Edd just being a mom but tuck those strings in your shirt before using the saw. Love your work ethic and you’re a real family man with chivalry a rare combo these days.
I agree, when working in building it's best to be safety conscious. Accidents happen all the time. At another chateau, chateau adventures the wife fell through the floor.

My architect and designer friends call your layout ideation "programming" uses of the space. It's convenient when three rooms with doors can be used flexibly. Sometimes a salon, a private guest room (or sickroom) on occasion. The balance is between over-programming and failure to provide subdivision.
Edd and Ana! The floor looks magnificent! I really like the fact that you laid it on a diagonal ,which always looks special ,and fools the eye , making the room look larger. Who would ever have thought that this interior would look so good. I like the look of the open ceiling. The beams are quite nice. Is it possible to leave the whole level completely open except for the bathroom, of course. I know that it would be a radically different use of the space. You are having rooms downstairs aren’t you? It would be like the loft condos being carved out of large former factories here in the USA.
That is a beautiful floor and excellent craftsmanship laying it. I am finally seeing the vision you had when you took a chance and bought that wreck of a property.
Now that the floor is down, the transformation to that space. is really amazing.. Your choice in flooring + the work are excellent. Usually, if there are children around , there will be visiting grandparents in the wings, so the 3 bedrooms plan is the way to go.

Hi Ed. You have to take care with cords hanging from your sweater. They may get stuck in some moving part. Always put them inside or get them really short.
Great video, if you put a wall up to the bottom of the beam you could fill in the triangle above beam with double glazed windows. A friend of mine partitioned, it looked great, Sydney, Aus 👍👏
Crap you saved that one. Ed, you and Louie have done an amazing job on the parquet flooring. It looks really good.. Oh, poor Louie must have been the cold shoulder from Ed 😂😂 I could see a professional couple, maybe in here bedroom, spare, or office to work from home, too😊
Now that you've got the parquet flooring installed, don't forget to put down a good protector mat or you'll have more work when it comes time to put down the finish. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
I'm so happy you saw some merit in my idea of moving the salon and bathroom. It just seemed better to have a bigger salon and bathroom where you're plumbing doesn't interfere with the beautiful steel beam. You three keep doing the great job. The parquet looks magnifique!
It’s definitely worth it to take every precaution to prevent future problems when you’re rebuilding rather than trying to address a problem after all the finish work is done. I have been around a lot of construction sites and I think your work sites are among the most orderly I’ve ever seen! 😊 I also appreciate the lack of F-bombs and the like flying about. 😉 Great work, as always! ❤
You both make a good working team. As my husband and myself are a renovating team we flexible in our plans. There are times that it works out as orginally planned and there are times when there can be major or minor shifts in plans. As the space moves the plan can move. There is also the issue of learning about new products that can be a better fit. Just keep on you both are amazing and well suited together.

Reverse layout. All bedrooms downstairs and living, kitchen, half bath - upstairs. Open concept upstairs. Its a nice space.
Open plan is harder and dearer to heat in the winter, also they would have to go through a bedroom to get to the outside space.

The floors are beautiful! I think I would put the two bedrooms on the back wall and leave the salon at the front across from the bathroom.
Once the rooms are divided you can use them as you want.
