They both are essential in this masterpiece from the 80's. I can't imagine this song without either of them. I hope that nobody tries to remake this either.

Alexander O'Neal is one of the those artists that won't receive his flowers until he's no longer with us. And that's a TRAVESTY. He's BRILLIANT. A voice as silky as ANYONE in R&B. And still managed to have a successful career while battling his OWN demons. That makes him even more of a champion in my eyes. Thank you, King. For everything. 👑

Fully agree with all the positive and reminiscing comments for the 80s and early 90s.
Saw this guy in concert at The Royal Albert Hall, London in 91 (I was mid 30s) with The Pasadenas as backing and it was one of the best concerts ever in my life. That guy could groove - down in the pit, on the floor dancing with us, and in a suit which was absolutely wet through.
When I watch this video, it reminds of a lifestyle long since gone, great times, fun times, nightclubs, attractive sexy women, no tattoos, no mobile phones, just fun fun and more fun - Where did that life go to? -- Look at the disaster of today!
And the present day youth, what a complete and utter waste of space most of them are!!!!
