I decided to try this with vintage photo distress ink on “magic tape” cause I didn’t have any clear...and it worked great!! Thanks for the inspiration, Debbie-Anne!!
@@MandaFandaa I know it's been 2 years since you asked this, however, if you didn't figure it out...I believe magic tape is one of Scotch Tapes brands.
I definitely will, just need to get the right colour alcohol ink. I've just tried with a mix of tea die distress ink and sunset orange alcohol and they are quite usable but a bit blotchy because I expect they don't mix very well - or perhaps I'm a bit impatient. But I think they look great anyway lol. 💕
Thank you so much! I'm so sorry for the long delay in responding. I have found a handful of videos from the past few years where I actually replied right away on the YT mobile app but my comments didn't appear!
Hello Debbie~wanted you to know that I gave you credit for the tape-I actually think it is genius! I love it so much. I used the Latte ink for color in my journal. So I think the issue will come out July 1. Mid-May I will get a draft of the article, so I'll make sure all the info is correct. I really believe your tape was the perfect touch for my journal. I hope a lot of people will come to your beautiful channel. Thank you again! ~Debra

You always have such marvellous ideas. Thanx for sharing this tip. I've put masking tape on a transparency and printed an "antique" rose paper pattern on it and used the strips as washi tape, but tha last few strips I left for a month or two and struggled to get them off. So now I make sure I use them a within a few days. I will definitely use your idea.
Hi Debbie Anne... I’ve found that the backing from sheets of shipping labels works great for this technique. The tape comes right off!
I will have to try it once I get my hands on them, thanks! Xo
Absolutely brilliant!! This is one vintage item you can't really buy. Thank you!
So true, whenever I find a scrap attached to old papers and photos, I squeal with delight 😄. It's nice to be able to replicate it.
@@debbieanneEVG my first batch came out well!
That's great, happy crafting!
Great tip! I never thought of appreciating that old tape look, but now, as a junk journaler, I do!

Theresa Gilliam just curious what magic tape is? Do you think the vintage photo distress ink would rub off of clear tape?

Awesome idea! Looks so real. Thank you for sharing.
Genius, love it!
That’s so cool that it doesn’t rub off of the tape. I’m guessing the distress inks would rub off?
You'd have to test them but I'm guessing they would.
Ephemera's Vintage Garden just tried it and yes it does rub off. I’ll have to grab me some alcohol inks. Thanks for sharing such a cool idea!
It's fantastic! Thank you for sharing! 😊
Brilliant! Tfs x
This is way cool! Thank you for this tutorial! I love the look! ❤️
Thank you, so glad you like it! xo
Would anything else work besides alcohol ink ? Love the look !
I haven't tried anything else but I imagine it would have to be something that dries permanent and transparent if you want the same effect.
A Sharpie marker is alcohol-based so you might try that out or any marker that is alcohol-based.
Would stazon ink work?
I haven't tried it but let me know if you do!
