One who is truly passionate about a music in games cannot make a "simple song of healing cover". And Kyle Landry is with out a shadow of a doubt, truly passionate about such wondrous things.

My mother passed away last year after over a decade of fighting severe illness... I still have nightmares about watching her struggle for her life in that hospital bed. It's taking me a long time to truly accept everything that happened, and I feel like this song helps and expresses that acceptance. Life can be a beautiful, cruel and tragic thing. None of us honestly know why we're here or what happens after death. If you have someone in your life who loves you, please don't take them for granted. Thank you, Kyle Landry, for this amazing rendition.

brought me to my knees crying, literally. one of my very closest friends passed away six months ago. he shot himself. and majoras mask was one of his very favorite games of all time, and this song may have been his favorite.
i subscribe to the theory that this games theme is about finding peace with ones death, and life after it. the battle for internal, spiritual peace. and when i hear this song, i hear that struggle. i hear that melancholy we all feel deep within us. the unrest of things lost, and things unfinished.
but when i hear you play it kyle, it makes me feel that he found peace. And it brings me to my knees knowing that I've lost, but one day i believe ill see him again.
i realize this sounds cliche, and silly. plus I'm a little emotional, so that doesn't help. but i want to say thanks kyle. for playing this song the way it was meant to be played. to heal those with wounds, and sadness. to bring peace, after tragedy. thanks kyle.

The emotional response this song triggers in the minds of many people in the comment section really is a testament as to the power of video games as an art form and means of communication. Even playing this song backwards, it still conveys a message that is (grotesquely, if played backwards) beautiful in a way. You have to stand in awe and what this song- but a pattern of a few simple, repeated notes - does to people. Truly amazing !

This song is so numbing... Just wish I had the attention span to say how this song makes me feel. It's sad, then happy, and then Kyle messes with our heads and puts kokiri theme in there... ;) It's like losing someone you love more than anything in the world and they're just happy they got the chance to be with you... You're sad but happy that you have the memory of true happiness. Content in your sadness that you once knew happiness.

A soothing melody that puts restless souls at ease, giving them the respite they have longed for. This song is more than notes played on an instrument, it is a song of grief, a song of acceptance. Slow and melodic, this song is not about the body, but the soul. It clears our eyes where doubt remains, soothes the anger in our hearts, answers our bargains, lifts us from our depression, and waits for us at acceptance.
All things must pass. Passing is the only absolute. We must not fear it, but come to accept loss within ourselves. It is only then that we can move on from our sorrow.

Majora's Mask is about trauma. How we are given the choice to accept it as it is or be defiant in the face of it. This choice plays out in many questlines of the game such as Mikau etc. The game shows, as is true irl, that it is not trauma that defines us but our willingness to seek our own necessity in defiance of it. Majora's Mask is all about reclaiming that sense of human dignity and respect in spite of a nihilistic world. Link is flawlessly victorious because he was willing to give it all away to save Termina. The same way he went for broke to save Hyrule. Suffering is temporary. But glory is forever. Greater glory to Hyrule and its Knight. My soul is no longer in a coma!

Every time I walked through the door, I was tortured by the fact that one dog was missing. And all the while, I watched my family suffer. Despite this, I still had to grind through sophomore year with several AP classes and no room for academic downturn. This song became a cornerstone in my life, reflecting my grief in just the way that it was lessened. Hearing such a soulful rendition warms my heart. Truly, what a soothing melody.

I had it recently and it was hell. Thank god I was better for my birthday and christmas though. Mine wasn't a cough, just an extremely bad sore throat, shivers and the like. My throat was so bad that I literally didn't sleep properly for 3 straight days. The first day I didn't actually get to sleep at all. It was genuinely the worst sore throat I've ever had in my life. Glad it's over now!

I'm currently going through my "per-decade-obsession" with childhood nostalgia.
Binge-watching cover songs of Legend of Zelda music, and getting unimaginable chills while hearing these songs.
Ahhh, what a great time. Except, I need to write my final project for my degree, before my first child is born (due date in 2 weeks), and I'm here procrastinating (which I thought I was done with for good)😂
But wow, I love watching these videos and getting those nostalgic feels!!!!

everyone’s talking about the song being depressing, but I don’t see it that way.
I think the song is supposed to be nostalgic. The entire game is built on time and memories, so it would make sense to be nostalgic.
It’s called the song of healing, why would it be depression?
The song is supposed to heal you from darkness. Every time you use it, it’s to soothe someone’s worries, negativity, sadness, by reminding them of their best, happiest memories, of the people they care about, the things they care about.
That’s what makes the song so beautiful, that’s what its purpose is.
It shows you how much your memories affect you. It shows you that it’s okay to be reminiscent, that you should think back and see what makes you happy, to understand how much you love something or someone, and that even when it’s gone, you shouldn’t get yourself stuck in missing that, but to feel glad for the happiest memories you’ve made.
This kind of nostalgia is for life and death. Compared to that, depression is shallow.
    This song is beautiful.

0:03 - I wake up. Open my eyes, but can't see nothing. It's all dark. I'm confused. How did I end up here? I stand up and yell for help. Nothing. I start walking, stretch my arms but find only dead air. Nothing. There is only darkness, I'm all alone. I start running and screaming for help. Please, there's gotta be someone! Please, don't let me stay here! I lose my balance and stumble, fall breathless on the ground. Only then I realize I'm crying. I'm lost.
1:27 - I sit down, numb. The only thing I feel are tears slowly crawling through my face. I don't know what to do. What am I gonna do?? I miss my family, my mom, dad. I miss my friends. I miss them so much. Gosh, where are they? I wish I could do something! What is this heat inside me? I feel it coming out of my chest, like lava. I feel anger. I want to do something, I wanna get out. I grab my hair with both hands and start shouting out loud! So loud as if I would explode from inside out! I've lost it.
2:43 - I start punching the floor, like a ruleless gorilla. It's massive and cold, but doesn't matter. Don't feel anything, can't feel pain anymore. I punch harder and harder, I wanna break the floor apart, I want to get out! I start shouting again as I see the dropping tears falling on my blood. I'm desperate. How long will it take? Can't stand this anymore, I wanna go home. My arms fail me as they rot on my own wrath. I fall behind and watch the darkness as I recover my breath and mind. I'm calming down. God, I feel so lighter now.
3:44 - For some reason the memory of my first fight at school revives in my head. Maybe because I'm so beat up now as I were back then. A couple of giggles slips away, and I start remembering the good old times of childhood. Ah, good old times! Will I ever experience them again?
4:14 - I come back to myself. The anger is gone, but the pain is more then ever. I stand up and look at myself. Why did I do this to me? Why do I have to suffer like this? I can see it now. Maybe I was the one who started it all from the beginning. Doesn't have to be that way. Maybe I should just accept it as it is, I don't need to run away. I can see the path now, it lights itself to me. Don't need to run away anymore. It fills me up with life and energy, heal my wounds as I walk blindly to my nameless destiny.
5:28 - I take a look back and see darkness: womb of my ashes, sowed on its cold ground and watered with my tears, blossoming into myself again.
