I can’t wait to see that fabric made up into a dress Rachael! It’s gorgeous and so colourful 😀 I have the Fleur pattern, so might just have to get on with making it! Thanks for a lovely vlog xx
That Fleur dress is gorgeous! I made the I AM Gaïa for my daughter last year, but I really want to make one for myself, too. I have made quite a few I AM patterns, and I really like them. Lovely friday sews, as always!
Thanks a mill! Oh yes I remember you made that last year.. that’s probably where I saw it 😂😂😂 it’s a cute pattern! It would look cute with our new jeans????
Aww Rachael, another lovely Friday sews and well worth the wait! I have an I Am Gia top in my WIP pile I’m sure of it because I struggled with the neckline so I think that’s coming out again this weekend. I love your fleur…. It’s on my list ❤ I’m so glad you managed to get some “you time” Your little guy is turtlely adorable 🤩
Thanks lovely lady!! The Gaia is actually a lovely make and would be a handy one to have for left over fabric! I absolutely love the Fleur! I hope you do too!!! Thanks again 🐢
Hi Rachael, what lovely makes. I keep saying, how industrious you are...and I'm not wrong. 2 tops in one night...what!!! Love that Nerida hansen fabric, so I can't wait to see that made up. Have a good week. 😊
That Fleur Dress is absolutely lovely 💗 The sleeve is a very nice puffy but not too puffy sleeve 👍 Adding the waist ties is a clever idea! And that quilt!!! What a stunning masterpiece! It gets better each time you show it. Sorry to hear the variegated thread didn’t quite work out. I had never even heard of it before you mentioned it. I’m sure it is still very lovely to look at. Back in my quilting days long long ago, one of the popular books which I picked up was called: The It’s Okay If You Sit On My Quilt Book! I’m sure your boys will be rolling on that inviting and beautiful quilt! Your jumpsuit journey is starting to peak my interest… please keep sharing! You have picked such unique and delightful patterns for them! Happy sewing ☺️
Hi cyndy! Thank you so much!!!! That book looks amazing! Right up my alley’ The jumpsuits are fabulous… more on the way for sure! Hope you’re having a fabulous trip! Safe travels xx
Such a pretty dress Rachael and I'm not surprised you got comments on it. Love the little tops and 2 in a night? That's good going as a Mum with two boys 😂. How strange you should show those loom bands as my two Grandsons popped round today and they both showed me theirs they had made at the Child Minders! It must be 'the thing' this year 😂. Hope they teach me too! Great vlog as ever.xx
Hi Carole! Thanks so much! That’s too funny about the loom bands. I love mine and they seem really summery for some reason, so I love that! You’d love to make them. Very mindful craft! Hope you’re having a lovely week and that the elbow is recovering nicely! Xx
Great I'm making a cotton sateen dress at the moment glad its working well x love the quilt I did squiggle quilting on my grandsons baby quilt thank for the suggestion xx
Hi Julia! I’m delighted you’re a fan of the squiggles too! It’s such a pretty pattern. Hope your dress is going well! It’s a beautiful fabric to work with
Hi Rachael. New to your blog... all the way from New Zealand. Love your style and your pattern and fabric choices! Just thought I'd give you a shout out. Love your work. By the way... love your pansy scarf! It's too good to cut u.lol
Such beautiful makes Rachael. Love the fabric you chose for your dress and sleeveless top. My daughter and two of her friends are on vacation in Europe for the next several weeks. One of their stops will be to visit family in Ireland. I told her she will have to go to Eco-Bee and buy me some fabric, you always show such fun fabric from that store. We will see if that actually happens, but I can hope. 😀 Thanks for sharing all your pretty makes.
Thanks so much carol!! Eeek 😧 so Eco-bee is currently online only, they don’t have a bricks and mortar shop… however she literally put out a message yesterday saying that she’s going to have a shop sometime in September! So depending on when your daughter is visiting? Otherwise you could reach out to elwi the owner to ask could you place an order for click and collect? If you would Like any other recommendations for fabric shops in Ireland just drop me a message on instagram! I hope your daughter and her friends have a really wonderful trip!!!
PLEASE HELP,!!!! I tried to sew my neck line with maraflex thread, but it keeps missing stitches underneath and creating bird nests. I have a streach needle in and the thread wound onto the spool. I’m so disappointed it won’t stitch right am I doing something wrong ? Keep up the great vlogs I love listening to them, oh ! And I would love a tutorial on how you bind your neck lines. ❤
Hi, start from the beginning, is the bobbin wound correctly, if not rethread a replacement bobbin, re thread the entire machine, top and bottom, Maraflex is amazing but it is important to increase the stitch length otherwise it’s becomes to tight and creates a ridge in the sewing a sort of puckering. Test the stitch length on what ever fabric you are using, for example, if it’s a light weight jersey I go from 2.5 to a 3.5 if it is thicker increase the stitch length to a 4, but test first, until you get the right length for your fabric and garment. Good luck. !
Hi Susan! Thanks so much’! I’m working on the neckband video alright! Did you get sorted with your neckline? I can only echo the fabulous tips you got below. I’d do the same thing Good quality thread Change bobbin Change needle Retread Clean out any dust from the machine Rewind bobbin Increase stitch length Increase tension Or put it in the naughty corner and come back to it 😂😂 Let me know how you get on

I had a similar problem and just changing the needle from a stretch needle to a jersey needle sorted it, don’t ask me why 😂
Hi Susan! Thanks so much’! I’m working on the neckband video alright!
Did you get sorted with your neckline? I can only echo the fabulous tips you got below. I’d do the same thing
Good quality thread
Change bobbin
Change needle
Retread
Clean out any dust from the machine
Rewind bobbin
Increase stitch length
Increase tension
Or put it in the naughty corner and come back to it 😂😂
Let me know how you get on
