You are so welcome! I was watching Beth Wallen, I think that’s her name and she used it! Then I seen Nik the Booksmith do one, so I decided to try it the the inks I have and I love it🥰
I made two batches of old tape and I was surprised how fast it dried. I thought it might be an overnight thing. I've seen tape like this in journals and wondered how they got that. I didn't realize you could make old tape, so thank you for making this video!
Thank you so much, Tonya! I have been looking all over for a simple & straight forward approach to this aged tape idea! I’ve probably watched 10 other videos & several are way too difficult or have way too many instructions! I realize this is at least 2 years old, are you still making videos? I just ordered the brown alcohol inks by Tim on Amazon & they’ll be here in a day or so! I’m just thrilled to be able to make some aged tape soon! I hope you will have a wonderful year! Erica❤
Thank you so much Erica! I am so glad you found the video helpful and simple😉 Yes I still make videos I’m just a little slower than others do to other commitments😘
Hi Tonya - I wanted to say a big "Thank You" for this amazing tutorial! I've never seen this before, and *hugs hugs hugs* It works perfectly!!! So grateful!! xo
Excellent work Tonya! I’m wondering... when you peel it up to use, do you just use it as-is, or do you add a bit of glue before putting the newly aged tape where you want it to stay? If so, what type of glue do you use?
@@tonyasamuels3411 i dont have one but i know what i did wrong. I didnt use alcohol inks. I will pick a couple up and try again. I wanted to have some anyways. thank you
You come up with some cool ideas! I love that tape!! So what are you going to do with that parchment paper? It would look great in part of your journals, too.
@@tonyasamuels3411 I was wondering if you could get the same effect if you put the ink in the sponge or the felt for alcohol ink, and dab, dab dab? I'm stingy with my ink. Lol
I absolutely love this project! I have the in my Amazon cart now😂 I'm wondering if these one inks I have for metals would work too. I believe they are vintage patina inks
That parchment paper doesn't look or sound like any parchment paper I have. Would it be possible for you to let me know where you bought it from. Thank you so much Tonya. Will be watching more of your videos. Your digital are beautiful💖💖💖💖
Your books are incredible and I am so inspired by your work! Thank you for blessing us by sharing your gifts here. I am very new to journals & alcohol inks. Can something like Tim Holtz distress spray stain or Dylusions ink spray be used for this tape method?
Thank you so much! And you are so welcome💕 I don’t know about the distress spray or the dylusions ink, I have only tried the alcohol inks. Sorry I couldn’t be more help😉
The ink sprays you mentioned are water based and unfortunately will not dry properly and will rub off easily on a non porous surface like this tape. On a non porous surface it needs to be an alcohol based ink to dry properly and remain permanent:)
Genius idea! 😍
Thank you so very much!💕
Thanks for this idea. Also, I'd use the extra ink from the sponge on tags or paper.
You are so welcome and I will definitely keep that in mind😉
Great Idea! Thanks for sharing with us! Never knew it was this easy!

Does the ink, after it dries, smear if it gets wet or from the oils on the fingers?
