Some points that might help you : 1. Study one hand only first 2. Play with one hand and clap the rhythm with the other 3. U should study per UB ( equals to 4 bars or sometimes could be 8 bars) 4. Work on the parts that u struggle 5. Play it in a slow tempo first (stop every section) 6. Try to play it per page 7. Play it completely!!! Don't stop trying...U can do it :)
for each 30 seconds of the piece, learn the right hand first. then the left hand. then combine it. Then move on to the next 30 seconds and do the same. right hand first, then left hand :0 hope this helps!
Stargazer ._ that’s exactly what my piano teacher taught me, just practice each part eventually and then put them in together. Spend more time to practice the part that you think is hard. I’m now very proud of my piano playing skill. 😚

I'm in this and I don't like it. Jokes aside, I feel this message so much, but I recently started getting so much more confident about my piano playing. I still have a hard time in reading notes after 10 years of playing, I still make so many mistakes, I still don't play that well, but hey, that's ok?! It might get frustrating at times, but remember that you're playing this instrument because you love it, right? You're playing for yourself, for your own enjoyment and pleasure. So cry, lash out, maybe write about the downsides you're thinking of, and next time you sit in front of your keyboard, start playing whatever, press your fingers on the whites and blacks, try reading and don't bother that you make mistakes, but care about what and how you're playing and what you want to convey through your playing. Also a nine year pianist here, can’t read notes well but I can play by ear. Unfortunately I stopped playing for a year and am just now getting back into it. What you’ve got over me is that you didn’t stop . Don’t ever stop, keep going.
I relate to this a lot. ❤ I'm working through this now. I taught myself piano and now I recently started taking lessons as an adult. I'd recommend getting a sightreading book. Your goal is to not slow down, so maybe use a metronome. It doesn't matter what notes you play - DONT STOP! What my piano teacher likes to do with me is tell me that I'm playing with an orchestra and if I give off the rhythm of the orchestra, I'm fired and I can't support my family. 😂
Damn I felt that. I've been playing for 10 years but barely practiced as a child because I hated it so I was really bad then I finally managed to convince my parents to stop lessons because it stressed me out to the point where I would cry on the way to music school. Then 1-2 years later I watched a show called Your Lie In April and it made me, for the first time in my life, to genuinely want to play piano again and enjoy it. I started taking lessons again and I have improved a bit but I'm still only at an intermediate level cuz there have been periods of time when I didn't practice a lot and yea. I really want to get better and have been practicing a lot lately, I'm glad to see I'm not alone.

I've been playing piano for 6 years when I was a kid and I just tried to learn a little bit of this song. After 2 hours I can (quite well) play...8 bars (24-32). I could probably learn this song in a couple of weeks or months with a lot of work, but it just blows my mind how complex and detailed your music is. I love this piece of music, it is one of my favourite arrangements of all time, and I have never seen or heard it performed with such particular skill, and I believe that the only rendition of it that matches the theme and emotional basis of the song was one done by the original author. Well done.
Jack Yuan I disagree. While it'd be easy to just pedal through everything, if you just lathered everything in pedal there would be no contrast in sound. The challenge is the opposite: finding places you can break up the pedal and articulate passagework, which I think he does a great job of.

He doesn't compose them. He finds the sheet music and plays it from the sheet music. If you've ever downloaded any piece from his website, it usually says who composes it at the top.
Bob Jenkins I didn't mean him composing it! I mean't 'you' as talking about one's self trying to compose something like this. There's so much complexity to it that I couldn't even dream to compose something like this. But someone can and these people boggle my mind!
Bob Jenkins In case you dont know, i just want to say he doesnt play exactly whats in music sheet. He often improvises on it or just needs it for chords and makes his own arrangement. If he just played from the sheet music nobody would want to watch him. Ofc there are exceptions like classical tunes, but be honest dont delude yourself. We all watch his videos for his KyleLandry-mode on great VGMs, OSTs, etc.
It's easy to analyse something. But to create it out of nothing is entirely a different process unless you mean thinking about a harmony or hear it in your head then analysing it so you can start composing it.
I wouldn't be so sure. Yes his talent is phenomenal, but so are others, for example Player Piano, who can play a piece after hearing it. So the competition is tough, but he definitely stands out.
+Ryan692 Maybe "best not-classical pianist" (Tehishter or Animenz are Technically better. His talent is amazing, but Valentina Lisitsa could play all his transcriptions "Better" and without even have to make sorta kind of effort :v (Classical pianists know what im saying) Martha Argerich, Bruno Gelber, Daniel Barenboim etc, of course playing this piece doesn't even compare to be playing Chopin or Liszt Etudes where you hurt your fingers just by seeing the sheets :v. PD: For the Haters, im a big fan of anime and Japanese Animation, i LOVE this transcription and im currently working on it. Don't take it offensive, it's just the raw truth. If we talk about his Technique it's just normal.
+Deoxyan Hmm just watched a few animenz videos and I would definitely agree that in regards to piano technique, his skills easily match Kyle's or even surpass his. I still prefer Kyle though probably because of the more diverse repertoire he possesses as he doesn't strictly play anime music. Both fantastic pianists either way! Another pianist with great technique and skill is Martin Leung AKA Video Game Pianist. Check him out as well if you haven't already!

I've been playing piano for 6 years when I was a kid and I just tried to learn a little bit of this song. After 2 hours I can (quite well) play...8 bars (24-32). I could probably learn this song in a couple of weeks or months with a lot of work, but it just blows my mind how complex and detailed your music is. Every bit is filled with notes and these details are what makes your music so good. I salute you Kyle. I hope you get your Steinway because you deserve every single string and hammer.

I love this piece of music, it is one of my favourite arrangements of all time, and I have never seen or heard it performed with such particular skill, and I believe that the only rendition of it that matches the theme and emotional basis of the song was one done by the original author. Well done.

Jack Yuan I disagree. While it'd be easy to just pedal through everything, if you just lathered everything in pedal there would be no contrast in sound. The challenge is the opposite: finding places you can break up the pedal and articulate passagework, which I think he does a great job of.
I decided a month ago that I would learn this to impress a girl. That didn't work out (lol rip), but I'm going to continue to learn the rest of it for myself because man, this is a work of art.

This is just magical! I always wondered how the hell you could compose something like this?! It just boggles my mind how they can create so complex pieces!
He doesn't compose them. He finds the sheet music and plays it from the sheet music. If you've ever downloaded any piece from his website, it usually says who composes it at the top.
Bob Jenkins I didn't mean him composing it! I mean't 'you' as talking about one's self trying to compose something like this. There's so much complexity to it that I couldn't even dream to compose something like this. But someone can and these people boggle my mind!
Bob Jenkins In case you dont know, i just want to say he doesnt play exactly whats in music sheet. He often improvises on it or just needs it for chords and makes his own arrangement. If he just played from the sheet music nobody would want to watch him. Ofc there are exceptions like classical tunes, but be honest dont delude yourself. We all watch his videos for his KyleLandry-mode on great VGMs, OSTs, etc.
Zak Everett It really isn't that complex! I could analyze the harmony in a matter of minutes :).
It's easy to analyse something. But to create it out of nothing is entirely a different process unless you mean thinking about a harmony or hear it in your head then analysing it so you can start composing it.

I wouldn't be so sure. Yes his talent is phenomenal, but so are others, for example Player Piano, who can play a piece after hearing it. So the competition is tough, but he definitely stands out.
+Ryan692 Maybe "best not-classical pianist" (Tehishter or Animenz are Technically better. His talent is amazing, but Valentina Lisitsa could play all his transcriptions "Better" and without even have to make sorta kind of effort :v (Classical pianists know what im saying) Martha Argerich, Bruno Gelber, Daniel Barenboim etc, of course playing this piece doesn't even compare to be playing Chopin or Liszt Etudes where you hurt your fingers just by seeing the sheets :v. PD: For the Haters, im a big fan of anime and Japanese Animation, i LOVE this transcription and im currently working on it. Don't take it offensive, it's just the raw truth. If we talk about his Technique it's just normal.

+Deoxyan Hmm just watched a few animenz videos and I would definitely agree that in regards to piano technique, his skills easily match Kyle's or even surpass his. I still prefer Kyle though probably because of the more diverse repertoire he possesses as he doesn't strictly play anime music. Both fantastic pianists either way! Another pianist with great technique and skill is Martin Leung AKA Video Game Pianist. Check him out as well if you haven't already!
