Great review. Best thing is it is properly long, not just another 8 mins "full review", he really does cover everything in detail with no schoolboy humour either. OSV and Autogefuhl are the best car review channels.

Such a comprehensive review. Some sites rely on endless attempts at humour that tell you nothing about the cars, but thankfully OSV bucks that trend. I am genuinely unsure about my next car , but reviews like this provide a perfect point of reference to inform my decision. In these times of endless lockdown, quality sites like this are invaluable. Keep it up guys!
I totally agree with this comment. I always hunt out their reviews when looking at cars, both main presenters are so professional and highly watchable.
Mazda C-30- The Movie. Actually a well done very thorough review! This is the machine to have in this segment....unbelievable value. Also best looking. I prefer large vehicles....so a CX-9 for me. This guy really knows his stuff by the way!
Bought mine second hand yesterday. Feels so much better after Lexus 200ct. Only thing I miss is a real hybrid, which helped while crawling slowly in queues
Thanks for giving me valuable insights that no website or salesperson could do justice to - I’m in the market for a vehicle in this segment & have been looking for around 3 months now, to no avail. Having entered dealerships-Merc, Toyota, Vw, Honda, Haval, etc, you’ve kind of more than helped me make up my mind now. Thanks from Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦
Excellent review, Mazda have been making some of the best cars out there for a while now. There is real substance with very clever engineering and just about every car they make offers superb handling. Their resistance to go down the small capacity highly blown engine path divides opinion as most driver now like the torque characteristics of turbocharged engines but after some adjustment Mazda make some extremely clever engines. And at the moment Mazda are making much nicer cabins than VW and they feel very premium. I see this as a more practical family version of the Mazda 3 than as an SUV or even crossover, it's a great car.
What a detailed, engrossing review. Superbly done! I wish we got the manual in the US (I have premium one: 2.5L AWD in the the color shown in this vid). I moved to this from the 3 hatch due to the sightlines and surprisingly lower lease price. It's a truly great vehicle.
Interesting to learn about the CX-30’s UK engine options. I’m a Brit but recently purchased one of these in the States where there’s no manual options and the base engine is a 2.5L which feels pretty punchy when you put your foot down. Trim levels are different too: S, Preferred, Premium, Carbon Edition, and Turbo Premium. You get a lot of bang for your buck as the Yanks expect a lot more kit as standard.
I am considering the mazda cx 30 with non-turbo gas 2.5L front wheel drive...2021 model ....18,000 mi 21,000 dollars U.S. .......everything above 2021 is AWD for the cx 30 and cx 5 .....diesel version not available in USA

I bought a brand new 2021 CX30-GT , last week -✨💖✨- 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Perfect for Zoom-zooming from Vancouver-Whistler on the Sea-to-Sky Highway, & beyond‼️🛣💨🇨🇦👍🏼
@@rivervalegroup The level of a equipment you get is amazing. I got the Sport-Lux and it comes with HUD, climate control, key operated tailgate (open and close!), sunroof and a lovely leather wrapped dashboard. I liked that it didn’t have several iPads on the dashboard. It’s just a lovely thing. And for the price - the OTR was £29k and I walked away with it for £24k - couldn’t go wrong.
Great honest review. I have just ordered the top level gt sport x takumi fir my wife. As a 25 yr long alfa customer this is easily as good as the new tonale but for the same spec is over 10 grand cheaper. For me, even the 185 hp x variant is not enough but fir the wife it's perfect. After watching this review, I'm happy I've made the right decision. It's much prettier than any of all the alternatives and drives better too. Great stuff !
OSV Fun fact: do you know why the CX-30 height is what it is? First, if you’re not already familiar, Google “machine parking in Japan.” Our apartment building uses that system. We have a “medium-size” parking spot. We looked at a variety of compact SUVs, all of which are too tall to fit into the spot. The CX-30 does fit, with 10cm clearance. We sat inside one at a Mazda dealer in Tokyo last week. The sales agent said the car had been specifically designed to fit into medium-size machine-parking spots, and had enjoyed strong sales numbers from urban dwellers for that reason! By the way, before a dealer will sell or lease you a car in Tokyo, he must receive a police-certified affirmation of the size of the parking space you have.
Hi Carlos, if you live in the UK, our team are on-hand to explore your vehicle options and help you find your perfect small SUV. Reach out to us here 👍: www.osv.ltd.uk/hello-youtube/
Do you have the Kia Seltos in UK, because that being left out of the comparison is odd... I'm right now considering between Kia Seltos and CX30 as practically my last contenders - they are definitely in the same competition zone
In the U.S. the mazda is surprisingly cheaper and the mazda has more power.......but at the expense of a couple mpg......in my opinion the mazda has sharper looks.......the Kia is a little boxy......like a Subaru forester.......
@@christophermay4998 I found exact same thing. Kia a bit boxy, Mazda looks more sleek. So I picked Mazda CX30.we call Astina in Australia, top of the range. with 2.5 L. Waiting to come in April 2024.
It's undoubtedly smart but I preferred the CX-3. More compact and better looking in my opinion. Since the CX-3 is no longer available I would therefore go for the lovely 3.
The 3 is undoubtedly a very good looking car. The CX-30 is also a very smart vehicle, definitely worth looking at. It's not the CX-3, but it does have some really good qualities. If you're looking for a vehicle and would like to talk to someone (and you're based in the UK) then get in touch with us on 01903 538835, we can help.
Actually MAZDA's MOST SIGNIFICANT SUV is its CX 5 - at least in the USA, here it outsells ALL of MAZDA's other models COMBINED. I have a 2019 XC 5 Grand Touring Reserve 2.5 L. turbo with AWD. It is a true luxury SUV and bested an INFINITY QX 50 in Motor Trend magazine's comparison tests.
The only thing wrong with the CX-30 is it's claustrophbic interior. If they'd made the windows a couple of inches higher and the windscreen rake a few degrees less flat they'd never keep up with demand. As it is, it's frankly horrible to sit in
They are so close in looks......but a little less space and price.......CX-5 has a little more visibility.......a little different window design........both are very nice about 2000 U.S. dollars difference.......
Yes, I'll rush out and buy one !!..Oh wait, Im quarantined with COVID19 , took a 40 % pay cut and have to social distance.. But hey if you drop one at my house, give me 0 interest and 0 car payments for one year Ill take it. P.S. I think it's a safe bet car sales will plummet , don't shoot the messenger .

It is rather nice to see a manufacturer making it obvious that hybrid and manual gear box work together.

Do people who choose Ford Puma instead of CX-30 have no eyes or the most basic aesthetic sense?
Apparently so!

I wish Canada has this 6 speed in our car...I'd much rather have it than the autobox.
Watching this as an American I got “cabin”, “segment” and “sector” all in one sentence. I is happy.
What terms do you use to refer to the above. I’m genuinely intrigued
That’s to make it look a bit off-roady, Volvo did same with their V60 Cross Country...
what is the name of car color?
Polymetal grey color 😊 we just bought one of those today in that exact color

When is Mazda being launched in India
When you mob are willing to put your hands in your deep pockets to buy them!
Utterly hate that we only get the 2.0 engine in South Africa. It’s ridiculous, and a shame.

So 4 sounds like death in Japanese so they release it for the Chinese market? Hum.
actually 4 is an unlucky number in china. 8 is the lucky one. so i am not sure what his point is lol.

car sales have survived so well that theres a 6-12 month wait list for a new one
I disagree. The CX-3 is just the right size in my opinion. This is a bit too big.
It's "subjective" - depends on your preferences and needs.
It is absolutely pointless voicing the "right size" as an opinion
this one looks lowered
It’ll need servicing which is what the dealerships love.

so annoying listeninging to brits mispronounce a laungurge they invented

It’s certainly NOT the Brits with mispronunciation….that’ll be the Yanks and the Wannabe Yanks (Aussies) that have bastardised it!
