Use scotch tape to remove the blue from the crown. I sanded the silly illustration off of the case back and gave it a brushed finish. I love this Pagani.
I was never sure whether a Speedmaster was my cup of tea. For way under €100,- this was a good pick to check the looks on my wrist. Now that i know i don't like it, i'll find the Pagani a new owner and be happy, i didn't spend an awful lot of money on a watch that wouldn't get enough wrist time for the price.
These Paganis are getting better and better. The non-date versions seem to be mostly sold out for now. The savings are exponential as the servicing costs on authentic Speedies is mind-boggling. Thanks for another great video, Jody.
It's the closest I have come to wanting to buy a Pagani, and, yes, I'd spec the classic variant. The Lunar Pilot, however, more than scratches the Speedy itch for me. But if it spins your prop by all means have at it and enjoy! Cheers!
Yes, I have Bulova's Lunar Pilot, which I bought during my research on the (rubbish) MoonSwatch. It looks too similar to the Pagani in this case but they seem to have made a nicely finished piece with a solid movt. I would buy this one over the Swatch version for sure.
Yes. The Bulova Lunar Pilot actually has authentic lunar legacy. It is not simply an "homage" copy of a Speedy. I love my Lunar Pilots (plural). To scratch my 12 hour analog Chronograph itch (that neither the Lunar Pilot or Pagani have) I have a Maverick Chrono from Victorinox.
Ok Jody, first off you are my favorite watch reviewer/personality on TH-cam! There i said it. You call it like it is, good and bad, and help us understand the value of what is out there, cheap to semi-expensive. I wanted an inexpensive quartz grab and go, which looked nice, had a sporty look, some water resistance, and legibility for my middle aged eyes. I also thought at one point that i might want an omega speedmaster, but for my "expensive watch" i went the Tudor route. Hence coming to Pagani Speedmaster. I just got mine yesterday from Ali Express, and will say for the money i paid i am quite impressed. Yes the loom is rubbish, and the bracelet has some sharp edges, but is serviceable imo. The hour and minute hand are highly legible at a glance like you say, don't need my readers for that. Overall i'm happy with it so far! Thanks for all the great content you put out!
These look great!! While the “original” black looks the best, I’m actually kind of partial to the gray one. For $85 bucks, it’s tough to turn down, for sure. I have their Paul Newman Daytona homage, and it’s a fine watch. These absolutely destroy those Omega Moonswatches with their plastic crystals that aren’t even replaceable!!!
I bought the gray one. The combination of colors is superb. Highly recommend it, especially at $75. Discovered later that it’s an homage of the 50th Anniversary Moonwatch. One point I noticed in hand is that the Pagani Design logo and text below the 12 is quite subtle since it is printed in gold ink. It’s noticeable enough to visually balance the dial, but blends in nicely with the overall dial. A nice effect.
I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the Newman vs Moon. I have a small wrist, so any thoughts regarding which one may wear better for that would be appreciated.
@@evanb6862 Hi, Evan. Not sure if you were asking Adam21 or me, but I can talk about the watch sizing/fit on a smaller than average wrist. For reference, I have the Moonwatch homage, and it fits perfectly on my 6.6 in wrist after removing all the removable links. If you have a wrist smaller than mine, you’ll have to remove 1 or more of the “permanent” links by pulling each link apart with pliers. It can be done, and there’s a TH-cam mod video of the Pagani Moonwatch where he does this. Unlike him, though, make sure you remove the watch head from the bracelet first. I successfully did this with 2 of my other watches. I don’t know if you can do this with every bracelet, but at least for this Pagani Speedy homage, it looks like you can. Hope this helps.
I remember when a Speedy was £2500, I thought "Oh I'll get round to getting one someday!" Next time I look ...£5000+. At that price it would be silly not to look around at other options. Plus there are so many on the used market...
Great review as always. I have one and love it (v3). To get off the blue on crowns I’ve always just used a piece of tape. Stick it to the crown and then pull it off and the blue will come right off
I love this third version by PD, the only reason why I haven't bought one already is bc i'm waiting (and hoping) for the Tintin version... I've always been crazy for the checkered red and white patern on the black dial
Ah yes the blue sticker on the crown. A top tip for you Jody, no tooth pick, just very simple. Take another sticker or duct tape, press it on it, pull it off, done! Maybe you can mention that in a future video, has always worked perfectly for me!
Looks pretty good, I've been impressed with my other Pagani watches. The Omega Speedmaster Professional is and was my first higher end luxury watch purchase (paid no where near those AUD prices even when factoring USD conversion!), though I'm almost curious to pick one up to compare side by side. This looks much better than the Swatch version, and you could actually buy one without paying over retail!
Mine finally arrived, took many days. It looks great for the money. The bracelet is a little on the "rough" side but reasonably comfortable. Now for the long term wear test to see if it is the tremendous value it seems.
It's a fairly good homage, all you can expect from a Pagani. The diver's extension is not a diver's extension, it's actually a space suit extension! 🤣 And all I know is I shan't spend several grand on a watch with a piece of plastic on it where a sapphire crystal should be!
For the record, the actual moonwatch is also a 40mm bezel, and the updated one has a 47mm lug to lug (it was 48mm on the previous generation). I think the real moonwatch definitely wears like a 40mm watch
I have what I presume is the V2 with the colour matched (black) date wheel but I have to admit PD have finally got it right with the white hands. Side by side with my son's genuine Omega Speedy you have to be impressed with the similarity not to mention the difference in price.
Cheers mate you have just saved me 10K and cost me £75.20 after tax as it wings it’s way to sunny Scotland! 😁 Always enjoy your videos and just had to pull the trigger on this one, for the price it’s a no brainier and a definite talking point for the collection!
My Fauxmega Speedy arrived a couple days ago and I love it so far. I put it on an orange rubber strap I had already, rather than fiddle with the screws, and it’s wearable and handsome so far. Thanks for the tip! Where shall I send the thousand$ I saved. (Actually, I’ll eventuall buy a “reduced” real speedy. They’re not unreasonably priced.)
Ordered one yesterday using coupons and codes during the Ali sale for $57 on the canvas strap, which I prefer over the bracelet. Looking forward to seeing if it is as good a watch as my PD-1664, which is a superb Daytona homage. Cheers!
Brilliant review, the V3 is by far the best interpretation of the Speedy. Pity they don't do the Black/White version with no date that would clinch it for me. 🤨
These cheapo $100 clones are geeat. I have a sub homage, doxa, Pagani Daytona, SD Willard, next this thing. $40k usd watches for $300. Seiko movts too. Tx for the review.
Tempted with this one, and at the price it's a lot of watch for the money. But I do enjoy my Bulova Lunar Pilot. Great review again. Always enjoy your videos. Sunny but windy in Scotland today but life is good.
the deployant link is not for diving. It is a fantasy element related to the theme of space. In the space station the air pressure is lower and your bracelet will be tighter.
As a man who started collecting watches during lock down on unemployment benefit with only Jody taking the sort of watches I could afford seriously. Now back at work my nose has been pressed to the ADs window ever since, may I suggest that the best value chrono on the market is in fact the Speedy reduced (No date) The newer "no number" dial is all over Chrono pre owned for £1500 (add import tax) With a seven inch wrist its extremely tempting, cheaper even than the Hamilton, the big eye or the new prx......the next three best value chronos. only the ST19 is better value, talking of which Sugess has a new Zenith homage which is very pretty. Thanks for the overview Jody, I must say I thought these were much more expensive.

I've had my 1701 V3 for 2 weeks and it's brilliant as I bagged it for just under £65 from TMWS. Great accuracy and a strong tribute to the omega. This is why I like Pagani D's , they help scratch the itch of the design from unattainable and unaffordable watches (e.g. £31k for a white dial Daytona makes me laugh). Great review Jody big fan. Look forward to seeing the next video. 👍 Ps cheers for the AE sale guide I'll be using one of your links to secure a solid bargain again. 👍
Another fantastic video as normal. I own this watch and love it, another great value from Pagani. Having said that, I prefer my Phylida Speedmaster homage SP-31 with that beautiful Seagull ST19 movement. Yes it cost a little more but I can look at that beautiful movement all day. Plus the dial is more accurate to the original.
Always liked this, and the new version shown has convinced me to place my 1st order on Ali Express. Just sit back and wait now...... Excellent review, as always.
I love the graphic of a Space Shuttle riding Thunderbird 3 on the caseback. Although no Shuttle ever went anywhere near the Moon. Or anywhere more distant than a few hundred miles from Earth.
I got mine today. Pretty impressed for under 100 watch. You can feel some of the finishes of the bracelet they cheaped out on. It’s not sharp but not smooth either, so ID say rough. You could just buy it for the watch or wear a leather strap.
Here's a tip to quickly and easily remove the blue plastic on the crown: simply press a piece of cellophane tape onto the surface of the crown, then pull it off. The blue plastic comes off with the tape.
I bought the grey & gold gilt version Jody. Swapped out the bracelet, not that it’s bad, for a grey leather matching strap. Looks pretty good. As I have a real Speedy, this is a great stopgap when I want that aesthetic without worrying too much wearing it.👍🏼😎
Does anyone have a recommendation for a strap? I dont like Natos, and the bracelet is not amazing. I would love something different, but I dont know what will fit aesthetically
@@jamesblonde2271 Swatch still overpriced. This Pagani is stainless steel not plastic, sapphire glass and houses a better Seiko VK 63 than the Swiss Swatch plastic homage moonwatch. I know where my money will go.
Love the classic black and white. Mate of mine has a Moonwatch, and it is beautiful but this will scratch the itch. I have a real Seamaster but for a cool looking looky-likey, this will do the job for me.
I've been wanting this for a while now, so I was SO excited to hear they finally put the white hands on! Do any of you guys know if this watch has that issue where the chronograph seconds hand misaligns? I read from some people that on the VK63 it tends to do that and wasn't sure if it was noticeable or easily repaired.
I've bought mine PD V3 and the hands were aligned, but when I use the chronometer and reset it, the minutes counter sometimes get very slightly misaligned, but not that noticeable to be honest. Overall I am super happy with it and I sugest everyone to buy a homage watch to see and feel if they like it to buy the real thing! Cheers!
Btw I've been led to believe it's not a diver's extension on the bracelet - rather an over-the-sleeve rally suite extension so you can see the dial unhindered if indeed you were timing laps as you drive. Cheers again!
Ordered! I just got my PD "Coke" GMT homage, and I'm so impressed with it I pulled the trigger on this one, too. Thanks for putting these reviews out for us sub $200 collectors!
I have the v3 of the black on white. Some of the things I've found. 1. The V3 has the two dot markers at the 12-hour marker. Which is a plus for most people. 2. To the sharp-eyed, the tachymètre bezel lacks the dot situated between the 500 & 400 mark like the one present on the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. Without it, it resembles the one found on the "non-Professional" Omega Speedmasters. And you'll find "dot under 70" and dot next to 90" on this one 😂. 3. If you're on the fence about changing the bracelet to other aftermarket straps, think twice before doing so as you'll be struggling to put the original ones back if you decide to do so later on. The holes situated under the solid end-links to access the spring bars are so small, that you'll find yourself struggling to adjust the springs of the, umm spring bars 😅 4. The black one, in contrast to the other color options - lacked that "step-dial" found on the actual Speedy. If you find yourself feeling the need to have the one with a step-dial, you have to resort to other colors or other brands or even the Moonswatch. The dial on this one is not even close to the real flat dial Speedy from decades back. 5. The bracelet is okay for the price, but I once had the misfortune of having the spring bar on the clasp failing, which almost made my watch fall to the ground upon disengaging the clasp. 6. Just use tape or the stickers that come with the watch to remove the blue tape covering the crown and pushers. I'll be adding more points as I wear this every day since the day it came 5 days ago 😁
Interesting. Got an old 1971 one and looking at your arm it looked quite good. Also saw the swatch Speedy a couple of month ago - liked it, too. Interesting for a everydays watch and fits good as a friendly nerds joke 😊
Put some aftershave (alcohol based) on your finger, and that blue film on the crown should come off in seconds with a gentle rub. Won't scratch the crown or accidentally the case either!
I’m sure they’re just using the same clasp over and over to save on production costs. Just bc there’s a divers extension doesn’t mean you have to use it just ignore it.
I feel like the real comparison is between this and the Swatch, and I think this will win
My thoughts exactly.

Now that i know i don't like it, i'll find the Pagani a new owner and be happy, i didn't spend an awful lot of money on a watch that wouldn't get enough wrist time for the price.
That crappy divers extension is helpful when removing links, it provides space from the clasp to fit in the punch through block. Always great revies.
These are really nice for the price. Yes, there are a couple of areas they could improve on, but on the whole I'm really happy with mine.
These Paganis are getting better and better. The non-date versions seem to be mostly sold out for now. The savings are exponential as the servicing costs on authentic Speedies is mind-boggling. Thanks for another great video, Jody.
Hopefully one day their lume will catch up
It's the closest I have come to wanting to buy a Pagani, and, yes, I'd spec the classic variant.
You know you love a watch when you've had it on your wrist for two straight weeks and you're watching the JOMW video about it for the 7th time.
I have an Omega and I wouldn't get mad at anyone for buying this. It's a better deal than the MoonSwatch. That's for sure.
Top tip - get the blue stickers off the pushers and crown with a bit of tape. Takes seconds and avoids scratching anything!
@@cecilyau4440 Thanks! Looking for as much input as I can get. :)
@@evanb6862 Anytime.
I remember when a Speedy was £2500, I thought "Oh I'll get round to getting one someday!" Next time I look ...£5000+. At that price it would be silly not to look around at other options. Plus there are so many on the used market...
Guy I worked with bought Submariner in 2007. Retail at a Rolex dealer then....£2,750. !!!

I got the blue and white version a little while back as a fun summer watch. Has not disappointed me yet.
Ah yes the blue sticker on the crown. A top tip for you Jody, no tooth pick, just very simple. Take another sticker or duct tape, press it on it, pull it off, done!
Maybe you can mention that in a future video, has always worked perfectly for me!
Yes this works! I use the bigger blue tape that they use on the watch and use it on the crown.
That's exactly what I do and it works perfectly!
Just ordered the V3 black/white to compliment my original Speedmaster which I only paid $96.00 back in 1967!
I’ve had one of the Daytonas since January, on your recommendation, on a jubilee bracelet . Can’t fault it . One of these next for sure.
This watch is unbelievable value for the money!
The sapphire sandwich moonwatch is still a manual wind, Jody. The Speedmaster auto chronos would be even more expensive.
This must have been a slip of the tongue. Jody knows better than that.
I bought my son one. He adores it. I have to admit it doesn’t look bad for what it is
It's a fairly good homage, all you can expect from a Pagani.
Just use a sticky tape to remove the blue tape on the crown...works every time
Cheers mate you have just saved me 10K and cost me £75.20 after tax as it wings it’s way to sunny Scotland! 😁 Always enjoy your videos and just had to pull the trigger on this one, for the price it’s a no brainier and a definite talking point for the collection!
That Green and rose gold watch is beautiful!
Just ordered mine and I can't wait for it to arrive!!!!
Just received mine today, extremely happy with the watch! Will be my daily highly recommend
you have no idea how GOOD this is on a Nato Strap! I wear it in all my videos lately! and of course in daily life!
I have 2 in my basket for the 27th. Looking to get the black also a blue and white snoopy one. Great video cheers.
Hello Jody
you can remove the blue color very easily with disc brake cleaner. Just spray it on a peace of cloth and wipe the color of.
so is it a divers extension or a space suite extension 🤔
Cheers!
I have v2 and I think this video just convinced me to order v3, the white hands really make all the difference!
Brilliant review, the V3 is by far the best interpretation of the Speedy. Pity they don't do the Black/White version with no date that would clinch it for me. 🤨
So much this........😉
💯 agree
These cheapo $100 clones are geeat. I have a sub homage, doxa, Pagani Daytona, SD Willard, next this thing. $40k usd watches for $300. Seiko movts too. Tx for the review.
looks amazing...the grey dialled one especially!
3h07 in the morning here in Canada .. heard a notif on my phone ,,, oh its Jody , so i had to watch it ,, keep up the good work my g !
Helloooo! Now, go to bed.
Jodi is the insomniac world's favorite watch reviewer!
I love the back of that watch 👍👍👍👍
Yeah, why not. They look pretty decent. Personally I'd take the black/white version.
Pagani might be the best in reverse engineering and recreating for tenth of the price. Thanks Jody 👍
A tenth of the price? No, more like around 1.6% of the price.
Hope they release a V4 with slightly bigger subdials, a nicer font and a smaller lug to lug. That would make this watch almost perfect!
Those are ok but I wish they include a bit of AR coating and a more solid bracelet.
This is such a great watch! Nothing but love for it!
@@grantmorriss2557 What a nasty git you are, I was the sole carer for an old friend who died and bed and board were part of the deal along 24 hr on call and "carers allowance" Jodys first ever review was of a seventeen pound casio that I had bought because I couldn't afford to repair my Seiko, I shouldn't have to "explain" myself but am happy to do so to expose your bad faith assumptions, you Sir may get stuffed, and the same to your horse.

Morning Jody, great content this week and loads of it, you know my homage feeling but I also love the speedy, grr pagani!
I've got the white blue snoopy version Version one.Only problem is the visibility of it. I honestly can never tell the time! Watch 5 Price 9
As a speedy owner I think this looks generally great, but there's something off about the subregisters as they lack 3D depth. Can't complain about the price though, and I wish my speedy was waterproof and had a date!
Not waterproof because of the age? Just curious.
Thanks Jodi for your review. Yeah, the divers extension may not be needed. Motor bike riders like myself will find this a blessing as I can wear it over my jacket whilst riding. I doubt that few people will dive with it, but great for us bike riders. Just bought one...Cheers Cliff
This is way better than the moonswatch!!! Thanks Jody!
I just had the V4 black ( standard ) Speedy delivered 3 weeks ago and Jordie , its a great watch for $124 aud delivered to me here in Perth ,, a great watch .
Pagani have really upped their game with the V4 models .
Thanks for another sweet review
ps. , no it still has the divers extension .
Ps cheers for the AE sale guide I'll be using one of your links to secure a solid bargain again.
Great review, thanks Jody. I especially like the outdoor, natural light shots to give a real day-to-day wearer POV. Keep up the great work👍
I love the graphic of a Space Shuttle riding Thunderbird 3 on the caseback.
Gorgeous watch. Incredible bargain.
Here's a tip to quickly and easily remove the blue plastic on the crown: simply press a piece of cellophane tape onto the surface of the crown, then pull it off. The blue plastic comes off with the tape.
Have they added more removable links to the bracelet? The v2 certainly didn't fit smaller wrist with its lack of adjustability.
I bought the grey & gold gilt version Jody. Swapped out the bracelet, not that it’s bad, for a grey leather matching strap. Looks pretty good. As I have a real Speedy, this is a great stopgap when I want that aesthetic without worrying too much wearing it.👍🏼😎
This is THE PERFECT watch to wear on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Those thieves won't know what they have until they get back home.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a strap? I dont like Natos, and the bracelet is not amazing. I would love something different, but I dont know what will fit aesthetically
Check and see what people do with their Moonwatches! Distressed brown leather?
Much more worthy of my money than a Moonswatch (and easier to get, too!)
Lots Moonswatches on Chrono for £300, and plenty for £3000 too! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have a PD1701 and PD1662 GMT. The GMT is good… the PD1701 Speedy is fantastic!!
Thanks for putting these reviews out for us sub $200 collectors!
can use splash water on it? and not get rusts?
@@Ghostdag Yeah, a**hole, you can. 🙄
Im glad my 1644 has no rocket on the caseback. Fantastic bracelet. Brilliant watch.
....I think its c0000l......very c00000l.
In the basket and ready for the sale. Thank you sir.
Great review, as per! But couldn’t one just remove the divers extension and attach the bracelet directly to the clasp?
The holes situated under the solid end-links to access the spring bars are so small, that you'll find yourself struggling to adjust the springs of the, umm spring bars 😅
I note that the v6 black is out now, debating going for this in the next sale...
Interesting. Got an old 1971 one and looking at your arm it looked quite good. Also saw the swatch Speedy a couple of month ago - liked it, too.
Interesting for a everydays watch and fits good as a friendly nerds joke 😊
I think someone should honestly pull that "walk out of an AD to buy a Pagani" and film the reaction.
Put some aftershave (alcohol based) on your finger, and that blue film on the crown should come off in seconds with a gentle rub. Won't scratch the crown or accidentally the case either!
The film that Pagani uses could hold the space station together. It will almost make you wish that Pagani had gone cheap on the protective coatings.
I’m sure they’re just using the same clasp over and over to save on production costs. Just bc there’s a divers extension doesn’t mean you have to use it just ignore it.
