I have a Kenwood DMX7706S and I can confim this works 100%. Initially I used an actual bypass from Amazon and didn't work. After bypassing that it's working perfectly thanks to this video 😊 great job guys 👍🏻👍🏻
Be careful that the screw doesn't drop into the stereo (like mine did). Took quite a bit of dismantling to find it again. My mistake was doing it form above with the stereo on my lap as it was still partially connected to the car.
I've known about the general technique of grounding the parking sensor wire but it's too clever to ground that to the radio chassis. Always thought you needed to ground it to the vehicle ground but apparently not.
@@apdfreaky literally any screw on the back that's not obviously going to cause a problem. Can put it straight back in, andriod auto works all the time. Use responsibly 😉👍🏼

I rigged a switch for my Kenwood DMX6706S because I haven't done an install in 15 years, and I wasn't sure if the new head unit would look to see if the wire is permanently grounded and disable video. Either way, it doesn't work when I'm moving, which was my other concern--maybe some internal accelerometer knows I'm tryna fool the head unit, so my DVDs and video files on USB give me a black screen or the big red Ghost Buster symbol. It worked fine while I was in my garage testing it out. As soon as I left for an 800 mile trip, it was 12.5 hours of pure disappointment.
Didn't realize I'd need this just to initialize android auto on my ddx9704s. I just wrapped it all up and I can't get started. What a disappointment that I have to tear it open again. This video saved me a few hours of tearing up my car if this works on the newest model.
So I have a DDX794, mounted in a 96 corvette with a metra harness 70-1857. I did not clip the end of my lt green wire, but fed the end into the ring terminal crimped (kinda, it didnt squash down flat, but the connection did not pull apart with 5-10 lbs of force, first time crimping), then attatched to the screw that is above the antenna input (you have a screw there too). It is not working. Is it probably not a good connection/crimp due to not cutting the tip off? I dont want to undo everything multiple times if I need to wait on getting an extra relay or something. THanks
I recently installed a KENWOOD ddx9907xr using a KEN1 and T harness, and RR2, in my 2013 civic w/o nav. I think I should be able to find the Light Green wire and the Black wire, and connect the two right there on the KEN1 to accomplish a brake bypass, but I want to make sure before doing it. What do you think?

no expert here, but newer head units are looking at the status when first turned on and then a timed amount later and compares. If it's the same, no-go. If it sees the ground, then later sees it not grounded, GO.
i tried this with my Kenwood DNS573s and it didn't work, it says unable to read disk with a DVD but plays music CD fine. I grounded it to the car where the power ground for the radio is attached, do you HAVE to ground to the radio itself? I don't see what difference it would make though.

I just bought a Kenwood ddx9903s. The lt green wire is part of the main wiring plug, not connected directly to the radio. I bought the Maestro RR and the GM5+ idatalink connections for my Silvarado. I also bought a little PCB brake bypass. I soldered everything together today, but I have not pluged anything up. The brake bypass has 3 wires, blue, black and lt green. I soldered the brake by pass black and blue to the corresponding radio and Idatalink wires. The directions on the bypass say not to hook it to the truck brake wire, so I only soldered the lt green to the kenwood wire. I left the lt green on the idatalink wire for the truck unconnected. Does that sound right? You wouldn't happen to have a splainer vid for this would you?
As indicated above, I have already done something substantially different. As I interpret the directions it appears right. Looking for feedback on what I have already done

I just had a Kenwood DMX9707S installed at Bestbuy on Saturday....I couldn't get screen mirroring to work and it said parking off....When I pulled the radio out I cut and did what they did in this video....Thing is It was crimped together with a different color of green wire that I think comes from the steering wheel controls....I just taped that one and it did not work....Anyone know what to do ???? Radio now says there is any error in the wiring....Thank you
these companies all understand everyone pretty much bypasses the whole break thing but in your opinion what makes Pioneer try harder while everybody else uses a simple ground to the chassis and it works but with Pioneer in some cases you have to go through a bunch of crap do they care about safety just that much or they just like to make things difficult

I am preparing to install a DDX9907XR and a Maestro RR. I understand looping the wire from the HU to the HU chassis, but what should I do with the wire from the Maestro? Just leave it disconnected or should that be grounded as well?
just got the DMX7704S . No PRK SW wire coming out back and is part of wiring harness.. Can I do this same trick..add a terminal and ground somewhere? or connect to ground wire in harness? Thanks
The point is, if you don't have the PARK SW and it's a part of the harness, you don't need to bypass. This fix is for people who do have the wire and it's not part of the harness as we cannot do things like run Android Auto without it grounded.
DNX574S parking brake bypass... the unit does not have a light green wire coming out of it. do i ground the light green wire coming from the wiring harness?

Marcus Todd I actually ended up having to return this model and going with a pioneer cause this kenwood model didn’t fit my car even with the kit I bought. But I will say, on my pioneer I can watch movies with the car moving but I ended up paying the guy I had install the deck an extra $15 for the bypass cord. Best of luck to you man!

russell suneagle they told me they wouldn’t do it or install the microbypass wiring kit you can get off amazon for me. I was thinking I would do it myself and then give it to them do do the regular install but who knows. Reason for Best Buy is for the free installation.
they will not install a bypassed harness, it's against the law and best buy would be liable. if u give them a bypassed harness they will undo it and install it correctly. if they do it and get caught they get fired most won't take the risk

The new alpine stereos won't work. You need a bypass module or actually hook it up to the parking brake.

1 NYC DJ it sounds like your CD reader lens is dirty or worn out, might wanna clean it using only a Qtip and water no alcohol
