Picked up my 2023 Badlands Bronco Sport this past weekend. Love it. Did some mud ruts and basic off road stuff, handled it like a champ. Good on the highway too if you like a little of the truck feel, which I do.
I just purchased the base model of the Bronco Sport Heritage. It is a beautiful truck in the Chili Pepper Red! Additional 495. I am in love. The 1.5 l turbo gets up. Her name- Diana Wonder Woman's first name.
My wife and I looked at Both Bronco styles! I preferred the full size and so did she after comparing them…granted the full size has some drawbacks as far as a daily highway commuter…but over all just fine for daily use…plus it’s a little more money but we’ll worth it imo! We went new instead of buying used do to the advertised purpose of these rigs! I’ve already seen 3 Broncos with salvage titles and low miles! I called on 2 of the 3 and both were damaged off road to the point that insurance had to repair them…one was flooded in a creek and the other had air bags blown with front end damage! I’d imagine many of these broncos won’t make it 5 years before they are parts trucks
Good call looking at both at the same time to get a feel for them. What build did you end up deciding to go with? Crazy about the salvage Bronco's you've seen so far but definitely makes sense, some people like to have a bit of fun haha. Think you'll end up taking yours off-road?
@@CarsWithSteve Really like it so far.. However, due to the lack of any signifiant snowfall I haven't really had a chance to see how well it would go. Although the 1st Edition was supposed to be the top of the line, it lacked some of the features that were offered in the Badlands Edition.
I remember commenting on one of your Bronco Sport Badlands videos over a year ago and now I own one! 😃 Wish I knew which mud flaps those are. Just installed some WeatherTech's on mine but they feel a little cheap
That's awesome Byrd, great call on the Badlands! The ones on the cars I review are usually installed from Ford directly, always the option to check with your dealer on ordering them in. How are you liking yours so far?
I took my 03 explorer from my parents to drive and they got the one down from this, but I’m definitely gonna save 10k over summer and buy me this absolute luxury beast of a car. I love off-roading and luxury, will be a nice upgrade!!! Thank you so much for the tour! One thing, does it have to be ebony roast color for the premium upgrade or can i do the blue accent?
You're welcome! I've heard so many good things from people who are really loving their Bronco Sport. Think you're going for the Badlands when you pick yours up? You need to get the Ebony/Roast interior when you go for the Premium Package which gives you the upgraded sound system, rear parking sensors, wireless charge pad and a few others. Blue trim is possible, just won't have as many extras!
I just ordered my own Bronco Sport yesterday but went with the Outer Banks as I'm not an off road kind of guy anyway and Out Banks gets all the same bells, whistles and everything else.
It's a different underlying tech so you won't be able to just upgrade the software to Sync4. If you can get your hands on a Sync4 screen on the Bronco Sport once it does get the upgrade you might be able to swap the screens out but most likely won't have the same functionality
@@CarsWithSteve I ordered the 23 Badlands with the premium package! No tow package, but I’m mostly a daily driver and hoping to get around rural areas in messy Texas weather and beach trips without assistance!
I'm hoping they add wireless car play for 2024, that's when my current lease will be up and I have wireless in my current car now. I can't go back because I'm just lazy like that.
Think 2024 may be too soon based on when the Bronco Sport was released. Should know for sure in the next 2ish months when the new order guide is released
For the most part I've heard nothing but good things about it. There was a recall on the 1.5L back in November that affected a small number of units but there's a safety bulletin for the repair and it looks like newer orders are running smooth
If you were to say that 10 years ago I'd agree with you but turbos have come a long way. The 1.5L did have a recall that affected about 1,800 of the 518,000 of these that were sold for the 2021 - early build 2023 models. Diagnostics are available to owners with software installed to detect if the issue is present. The 2.0L has been a reliable engine across the board though. For people concerned that something could happen with the 1.5L (and they aren't ok with relying on the factory warranty) then I'd recommend the Badlands or Heritage Limited which have the 2.0L instead
I have been waiting patiently to order a Bronco Sport Badlands. The only thing that holds me back is the god-awful leather color. Why do they ONLY offer the ugly Ebony/Roast color? Why can't there be an option of just Ebony? Or Ebony/Gray/Graphite? The fruity colors offered for the higher trims look very juvenile. How about offering something that mature adults would like to drive. Come on Ford-at these prices, you should offer more interior options!
The Bronco Sport Badlands has 3 different interior colour choices.. Ebony with blue highlights, Ebony/Orange and this Ebony/Roast. You need to get the Ebony/Roast when you get the premium package though. But if you really aren't a fan of the colour just go for some aftermarket Katzkin seat covers. Tons of colour options and they have leather! carswithsteve.com/katzkin
@@CarsWithSteve black interiors are drab, boring, and difficult to keep clean. I will never buy a vehicle with black interior seating, door panels, carpeting, or headliner. Ford needs to offer better interior colors!!!!
I liked your review, but are there any things you do not like about the vehicle. All of your comments seem to be over the top. I am looking to purchase a Sport or a Toyota 4Runner in the near future.
There aren't many things about the Bronco Sport I don't like. I'd personally go for the Badlands for the larger 2.0L engine because I enjoy the power and could use it for some trails. The 4.0L in the 4Runner would run pretty much neck and neck with the Bronco Sport 2.0L turbo performance wise but the Bronco Sport would be around 25% more fuel efficient in comparison. Having said that, the 4Runner would have way more towing capacity, coming in at 5,000 lbs. So if you're planning on towing and need the extra capacity that might be the way to go

That's great, good cal on the Badlands! Any plans to shoot content of the off-road adventures?
@@CarsWithSteve no plans yet and I agree it would be cool if the front camera could record!
Right? That's one thing I think a lot of manufacturers are missing out on!
Great review. I'm still enjoying and learning my 2022 Bronco Sport. Your videos have been very helpful. Thanks.
Thanks so much! How are you liking it so far?
My wife and I each have a Bronco Sport Badlands. Great vehicles. No problems.
That's awesome! Have you two managed to do any trail rides or other off-roading with them?

That's a great name for the Heritage model in Red! Always good to hear when people are enjoying the ride. What was the car you ended up replacing?

It took over a year for my wife to get her Badlands. She’s had it 6 months and loves it. She down sized from a Denali XL.
Wow.. long time but definitely worth the wait! Great that she's enjoying it too. Have you guys had a chance to take it off-road yet?
Just got me the Peak Blue Heritage Limited, great compliment to my '22 F-150
Peak Blue looks pretty neat! How are you looking the Bronco Sport so far?
@@CarsWithSteve if the lady would let me drive it it would be great haha
Haha so true. Had a buddy that picked up a 6 speed Mustang because his g/f couldn't drive stick
That's the best color...and the rarest color.... How do you like it now 6 months removed????
As a first edition owner, I am still getting used to all the features and your over view is helpful.
Ohh I didn't get a chance to see a first edition in person then the Bronco Sport was first released. How are you liking it so far?

I'm not complaining of the lack of snowfall here! Glad you're enjoying the ride so far - if you shoot any videos of it, send them my way

Hi Steve How Are You Can You Make The 2023 Ford Escape ST-LINE ELITE
Hey Sunjib! Yes, the 2023 Escape is on the list - just waiting for them to start shipping to dealers!

Outside of the engine difference and flooring they're pretty much the exact same. What color did you end up going with?
@@CarsWithSteve red with black roof

@Cars With Steve A couple months but I'm cool did that add too much too 9t

So, when my ordered 2023 comes, I won’t be able to upgrade to the Sync 4? Or do you think that will be available after market?

I got the top line badlands only then I hate are how the wipers suck in the snow

I'd like the power of the Badlands but more highway adaptable than offroading.
Power for highway but bash plates and added off-road capability compared to the lower trims
Avoid towing or just avoid it during the break in period?
Just during the break in period!
Anybody have any reservations on the 3 cylinder? I have driven Fords all my life but I am Leary of the 3 cylinder.

The Ford ecoboost engines don’t have quite a good reputation. Are you aware if they brought major improvements on these versions?
