I lost my mother to suicide 6 months ago. She loved this song and always played it when we were growing up. Now it takes on a whole new meaning for me....making it through another day without her. Wish I could have found a way to make her stay forever. I miss you, mom.
To me this song is about me being the child of parents who divorced when I was young and longing for all my family to be at the table together. Even though I know they'll never be able to "give me a reason" why it can't happen, it's just another day without you.
I bought this cassette when it was released. I loved it. When my husband died, I cried every day. I played this song over and over, dedicated to him cus I couldn't bare to live without him. He just turned 37 y.o. I was hoping to grow old with him. Things don't always end up the way we hope. 22 years later, I never looked for another love. Still cherishing what I had. ❤

Her name was Alba. She was Israeli, I'm American. We met in Thailand, ended up working together for a number of years. She practically defined that entire period of my life... She died in 2018 saving a little girl from a burning hut. This was one of the many songs she had on repeat on her playlist whenever we got the chance to relax and listen to music. I saved every one of those songs when I got her personal effects... She was enamored with America, and we had dreams of getting married and her becoming a US citizen and growing old together. But like all fun, it has to come to an end. We all have to grow up and carry the responsibilities of adulthood...hahahahah.... while the 90s were difficult times for me too... the clubs eventually close or just stop operating, the music, the songs the beats still remain as an awesome memory in my life... I cannot get over the days I danced with my son in my arms to this. He was being diagnosed as disabled. And he is, very. He is 32 now. I remember when he got too big for me to pick him up and dance like we did. He reached and i said let's dance standing up. It worked slightly for a bit. This song can have many meanings and for me it is my son.

@@oleagle4248 In the 80's I was finishing school, then I got my dream job to be a DJ to spin in one of the most popular club in town. It was jammed pack on Saturday and on the eve of a holiday. But like all fun, it has to come to an end. We all have to grow up and carry the responsibilities of adulthood...hahahahah.... while the 90s were difficult times for me too... the clubs eventually close or just stop operating, the music, the songs the beats still remain as an awesome memory in my life... That was 30 ++ years ago...

I cannot get over the days I danced with my son in my arms to this. He was being diagnosed as disabled. And he is, very. He is 32 now. I remember when he got too big for me to pick him up and dance like we did. He reached and i said let's dance standing up. It worked slightly for a bit. This song can have many meanings and for me it is my son.
