If your device is currently not booting, and you've modified the bios folder in any way (e.g., patching a new boot logo, upgrading firmware, etc.), you can attempt to get the SF2000 booting again by creating empty text files inside the bios folder, one at a time (this creates new FAT entries, and should get you away from numbers of entries the stock bootloader doesn't like). For example, create an empty file in the bios folder called "temp1.txt", put the microSD card back in the SF2000, and see if it boots. If it still doesn't, add a "temp2.txt" file to the bios folder, put the card back in the SF2000 and try booting again, etc..
So just add a ton of files until it boots?
Ww should definitely make this community grow. This guy was a life saver and I pay it forward to my neighbor who had the bootbug issue.
There is a fix to the bug when it already happend
This is great. Thank you for the detailed tutorial.
Great video, thank you!
This is the most comprehensive video tutorial for SF2000 so far but I'm still waiting for the fix on device hang on some other games when saving/loading.
100%! When I save a game it's to play later not to find out it's frozen there and I have to start over. Mind you mine is fully stock (and it isn't my primary) but still... I'm at a point where - do I spend the time on the device or just favorite a bunch of "no save no worries" games. Still, I've already gotten enough fun out of it to justify the low cost and love it as a beater I can not worry about. If I knew then what I know now I'd still pick one up, I guess that is enough for me for now...
Try firmware 1.71
Great video! Could you also do another video with sf2000 multicore mod? Thanks :)
You're a great help! Will try your steps soon

Thank you so much, I saved some $ using your link, thank you 🎉
Nice overview. I worked on Tadpole and the themes don’t replace the boot logo. They often do change the music.
If you want to do most of this with tadpole, here’s a long overview I did of the features th-cam.com/video/lgkWnIScfQQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-yDHs39sJ0FxOX-T
Thank you. Actually while I was testing I selected one or two themes that changed everything, it could be my mistake because I was making multiple notes of all the features of the software. But yes, the music was changing almost all the time. But it’s a very helpful all in one tool. Especially for changing the shortcut icons.
I didn't want to change boot logos because users might not have updated their bootloader so it is much more likely they will hit the bootloader bug. Theme data only changes files in the /Resource folder
I think it’s good that you didn’t. If by any chance you can do the same with the music then it would be great too. But it’s nothing to lose sleep over. That’s why I mentioned, for themes we can just pick & choose what we want according to our preferences. Thanks for all the great work! We really appreciate it. Hopefully more systems like this will be made available & we can get more awesome custom tools like this to tweak & modify these systems.
Thanks, very helpful!
Thank you for the tutorial.
You are welcome!
Thanks dude ❤
Thank you very much for this video. I recently ordered the console.
No problem. Hope you like it!
Does this apply to gb300?
also can you use Tapole to safely delete duplicate and Non-Working ROMS from the sf2000? a video showing how to do this would be great!
thanks. What format do the games thumbnails need to be? i tried jpg, and png, but can not do it. My zip folders also dont work like you do.
Help! the arcade shortcut does not work. I tried to bootup the games, but automatically went back to the shortcut page
Best yet!
Thank you so much for this. It's utterly amazing how much can be done with this incredibly inexpensive little handheld gem. I actually got this for $12cdn/$9usd. How can they make money?
It’s actually not very costly to make this but still I get what you’re saying. The profit margin couldn’t be too much on this one. Or we both could be wrong.
I noticed on the latest versions we get new features from the early released model. My question is this. Is the boot loader bug still an issue? will Tadpole allow me to change the theme, boot logo, music, and favorites art on a newer version? Just trying to figure out what I need and can do with your tutorial in this video. Thanks
It’s still was an issue during the time of me making the review of the product & this tutorial. I don’t think much has changed. It’s better to go with the fix just to be on the safe side. And for changing the stuffs that you want to, just follow through, I have shown everything in details.
Thanks I will give it a shot!@@DrBrute7
i added GBA games, but they won't open when i try to open them from the GBA system section, only if i go to user roms and run them from there.
I can't play game zip coolrom added in arcade , loading ....😢, I not has file .skp . How?
Does this play SNES games without performance drops?
thanks very useful
Nobody mentioned before buy isnt it beter to use a good micro sd?
yes, the ones that are included are often unreliable
I bought Sandisk microSDHC UHS-I A1 32GB (top is red and bottom is gray). Now I able to use new firmware and add roms to it.
Is more expensive the SD than the Sf2000😂. No way
to use a new sd card, do we first copy the files from the old into the new one and we start from there?
So I have a question and you seem to me the man that might know so I was wondering can you change the sd card and have like a Samsung one and put the files on that. I tried to do this I reimaged the sd with everything but when I put the new sd card in the device it didn't work do you know how to do this. As I know the sd cards they normally use for these kind of devices always mess up with the save files for example don't save the game. Any ideas and thank you for this video so much help!
I haven’t tried it myself but from what I have come across, you need to make a clone of the sd card using a cloning software, then flash it on a new card. Let me see if I can get a spare sd then I can experiment it myself & make a video on it. As I have gotten the same question a couple of times regarding this.
@DrBrute7 ahh that would be awesome thank you!
I have had a few of these generic sd cards fail in other handhelds that I own. Would love to see a guide how to clone the original card to a better quality card. Thanks for all your work BTW.
Hi! I have te black screen/red dot issue... the microsd was dead so i bought a new one, I already flashed a new image file on it but still doesn't work... Battery is fine... What should i do??? Help!
Did you do the first thing to fix the boot bug? Apparently new brand name SD cards makes this thing buggy I got mine in nov and it works fine tho
thats nice and all but still on one explains where to get the game files
my bsirv file has an error.
WARNING: Version 1.7 bisrv.asd detected; this version has known issues with SNES save states and is not recommended for use
where can I get a valid one?
Says it cant recognize the USB when i connect the SF-2000 to the computer, it there any other way to do it? Do i gotta buy a card reader? Tried with my phone but it dosent show up as a Drive, just the phone name.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can I download Super Mario Rom hack in it?
How do you get the card out
can i play snes games like : terranigma , metal warriors, chrono trigger, lost Vikings 1 , 2 . ?
amazing
How do you save games on this system???
Is there a way to dim the screen its too bright...
I just ordered mine for $11
Anyone who has the 1.71 update: Does this update fix the screen freezing situations?
It some times does it's worth trying
hi, I need your help, I made a copy of the SD as soon as I bought the console. while trying other games the sd stopped working, I copied the entire previously saved content but it doesn't work. what should I do ?
Hmm, this is something I haven’t faced. Have you tried using a different memory card? Or you copied it to the same sd
Is the sd card in the right format? I imagine it needs to be fat32. But it likely came as ntfs
Hey friend!
Any way to take the roms from this device in this strange "z" format, and convert them back to say, NES (go from .zfc to .nes) format?
Thanks!!
I don’t think so. But I can’t say for sure as I never tried it.
@@DrBrute7 thank you 😊
Can u simply copy roms into the folders on the sd card without any software
Yes you can. This is only when you want to add in thumbnails & do your own customization.
@@DrBrute7 the main thing I want to do is add my mario snes rom hack, how would I add them?
My save states don't won't for the snes?
Very good video 👍 If I want to change to better sd card is 32gb supported. Can I just copy files from the original and will it work then with the new sd card. Does all of these things you showed work with firmware version 1.6.
You can use a 32 gb card. But the copying process is not that simple.
@@DrBrute7please teach us
what all do i need to do if i upgrade the sd card?
Just transfer all the sd contents to the new sdcard & you’re set.
Hello, I don't know why tadpole It doesn't work, it says something that tadpole can damage the microSD of the SF2000, is there another method to customize my SF2000?
I haven’t heard of this anywhere. As per my personal experience I haven’t faced any issues with tadpole. Besides, the system files are nothing complicated for them to get damaged, neither the sdcard. If it’s specifically not working for you that’s a different issue. Unfortunately this is the only gui based software that is available. The other one doesn’t have all the features I have demonstrated through tadpole.
what's name of the last game.
is there a way to fix the lag on the gba games?
Not for now. But if the scene release a stable cfw build for this then it can improve performance. It’s still in the works.
Try firmware 1.71
How to change game without turning off?
hold select and start, there should be an option to quit
Can I add Nintendo 64 on too?
The cpu on this console is not powerful enough to emulate that.
hahaha
16:21 Was that a joke sound effect or did he just shit himself?
You got me. I just shit myself. But I kept going with the video & that right there is dedication!
@@DrBrute7 yes it is my friend. Thank you for pushing through.
I almost shat myself today. No joke. My wife and I are leaving the house to go buy a new used car and we have to leave like right now. Suddenly I feel like I have to poop.
I was stuck in a transaction for well over an hour. Insurance company and such.
Let's just say, I drove home pretty fast. Passed the wife in our new car on the highway.
Oh and I chugged a litre of water before leaving the house too. It was rough.
Yes, I could have used a public washroom, but I didn't that's another story.
I can't add roms of arcade games (I'm trying with RENEGADE, my favorite one)
que so pongan puesto tengo un conejo nivel 247 y un tercio 98106
@drbrute @mikyancona Does anyone know how to turn Super Nintendo files into .ZSF files, such as the .ZSF files that come on this device? Sn900 hdmi stick? I know it is a different device than this, but very similar
I want to add boxarr to the snes games that I added myself onto the sd card
Any feedback greatly appreciated. I can’t find tutorials anywhere on the .zsf files, which combined the rom and the .jpeg
@@RumUp92 it’s already shown on the video in details.
