal, a VW t Roc is a better choice for rear space, it’s in the same class as the CX30, a small SUV based on a C segment car
VAG Paymaster general
For what u need car now in covid time
I've just brought one of these in sports lux and the Mazda garage has charged me £350 for the puddle lights, I feel ripped off hearing you say they are £49
Think this is in the same class as skoda kamiq so you do not know wtf you are talking about. You compared this car with karoq 50 times in thia video. The equivalent for karoq is the cx-5.
Yeah I’d rather compare this to a T Roc or Toyota chr
Back seat is so claustrophobic 😅 I'm 5'11, I'll have to bend or lay down to travel in CX30 LOL
Why would you be sitting in the back seat?
Just went to look at one for my wife, I could fit in the back without a problem 6ft 1
Nice
Mazda should get rid of the cx-3 since is not selling well since it lack cargo areas vs it's competitors. Shoukd just call this cx4..
