    There’s very little Resveratrol in red wine, about 0.27 mg per 5 ml. That amount does nothing for you to help anti-aging. As a clinical scientist I recommend don’t drink alcohol at all. Do take collagen supplements. That does help your skin.

      I’m not medical but I don’t drink alcohol, eat a clean diet, exercise daily, do yoga/pilates daily and wear sunscreen always no matter the season! I do take collagen and other supplements. But the major impact on my skin and my body is I don’t eat SUGAR in any form! This alone has stopped the aging process on my skin. I stopped eating sugar 5 years ago. My friends that I don’t see often say that I don’t age and actually look young as time passes! If you have arthritis you will find less pain if you stop eating sugar for a month . Sugar consumption spikes inflammation in our bodies. Even too much fruit is sugar. Choose berries as a low sugar choice and eat avocados every day too as it’s a healthy fat that good for hair, skin, and nails !

    I LOVE Dr Youn! I used to always look 15 years younger as I've worked out my whole life, eating a balanced nutrition...until 3 years ago...Breast cancer hit me hard and since then, I feel I aged 20 years!!! The swelling, the fatigued look, the dark circles under the eyes, the bones hurting, the chemo belly..I want to cry! I want my life back but it's so hard mentally to find that drive again...I used to take such good care of my skin, and my body...was always light weight and has a soft skin, wrinkles free. Now i look in the mirror and don't even recognize myself, as if someone stole my identity! :*(

    Genetics play a huge role. Just look at African women's skin. They have oily skin and few wrinkles as they age ( unless they have a job in the sun, like a farmer). I am of Italian descent and have oily skin. I have shaved my face daily since 15. I am 75 and my doctor says I look 45. I eat whole foods, take vitamins and supplements, and never smoked and drink rarely. I do get 9 hours sleep on average. I weigh 41 kg and am 5' tall. I exercise two to three hours a day, both cardio and weights and walking. I never used sunscreen until age 62. I know I should have used it all the time. I do not intermittent fast but because I exercise a lot, I eat whatever and whenever I want but I avoid processed foods. If I fasted 12 hours, I would faint. I have great muscle definition from a lifetime of exercise. I hydrate a lot, drinking plain roselle tea from dried hibiscus flowers. I drink it with powdered ginger or fresh ginger. It boils down to energy in and energy out, I am a retired scientist. When I hit menopause, I exercised MORE so I would not get fat.

    • @LuluuBueno
      @LuluuBueno 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      You'd not faint, you spend about 7,8 hours fasting and you're ok. Adding 4 hours would kill you? I don't think só, but maybe you don't need fasting, 'cause your metabolism works better this way.

    Back when I was in nursing school I read a book that mentioned the importance of excreting cellular waste. This is hardly ever mentioned by any doctor especially plastic surgeons or dermatologists, yet I believe it is the key to success when it comes to anti-aging. How is it done? First get rid of the bad, then add the good. What’s the bad? Anything that causes acidity like stress, dairy, meats, nitrates, excessive protein, strenuous exercise, etc. What’s the good? Anything that balances your chemistry like meditation, moderate exercise, lots of plants in your diet especially all foods that contain seeds (fruits).

    • @t.8936
      @t.8936 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +20

      No. Meat doesn't cause aging.

    • @LoveLife-oo9cz
      @LoveLife-oo9cz 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      By this logic, vegetarians must be the healthiest people, but they are not. Some suffer badly due to lack of protein. I don't believe meat causes aging. Dirty meat mixed with bad stuffs then yes.

    • @pamellaarias
      @pamellaarias 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@LoveLife-oo9czno one said to avoid protein. Avoid it in excess, especially the red meats because they are hard on your kidneys, which are your elimination organs along with your skin. Also note that fruits have protein too, and the reason some vegetarians get sick is because of lack of sufficient proteins and B12 vitamins which is found in red meats. So once a week red meat would be enough or even better if you eat it as a beef stew with veggies and collagen broth. I personally have found that following the American cancer society’s diet guidelines which recommends a lot of fruits and veggies has been better for me…I just need to quit stressing and drinking.

    I have paid attention and practiced a great deal, anti-aging. However, this last year at 58, I am starting to feel "older" like I'm getting old. My face is aging: lower regon laxity. I've no money for biostimulators or clinic procedures.
    When this doctor spoke of certain diets, that really resonated with me. And it's diet, and stressing short term the body, that helps with lifespan. I think I will read hus book.
    Also,
    I think practicing nervous system health is an undeniable and true game changer for daily living without alot of stress and healing from chronic illness. I hope the hostess of this channel won't mind if I suggest the work of Irene Lyon?

    A most excellent interview! So glad I came across this. I am African American and of an age where we were taught we had natural protection with melanin. I am so happy to have been educated otherwise and I never leave home- year round- without sunscreen. What I am having to wrap my mind around is how my sweet tooth will do me in if I don’t make better choices. Less sugar has helped me drop pounds without trying but I didn’t know what part it played in the health of my skin

      "cycle of life" What we have today is a cycle of sin, as sickness, old age, and death are caused by inherent sin. Soon, Jehovah God will do away with inherent sin and death, so humans can enjoy life like it was intended by our designer, an everlasting life in a paradise on earth. This is the privilege that comes with being created in the image of God.
      (And yes, that would mean our skin and everything else on our body will look forever young;)

    For anyone having trouble with the fasting part I recommend seltzer, especially if you can find the ones with about a tea's worth of caffeine, like Bubly or Aha. It's more satiating than just water and makes it very easy to skip breakfast because they have just enough flavor to make you feel like you've 'had' something, and the carbonation adds volume when it foams in your stomach. I also use kratom to curb appetite but some health practitioners may advise against, as the research is still coming in. In any case I've maintained roughly the same weight my whole adult life.

    I have to say I had an eating disorder and doing Body for Life 5 small meals a day and 6 days of cardio and weights small amounts too was the absolute best thing for me . I was in the best shape ever I ate an egg and handful of corn for a meal then 2-3 hours later had a small salad with chicken on it then had a small protein bar I made my calories eat less and felt amazing I tend towards low blood sugar if I eat heavy and I also tend towards fight or flight when I don’t eat I feel like I’m triggered my anxiety when I’m not eating I do think some fasting is okay but this method of small controlled portions based on my hand or fist ( stomach size) during college years they saved me from myself and helped me eat healthier and feel absolutely balanced and amazing I think both can be right depends on the person you can’t tell an 80 year old to not eat for 16 hours it’s not healthy for their brain they won’t eat enough nutrition or fat if they do this they barely have appetites and people with PTsd and anxiety don’t want to be in survival mode first in the mornjfn, kids also need Brain food prior to school. You have to seriously consider these things lol. Not all people apply. People aged 20-65 who need to lose some weight sure /. Underweight cancer patients also need nutrition this just isn’t good for every type of person in my opinion( I’m an acupuncturist I have a medical degree I’m not saying I’m a genius but I have a background enough to have this idea that this fasting isn’t always good) go to bed early with a cup of soup at 6pm sure… that’s where the benefits are. At evening time. Eat light .. carbs do make you pee at night. So maybe eat early and go to bed .. and of course get rid of all that sugar.. but if it’s the birthday party have a slice bc life is also about some joy

    Learned back in the early 1980’s, when you are not eating (digesting) your body automatically starts cleaning out the body through inner skin, outer skin, kidneys, lungs, bowels, through urine, etc - normal. The body wants to keep clean, but often to tired to initiate a cleaning unless fasting and resting. So when we get a flu, is it from a virus or your body eliminating cellular waste. • @larsnystrom6698
      @larsnystrom6698 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @mariacardenas3077
      Taking collagen in capsules is ineffective just because you don't take enough of it that way.
      I'm pretty sure you don't take 15 or so capsules with it.
      The reason for capsules is of course that hydrolyzed collagen tastes badly.
      So, find ways to mix collagen powder which hides the taste, and take about 10 g of it during the day.
      I'm using two methods of hiding the taste.
      A Collagen brew:
      Green tea.
      Elderberry, about 2 g.
      Glycine, about 2 g, as a sweetener, and because we need more of it.
      Other ways:
      Mix collagen into Greek yogurt.
      Mix collagen into whey protein.
      You get the idea.
      Many seems to think you shouldn't take collagen together with other proteins,
      because the amino acids compeat with the same transporters.
      I ignore that with the hypothesis that the body eventually absorbed all the protein you eat.
      By the way, you need more glyc8ne than you get from just a reasonable amount of collagen.
      So it's a good idea to supplement with that too. As a powder, of course.
      I use it as my only sweetener, about 10 g a day.

    The problem with wine is it contains alcohol which is bad for collagen. You might as well drink grape juice, that would be far better for your skin than wine.

    When doing intermittent fasting problem arises in Hypoglycemic individuals and even as a healthy human before using Intermittent fasting to induce Autophagy the best way is to have Glucometer at hand and Fast Acting Glucose.
    Especially when driving while getting into Hypoglycemic Episode when feeling dizzy, anxious, shaky tremors ASAP pull over & check your level of Blood Glucose.
    This is the first safety guideline for Intermittent or Prolonged fasting while operating machines requiring concentration or driving.
    We don't live in times of Buddha when fasting was implemented to accomplish Enlightenment & monks could drop down into Hypoglycemic epileptic seizures & after dusting off by brothers Monks usually were given coconut water .
    Nowdays driving, road rage, F1 car racing on street roads are our favorite activities.
    Road accidents are often caused by pre-diabetes & mismanagement of diabetes .
    Play safe out there with regard of others around us experimenting with our bodies for longevity & healthy skin.

    🏖🏝 Staying healthy, strong, and vibrant is each individual's personal responsibility, and the results of making such good choices, are cumulative over time. Anyone can be young, few get very old in good health. Make good healthy choices you all, it makes all the difference. Starting with eating nutrient dense foods, and not artificial foodlike substances. Next get of the couch, and get busy outside. Grow a garden, eat fresh homegrown organic fresh foods, go swimm8ng, and frequently go on long walks. The way to healthy old age, is on your feet, walk8ng and hiking. Stop any bad habits, or better even, never even start any unhealthy lifestyle habits.

    Everytime my mother (80) and I (57) try to take a Collagen powder supplement, we had to stop a few days after starting because we get such strong lower back pain.
    Before, we didn't think it was bcz of the Collagen supplement, but then it was very clear. As soon we stopped taking it, the acute lower back pain would stop.

    As a nutritionist I can say that a general advice like "skip breakfast" is not a good idea, especially for woman. Most women who view this kind of videos are probably between 35-55 years old. As woman enter perimenopause or menopause, many struggle to handle stress the way we once did and cutting out a meal like breakfast can an increase in cortisol and blood sugar dysregulation that then leads to anxiety and fatigue. I've seen it so many times and seen how much better a lot of people feel when they include a protein rich breakfast into their diet. I agree that most people should definitely give themselves a 12 hour eating window but time restrictive eating is something that should be considered carefully, from case to case...especially for women. We tend to do better with healthy nourishment rather than restrictions.
