How to do HDMI screen sharing on you new Kenwood Excelon with out a built in HDMI

- In this video we show you how to add an cdmi to your new Kenwood Excelon Radio. This will work on any Kenwood with an Aux jack input on the back. If you just bought a new Kenwood and found out they no longer have HDMI input, this will fix that. We hope you find this helpful, enjoy.

Checked a few of your vids !! So happy I found them. Got this deck and visions obviously didn't set it up with sht and said oh no you can't HDMI it or any of that. Yaaaaaa obviously it can and now I know what to do. You guys have one on how to set up different Amps like subs and mid range etc cuz serious I need the help

Hey you awesome car stereo guys! Love the channel and content. Question. I’m thinking about buying a newer Kenwood excelon and want to know if It would be able to use this same isimple adapter. (Bc I already bought one). The model is the DMX-906s. I like it bc it offers wireless Apple car play. Also where do most people end up putting the lightning adapter since u can’t really hang it out of the dash cleanly. And I don’t really want to put it in the glove box. Thanks guys !
jailbreak your phone if you are on 13.5 and use the tweak called carbridge lite and is wireless. since i have the dnx996xr it display in 720p wireless

Those Kenwoods only have one Aux-in. If you use an adapter like this, you'll take up the input.

In real world use (in the car ) how does the capacitance screen compare to the resistance touch screens in terms of looks (sharpness, brightness, and glare)? For instance the 9903s/9904s vs the 9703s.. As always thanks for posting these informative videos!
+Jonathan Kelly the screens a more responsive and track better. They can have move glare depending on location. They are totally worth getting
Jonathan Kelly The DDX9705s is much clearer than the ddx7000 series resistive screens.
The ddx9905 has a really nice display. Expensive ($900 or so, plus the cost of thr iDatalink Maestro, harness and dash kit), but totally worth it.

on the dnx996xr can i still use the cable? my radio is 720 so will the signal be 720p
The 9903s has hdmi and u can mirror your phone and touch the deck to operate the phone..
I'd like to try the wireless hdmi wifi adapter, that way I can wirelessly use Google maps.. I'm tired of plugging in and out the cable for android auto.. I got this 9903s new in box never used for $200 of my brother. Kinda wish I had just got the 9906s with HD screen, I need something with 2way/3way network mode for my front stage

Overkill is better than underkill. Go with the 12 awg. 14 awg would probably be fine too.

I have the kenwood DDX9703S with the HDMI plug on the back installed in my 2014 Ram. I replaced the circuit board in my center console but my Android Auto wouldn't work unless I ran it directly to the headunit. I understand the the wiring in my Ram is inadequate to run Android Auto. Now my USB hub is disconnected. My cell phone is a Galaxy S8. What do you recommend. If you can furnish a link, I will purchase it.
Doug Davis you probably are having an issue with poor quality wiring from the factory usb header.
It would not suprise me that they would use 28awg or crappier wiring, which creates too much electrical resistance and signal attinuation.
Go on Amazon and buy a USB 3.0 round panel mount header. You can mount this by replacing your factory cigerette lighter outlet or you can drill your own 1.25" hole.

Andrea M pioneers require a micro-bypass, which is essentially a small relay and diode.
They are about $15 on Amazon.
Kenwood you just ground the parking brake wire to ground.

Large quality loss going from hdmi to rca, but I guess Kenwood wanted to save 0.50 per head unit.....
The screen is only 800/480. The loss is the screen not the cable, it puts out 720. But yes, Kenwood has something against HDMI for sure.
Five Star Car Stereo its the same thing with them not having 1080p capacitive screens. $150 Android tablets have had 1080p IPS or higher resolution displays forever.
But car audio manufacturers can't use 1080p screens on a $1200 stereo
