DISCLAIMERS ON FORMATS COVERED:
Notice I said POPULAR formats, meaning a format where there is a significant amount of people who compete in it for tournaments and so on and so forth.
For the record, I do not care what rules or formats people play their battles by nor am I saying these formats are the only formats that should be played. The way you play Pokemon is between you and your opponent. I just like examining popular tournament formats.

the cheating f***'s level 47 dragonite. that bastard
Haha

@@shadowtitanx3962 Oh it's coming soon enough. It'll probably get Pollen Puff once they finally release it, and then it'll be even better in doubles. That, and I can finally use one alongside Frosmoth just for kicks.
And you probably meant "Rocks", as in "Stealth Rock Rocks", since Boots don't negate the Rock- weakness; just damage from entry hazards.
@@reddragonair3147 also Pokemon with Inner Focus can't be Intimidated now, so Incineroar and Landorus will be in a big, I mean BIG trouble
Lance saw the future, he has 3 dragonites because each could have a different set up for every battle
All three of them pack hyper beam. That should be enough to derail your statement between the three of them they have Blizzard, Thunder, and Fire Blast, and they all have a dragon type move and a status move in either thunder wave or safeguard. Just imagine Lance with 6 Dragonites using those sets in the Gen 5 review, 8 different types of playstyles and a rainbow of moves.
Dragonite in VGC Is totally viable, it has the ability "follow me" where both opposing pokemon instantly target it with ice moves.

It hasn't gotten a Gmax form cuz it isn't even in Galar. Yet. Plus, we have too many Gmax forms of Genwunners. As for why it never had a Mega, well, then its stone would be called "Dragonite". Or "Dragonitenite". Or "Dragoniteite". 😂😂😂

Funny how these days its everywhere in ou and vgc, so happy for my boy
When you started to point how powerful CB Dragonite, I remember something about a veteran 5 gen player trainer teach me some time ago: Consider using choice band Dragonite with sleep Talk. Why? Because of Amoongus and Breloom. Sleep is a broken status in Gen 5, so counter it is crucial to succeed in the meta. Choice Band Dragonite doesn't need so much coverage, specially in dragmag teams, so you can run Sleep Talk much like Palkia do in Ubers. Just a quick note about how game defining and versatile Dragonite was in gen 5, and why GameFreak introduced Fairies.
To add to this, sleeping inducing moves got banned in recent BW, so you don't need to run sleep talk anymore. Definitely a good option in gen 4 tho.
@@oipon1 Seriously? Well, the tip was from 6 months ago, so I'm not that surprised. It's a shame tough, because sleep is part of BW in the same way weather and Dragons are. A sleep absorber, restalk sets and fire types in general are reliable sleep counters due to the sleep clause. Example: Conkeldurr can gain a guts boost, so it can pretty much hard counter breloom, and Amoongus is so passive to check it.
But well, if they wanna ruin BW competitive scene filling the meta with Sand stall and Rain stall (Hard countered by Breloom's Spore), I don't care, I'm more fan of gen 4 OU.
Too bad as incredible as it is, Dragonite has too many weakness. It can't afford to be switch in unless it is an earthquake.
@@N12015 The main complain was that, from a competitive standpoint, sleep talk induced a lot randomness into the game between the 1/3 chances of pulling off the right move and potentially waking up and failing.
The discussion around it can be worth a look:
www.smogon.com/forums/threads/lets-rework-bw-sleep-clause-sleep-moves-now-banned-sleep-clause-lifted-post-40.3657777/
@@oipon1 Whatever, smogon is so "Random-fobic" at times, yet they allow Jirachi and Togekiss having that 70% Paraflinch, sleep in gen 1 and 2 (Which is as broken as gen 5 sleep or even worse) and Tauros or Snorlax in gen 1 or 2 despite having no counters (and the best check is explosion). Bad news for them, RNG and sleep is a huge element in pokemon, specially in gen 2.

@@yaboidragonitehere1137 fun fact Kingra was made to rival dragonite

Let's not talk about dragonite having access to iron head too.
This was definitely worth the effort you put into it, the video was amazing and I was super excited to see such a long one in my notifications. I’m definitely hoping you redo more in the future, as I think a lot of future Pokémon you can do either won’t be as interesting, or are too recent to work with. Thanks so much!
I'll never forget this channel coming out at the perfect time for me, your first video came out the weekend I broke up with my first serious girlfriend. We were very close but I wasn't happy anymore and I knew it would devastate her. I felt like the worst person in the world for a long time, and I remember playing your early videos over and over again for background noise and to keep me distracted when I knew I would be alone or have time to think. Was a very hard time for me, I will always appreciate having FSG to keep me company and a nice distraction during those times. Love you guys
Crazy. I just broke up with my girlfriend yesterday and feel the exact same. Such an awful feeling
Anyone else pumped for him to cover Gen 3 Charizard he completely skipped over in his very first video?
Moose Ears Still, it’s the only time iirc a gen was ever skipped over. That’s something I’ve always found interesting at the very least.

Brad Schaefer Thank god for the new format. I remember just hearing during the old vids about any kind of Nieche in OU. Thank god they dropped that, finally.
Id really like to see another video analyzing the competitive standing of a specific type. Amazing video!
That’s my boy, I trained that thing for hours before fighting lance in heartgold
dragonite: the little dragon that always found a way.
After tera you need to make this one more time.
I can't wait to finally utilize dragonite in the dlc. I love it even more ever since ash caught one. Now if I only I can have a good name for it.
name it the true dragon
Wow!! Really well done! Congrats on this video!
I know it’ll take a while but I can’t wait for Latias!!
And yes, Dragonite is one of my favorite Pokémon to use as a mix attacker!
This video was great and i can see so much effort was put into it. Dragonite is my favorite gen 1 pokemon along with arcanine and seeing both have success is amazing!
Me: why doesn’t Dragonite have a mega?
Also me: *runs into one* ohhhhh, that’s why.
Also because it's megastone would be names dragoniteite
A mega dragonite would be about as strong as kyogre or groudon
A Mega Dragonite sounds absolutely disgusting. Remember Mega Salamence how it was able to set up easily with intimidate and good physical bulk? Well Dragonite has multiscale lol. So that’s a nearly guaranteed dragon dance against almost everything and then it Megas and likely gains attack, speed, and a new offensive ability. Imagine a mega Dragonite with like tough claws or even give it Salamence’s ability Aerialate.

Mann that Lighthouse Dragonite used to gimme nightmares
16:15 "Dragonite could and often did run Choice Band and Dragon Dance on rain. So physical walls would switch in to that but then get blown away by Hurricane."
*Shows Dragonite using surf*
Also banded Dragon Dance sounds like a terrible idea!!
Original video: 7:48 minutes and titled "How GOOD"
Remake video: 35:43 minutes and titled "How GREAT"
Now that's heartwarming for us Dragonite lovers!! ❤❤❤❤
SSJ2Pikachu technically speaking setup plus choice trick can be good
hell yeah, dragonite's great
Multiscale

Gen 4: Am I a joke to you?!
Extreme speed too
SlumberTrap wrap and extreme speed too
Man this video is awesome, I hope more remakes come. This channel has come such a long way
And now, mence is in UU and dragonite is comfortably in OU
How the turn tables
Why did that happen, I am so confused about that
@@criticalz3319 nite is bulkier, sets up easier, priority, great coverage and just does better for the meta overall
Next: How good was Pimpnite actually?
@Togepiss then banned from ubers
You thought it was going to be Exadrill but it was me Dragonite.
I picture dragonite being handed multiscale and then going off like heavy in meet the medic
2:06 “some players wanted wobbli- I mean wrap banned.” lmao
