    Looks great! I put the same headers with the stock muffler on my Z900rs cafe. I installed a booster plug, and driven racing secondary block off plates, and it runs perfect! Pulls strong, good low/mid range. And no decel popping or backfire. This is the 1st time I have used a booster plug and I am thoroughly impressed!

      They aren't making booster plugs for the 2021's because they can't guarantee that it won't cause a warning light on the dash due to the new emission's the 21's have.

      @@enut23 That's kind of a bummer! I would bet there is no problem using one. Its ust a airbox sensor that unplugs and replogs through the booster plug. I don't see a reason why A check engine light would even know either way or else the other way or else the other models would have the same problem.

      @@SPROCK3TMONST3R Kawasaki supposedly put something in the cpu for emissions that recognizes the use of a booster plug with the 21's. That's according to booster plugs website. Not a huge deal. Just means you gotta stick to getting it tuned at a dealer.

    The weight saving I believe is 6.4kg which is good enough. I agree on the delvic product versus the Akro, but I would recommend a Scorpion can, it is a bit quieter and sharper than the standard can plus it is smaller and looks better in my opinion. Obviously, an ECU flash is needed to get the best out of the overall system but, yes, the Akro is the best option. I've had the z900rs nearly three years with this combo and its perfect for the bike, performance and sound (the standard can is too rowdy, as you say - go the Scorpion, it matches perfectly and is quieter and better sounding without losing the flaming or pop on decel).

    Make sure you get the ECU flashed for that pipe. I am torn on the headers because I kinda like not having this bike crazy loud...
    Instead I focused on handling... the OEM tires are shit, so those went first. Then installed a K-Tech Razor R Lite shock that was spring for my weight... dropped the forks and swapped out the fork oil for thicker Belray 7W for more damping... tail tidy, BMC air filter and then had Chris up at Moore Mafia do the ECU flash...
    I have a ton of Z900RS videos on my channel if you are interested in other mods.
    But this was an excellent video, install looks a little tedious, but not overly difficult and looks awesome when done, nice job.

    I know a lot of people have been saying doing this is STEP ONE on the bike, and then getting the Ivan TUNE is STEP TWO but... As a new rider, I just wanna know, can STEP ONE be done, without ever doing STEP TWO ?! Like, is the tune needed ?! The bike is perfect for me RN, and I think the headers will give me a sound that I want, but once I get that....I'm cool. I wanna stop there. Is the tune mandatory ?!

    • @MChappysGarage
      @MChappysGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It isn’t Necessary but the bike does run a lot better with the Tune and it smooth out the throttle a lot. The factory tune makes the throttle really jerky due to fuel cut on deceleration. With the tune it runs amazing and is super smooth over the factory tune. So to answer your question you could do just the headers and no tune and it should be fine but doing the tune is well worth it and makes the bike easier to ride as the throttle is less jerky.

      Whatever floats your boat. I'll trust a company like akrapovic to make a top tier product that does nothing but make high end exhausts. Delkevic headers arent bad but too many issues with them rusting and pitting. A 250 dollar difference between the two isn't a big deal imo for a superior product.😊

      @@MChappysGarage I had Delkevic on my Tracer with no issues with rusting or pitting, but then again I did look after them.
