New Napa Gold oil filter review

- These filters are made be Mann+ Hummel, they are also manufactured in the USA. Surprised at the difference to the ProSelect oil filters.

I just set up an oil reclamation filter for my seldom driven rigs. 6 mo to 12 mo is enough in coastal humidity. I plan to reuse the oil in my 24/7 run generators. I may get by with it alone, or half new. We will see. Old farmers used good used oil in 2 cycle with no probs. hmm we will see if the few miles run with new filters will be clean enough thru my oil reclamation system.

The ENGINE ????? And I was using them to filter my Coffee ! It gets very expensive if you have coffee evert day 😂

The red/orange adbv is a silicone, not ProSelect nitrile. Napa Gold=Wix standard. Louvered tubes are becoming more and more prevalent, as long as properly formed they work equally well as holes. And always more louver openings per tube area than holes. Flashlight to tube from outside, proof. Agree that at least for ca price you quote, a little steep. However, the media on Gold is blended cellulose synthetic type, decent efficiency rating Pretty sure ProSelect, just cellulose. Not impressed with the sloppy potting/glue job. Platinum will be full synthetic media.

@@crazybillsgarage No sure what you're going to be showing about adbvs, but burn test will tell whether nitrile or silicone. Generally speaking, black is nitrile, any color including Euro Mann gray and white, silicone. Burn test, nitrile rubber will burn black sooty smoke, and stink. Silicone, barely if at all burn, white smoke, white ash. Silicone superior especially over longer intervals, and temp changes.

Do you know how many oil filters never get to filter any oil? Because they are sacrificed for these videos.

Thanks Stan, it may appear that the quality is better. But the filtration is the where the filter happens. The filtration is better on the gold.

Yes in Canada or as where I am, Manitoba they make us pay more to buy oil filters since they deam them hazardous waste. Not a good system for us and I believe they just do it to line there pockets.
Wix makes Napa Gold and PLatniums

@@crazybillsgarage Oh for sure nothing wrong with them easily a 5k mile interval filter and the XP has great media, I might try the XP in my cars next oil change.

Not all Napa Gold filters are made in USA. Some are made in China. I was disappointed when I opened the box for the fuel filter and it said made in China. Old one is stamped Made in USA. Time to buy another brand. Napa has gone to the shit.
Yeah I was under the opinion that Napa filters were made in USA. I was surprised.
@@crazybillsgarage I found this out 2 days ago. Returned it. Went to O'Reilly's and asked for a USA made wix. Ive been using OEM Honda filters until I found out they're made by fram. I took a mid level fram, and a Honda filter, identical except the paint.

@@crazybillsgarage I've been taking such good care of this civic since new. Early oil changes, keeping everything super clean. Things like the MAF, throttle body, etc. Been doing the crc intake valve and turbo cleaner 3-4x a year right before an oil change. Just a whole bunch of stuff. Too much to type. Then I find out the friggin filter is made by fram 😢. I'm sure it's fine since I do my oil changes before 5k, and I'm not hard on the car. I'm sure the filter had to be inspected by Honda too or something it's just the principle behind it. I don't even mind fram, use them on old school cars and hot rod. Tractors, and things like that. Fram filters are $3.50 at my local Walmart, that's extremely cheap for a filter to me. I'm going to have to find a deal on some Japanese filters or something.
Napa has diluted the brand. Napa has zero manufacturing capabilities, buys and rebrands everything. Real shit operation.

At least Pro Select is the cheaper choice.👍
