    I had two of these thing returned both to Lowe’s. The first one wouldn’t reach temps over 350. The second one worked great for the first two cooks. After that it quit warming up over 300. I could set it to 500 and it would only heat up to 307. I called Pitt boss they told me to prime it up to desired temp. It took 20 min of standing outside holding the prime button to get it to 400. It held 400 for about 5 min then fell back to 307. They need to figure these things out before pushing out so quickly. I ended up going with the traeger timberline 1300. Worth every penny.

    Hey Tommy, how are the upgraded parts on the 1600 looking compared to the 1150? Mainly the double walled insulation and the gasket on the door, as well as the door itself.
    From the video, it looks like the top portion of the inner wall is already warping from the burnoff. This may just be the camera angle though. Does the added insulation seem like it’s thick enough the actually impact temperature? It also looks like there is a fair amount of smoke escaping through the closed door, even with the gasket. Is there not a great fit between the door gasket and body?
    I like that the door closes is a more downward motion, as this means you wouldn’t have to move stuff on the front folding table every time you open and close the door. But it looks like the door is pretty wobbly, like it slides side to side when you close it. The 1150 doesn’t seem to have this wobbly issue, but closes in a downward and backward motion, meaning the front folding table is useless when opening or closing the door.
    I’d check it all out myself, but it looks like Lowe’s doesn’t plan to carry the 1600 in stores for the near future. Just online.

    • @thegalleryBBQ
      @thegalleryBBQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      a slight wobble in the door but built solid. I've not noticed any warping but will give a better look when I get home from work. Collen, I appreciate all those questions but unfortunately, it's too early for me to tell. I've only done quicker griddle cooks and have yet to do any low and slow. Thanks, brother and stay tuned.
