31k plus vat brand new very very tempting I have a 2014 amarok 2.0l 180 bhp and have worked it extremely hard towing our works trailer and not a single problem. Had 3 navaras before this one which all started to fall apart at 80k miles and had various problems.
Thanks Karina and Jules, it’s nice to see your channel delivering vehicle reviews. A good honest review. I hope you get to try out some comparison vehicles soon.
Hi guys good all review look like u put a lot of time and effort into the video lov the truck but maybe on are smaller scale and a lot cheaper but very nice though nice to c u towing a caravan at last nice one .kev
Thank you for this review, I pick up (get it) my Amarok at the weekend, admittedly I’m funding it via my business so can reclaim the VAT but having tested the competitors I think (hope) I’ve made the right choice.
Very good, practical review. You found many pros to proof that pickup is worth considering in case of towing trailer. But in many countries everybody knows that pick up/ truck is extreamly multipurpose, capable vehicle containing advantages of passenger and comercial vehicles or even tractor.
What a fabulous review. You covered all the important bits of information, gave us a couple of trips out too and told us what you found. What is there not too like, I would like to see you doing some more of these types of review please, as well as your caravanning stuff. Excellent work 👍😍
Hi guys, you've done it again. Very professional and thorough review. I was looking at a pickup before opting for my RR. Can't believe that you would consider changing the Rexton! See you both soon.
There not £40 odd thousand , i paid £36,000 for mine 4 months ago.Highline with all the extras. They are spot on. I went from a ford ranger 3.2 to the amarok. I had reservations over how weak the Amaroks tow bar looks compared to the Fords but after 7000 miles with 3 ton on the back i can say i havent snapped it off yet. What you will find though is with it having the wider track it follows lorry groves in the road so you will feel a slight side to side movement, but that 4 motion and power makes up for it in the wet pulling out of junctions and up hills.
A lot of pickup for a lot of money! One of the best looking pickups out there though, imho, if you like that sort of thing? Great review by an excellent double act guys... 💚 👍🏻 🐍
I love your detailed approach its good and thorough....but l wish you would drop the joint intros. It slows you down on the vocal intro..speal individually please
This'll bring a tear to your eye. I have the same coloured V6 Amarok here in Australia and it didn't cost me £43,000.. More like £33k for the same spec plus sports bar and paddle shifters!. If I was to move back to the UK I wouldn't be able to afford one.
Their is no tear in my eye, I’m glad to hear you have got a bargain 👍👍- I’m always glad to hear these things but I do wonder why the mark up is higher in different places but I suppose this may have something to do with tax. I have another Tow car review coming out on our channel tomorrow if your interested. 👍👍 cheers for commenting hope you enjoy. All the best Jules.
@@HereWeTow I just know I would never be able to afford one if i went back to live in the UK. It is a fantastic Ute and I always have a smile on me face when driving it... It's like driving a Golf with raised suspension. Great channel by the way :D
Haha yes true. Range Rover was the best tow car we had. It was 6 months old when we bought it as a football player had it first. No England shirt left in the boot though 😂
Here in Stralia the distances are far, roads a bit crappy and our toys are bigger and better, your van would need more of a robust chassis preferably with 2 axles to get to the good places, almost nearly everyone tow's at least somethings so towing is a big part of work and play. We have the power and towing upgrade for the Aus version of the Amarock at 200 Kw (268 hp) on overboost and 3500 Kg Towing capacity yet still good on fuel, price is coming down too so my opinion is if it can do the job here in Stralia it can do the job anywhere and peace of mind and towing confidence is worth the premium.
Thanks for the review. Just come back from a long weekend with the caravan and my new tow car.a Ssangyong musso. As you have commented a pick up is a excellent tow car the extra room mine has a canopy is brilliant no more roof rack for the bikes every bit of kit in the back nothing on the rear seat.so pleased with the pickup.2 years old £17000 a good bit less than the V.W. For same towing weight. Give this a try bargain 👍
I love pickups and would love the VW but unless I win the lottery it's way out of our reach, we've been looking at the Ford ranger, Nissan Nivara or even another Mitsubishi L200, can I put a request in for a review of them 😁. Great review guys as always. Best wishes Jon and Karen
I keep looking at these and the Ford Ranger wildtrack, I wouldn’t however buy, I would lease, there’s some great deals out there, you can get a ranger for around £200+vat each month leasing a brand new one
Nice pick up and nice review, but what makes a good tow car? At the moment I don't own a touring caravan this is something I'm looking at for next summer and after watching many, many vlogs on caravans it's giving me some great ideas, but I'm a bit confused to which car would be the best to match up with a caravan plus I know I would certainly have to upgrade my fiesta 😀 to some thing more substantial. But does it have to be a big SUV? Or can anything with 2ltr + engine do the job?
The best vehicle is one that is capable and covers all your needs. That’s why we have to be careful of what we say in the review as needs for people change depending on family situations and loading needs. I just hope this gave you an idea of alternatives that are out there. 👍👍
Yes Ryan, this VW will tow an Elegance very easily. You would just need to check if there is anything in the Swift warranty about towing with a commercial/pick up. This was probably the best tow vehicle I have driven, it was really enjoyable to drive and the power was immense. I hope that helps, Karina
I owned an Audi Q7 but after the recall following the VW emissions scandal the towing performance was absolutely destroyed. I am assuming that the Amarok has already had any emissions adjustments already done before you tested ?
Hi guys nice to see you both very good review. I just like to say I have a Ford wild track it’s very good vehicle for towing has my caravan is 8 foot wide it makes it easy and the kids love it.👍
Excellent review. We looked at the VW Amarok, glad you raised the issue with some caravan manufacturers voiding warranties when towed by commercial vehicles. For that reason I stuck with an SUV, in my case a Lexus RX 450h.
Hi Karina and Jules. A Fair and balanced review. I have to say it is a tad pricey. I would prefer the Touareg had VAG Cars for Years and will never change Brands. My only concern is not all Caravan Sites let Commercial Vehicles on. Cheers Phil👍😀.
Thanks Scooter, no you dont you can choose a model that suits you. Unfortunately we can only review the model VW provide on their press fleet. Thanks for watching 😊
Monster that Amrok....and get hit with ever increasing Diesel emission taxes!! No thanks. The smart money says wait for the new Rivian R1T Electric pickup truck, with a towing capacity of 3 5 tonnes. Check it out!! (see the 'fully charged' review on youtube). Coming to the UK in 2020 hopefully. - Anyway, you're doing a great job, keep up the good work.
Good review, but far too expensive, I have a Wildtrak for work tows 3.5t, heated front screen, electric, heated drivers seat. one year old, 4,000 miles £17000, VW Touareg for towing our 8ft caravan, absolutely fabulous, don’t waste your money a very good used Touareg can be had for £15000 still with the 3ltr V6 but 3,500kg towing, you will often need weight in the back off a pickup to keep it stable👍
Great video but {sob} I am a little upset {hang on while I get a tissue} I mean, why run over the camera man!!!!!! Good shot, but still, I hope you at least told him where the nearest hospital was.

Go for the 2016 onwards 3 litre V6 which replaced the underpowered 2.0 litre . Night and day difference between the two.
31k plus vat brand new very very tempting I have a 2014 amarok 2.0l 180 bhp and have worked it extremely hard towing our works trailer and not a single problem. Had 3 navaras before this one which all started to fall apart at 80k miles and had various problems.
Yes I would buy it because it would be better in the long run and VW is a very good and trustworthy brand
Thanks Karina and Jules, it’s nice to see your channel delivering vehicle reviews. A good honest review. I hope you get to try out some comparison vehicles soon.
Great format of review yet again. Great work.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

Its an amazing vehicle and we loved it..you wont be disappointed
Sorry, missed the end of your video. Got to £43,000 and passed out lol. Must say, its a lovely pick-up . big thumbs up.
Thank you 👍 hope you have recovered now 😂
Very good, practical review. You found many pros to proof that pickup is worth considering in case of towing trailer. But in many countries everybody knows that pick up/ truck is extreamly multipurpose, capable vehicle containing advantages of passenger and comercial vehicles or even tractor.
Thanks for that, 👍👍 thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. 😊👍
Towing looks effortless.. 😉👌
Great review! Had an Amarok for a couple of years now we had a Ford Ranger before that - and this knocks the spots of it! 😊
It certainly can tow 👍
Excellent review guys - keep up the good work!
Thanks Darren 👍
Wow! That is about as good a review as I have ever seen. You will get jobs testing as many vehicles as you want, after that.
Superb review, i’m looking at the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian, all the whistles but considerably cheaper than the Amarok.
Thanks for watching, the spec’d up pick ups do look nice 👍 hope you enjoy your new truck if you go for it 👍

Ow! That price is eye watering. Nice looking pick up though and great review, honest and practical.
A great review, knowledgeable, in depth, honest. (I'm sensing a military back ground in brifing, from experience)
😉👌
Thanks for watching Phil…we were both in the police so not far off.. 😊 Karina
Really enjoyed that one guys, well presented, great editing and a truck to die for! I'd love one. 👍
Thanks for watching Jon..its a very nice vehicle that’s for sure 👍
Excellent review Jules & Karina, really informative, superb editing & presentation 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Keith & Michele
Thank you. 😊👍

Ahh thanks. Really appreciate that, it’s nice to hear. Have a good one. 👍👍
Excellent. I enjoyed that. I can’t ever see me buying a pickup though. 😄👍🏻 Trev
Thanks Trev, it may be a bit big for the back of your motorhome 😂👍
Haha yes true. Range Rover was the best tow car we had. It was 6 months old when we bought it as a football player had it first. No England shirt left in the boot though 😂
Phenomenal review down to earth and very fair 😊
Thank you Mohammed 😊

The v6 amarock is much better 👌
What is it with the UK and these piddly caravans? In Australia we're towing 3000kg+ on a regular basis.
😂It partly driving licence restrictions, small roads and small pitches on sites…I dont think we can compare with Australia 🇦🇺😊
I love pickups and would love the VW but unless I win the lottery it's way out of our reach, we've been looking at the Ford ranger, Nissan Nivara or even another Mitsubishi L200, can I put a request in for a review of them 😁.

Thanks Jon, we would love to look at a few more, hopefully the Ssangyong Musso will be at some point. There is plenty to choose from thats for sure 👍
Loving the vids guys and from a fellow Yorkshireman "How Much?"
How much ????

I've got a 13 plate wildtrak it's got all the bells and whistles, it tows 3.5 tonnes never let me down drive's like a dream lot cheaper 😎
Wont be cheaper once you run out of warranty
david miller it's gutless compared to the amarok v6...
Yeah but V6
Could this tow the Swift Grande Elegance 835?
Yes Ryan, this VW will tow an Elegance very easily. You would just need to check if there is anything in the Swift warranty about towing with a commercial/pick up. It's a petrol ya dick emissions don't apply asshole 🖕
Hi guys nice to see you both very good review.
I just like to say I have a Ford wild track it’s very good vehicle for towing has my caravan is 8 foot wide it makes it easy and the kids love it.👍
Thanks for watching..it does make towing an 8ft van easier the bigger your tow car. Glad you like your Wildtrack 👍
Did you test drive the Amarok?
You should have told the viewers that the ute has toque which is 550 in/m which is what caravaners need to know
Another top video as ever. I've just uploaded my latest caravan video.
Thanks David we will have a watch this morning 👍
Excellent review. We looked at the VW Amarok, glad you raised the issue with some caravan manufacturers voiding warranties when towed by commercial vehicles. For that reason I stuck with an SUV, in my case a Lexus RX 450h.
Thanks for watching Nick, the Lexus is a lovely SUV 👍
Here we Tow people often ask me what it’s like to tow with a Hybrid. The truth is It’s the only car I’ve ever towed with so I’ve no idea!
Beautiful.
You don't have to go strait for the top of the range model.

its a tax dodge its got to be able to carry 1 ton to qualify for zero tax
