Great muscians, great analog plus digital equipment and great mix guys behind the SSL desk.
The bass used was definitely a Yamaha DX-7 synthesizer, and layered with a bass guitar in some spots. Pretty much the same sound as A-ha's "Take On Me" as well.

Kool and the gang should be up there as one of the greatest bands ever. They churned out so many great songs, many of which didn't get the airplay they deserved. They are definitely one of my favourite bands ever.
