Gen 6 was probably it's peak but after that it was just a good choice to have but nothing overwhelming. Also because most of its later sets where defensive or suicide rocks.

Generally it has only been a threatening force in gen 6 and 7. It dropped of hard in the later gens though and in gen 7 and 8 it was mostly a pivot mon that brought in the powerhouse mons and not the powerhouse itself. For example: - In its deput gen of gen 5, it is clearly worse and not as meta defining as Latios, the weather setters, Ferrothorn, Keldo or Excadrill. In todays gen5 ou viability ranking it's ranked 5th in the A+ rank. - In gen 6 it fells off quite a bit after its peak and when the generation ended. A ton of mega mons are above it and it is currently ranked 34th in the A- rank. - Only in gen 7 and 8 it is still in the top 3 mons of the metagame thanks to its pivot ability.
I assume the reason why Landorus is so smug in his artwork is because he knew how strong he’d be in competitive play. Hasn’t missed a game since is debut either. Can’t wait for him in Gen 9

They cut many things short ofc. You cant cover every single matchup and statspread that both Landos had. They kept the Focus on the Important stuff. And for a Pokemon that only has seen 4 Generations 75 Minutes is alot. Its longer then Charizards Remake and that thing was arround since Gen 1 and has 4 Forms :P

My favorite part of the intros are the "And we'll be going over these competative formats" part. Apart from some edge cases, you can tell a lot from how the pokemon faired in VGC. With that in mind, Landerous being viable in every single VGC since launch is crazy and is a testament to how well designed he was from a competative standpoint
Youre not wrong about whether it is 'good' or not is usually a tell if vgc is grayed out at the beginning.. but that's more because whomever writes these isn't a vgc player, clearly. A lot of the 'bad' pokemon had sets that were/are niche and or risky and so tournament players don't normally run them. For instance there was no mention of Mantine as a bulky tailwind setter that hard walled zacian, incineroar and kyogre and no way to break it with a lightning rod teammate. Did i mention it gets wide guard too? Which blocks spread moves which were a nightmare to deal with in the restricted formats. and while it wasn't everywhere like incin, it definitely got decent play in series 12 since zacian-kyogre teams were *the* most common archetype in the format. I wish they covered the evolving vgc meta outside of major tournaments like they do for singles
@@SoeZ-M4 as a regular player of both singles and vgc i personally prefer vgc if i had to pick. It's more complex and challenging imo. Plus you can make any pokemon work; i used a stunfisk team in the sw/sh double restricted format and finished the season in the top 150 on the ladder

When your video is the longest in FSG history, elite in singles AND doubles, you know you are without doubt one of the greatest Pokémon ever introduced.
Staple removers can't even get rid of Landorus. It is beyond a staple mon at this point. It's a permanent rivet in the metagame fabric. Can't wait to see it and Great Tusk fight for supremacy. If Lando can't transfer moves it might not go so well. Defog and knock off are important support tools.
As long as Lando has intimidate it will find a niche in OU. Great Tusk is amazing but it and Lando won't share a role. Lando-T can and will always adapt. What will be really interesting to see is how long Lando-I needs to be quickbanned again :P

I've been waiting so long for this video. Easily the most iconic and impactful pokemon in competitive history. I expected a 2 hour video but I'll happily take a 1 hour 15 mins one.
So the Lando video is finally here! Thank you so much for going through the effort of making it, for it was a joy to watch. I feel similarly to you all. I used to find it annoying that he was so omnipresent no matter where I looked, but if anything that's just a testament to how flexible and versatile he is, and a testament to the creativity of the playerbase to find new roles for him to play even when it seems like a waste of time. He is the quintessential good Pokemon, what every Pokemon should strive to be.
Heatran did exist for one generation more but it has no other form, I think the heatran video will be a bit shorter than this. A long one would be a tyranitar remake honestly
Landorus is like Atlas - for years, it has held the entirety of the competitive scene on its shoulders. Being incredibly versatile, Landorus is never dominant, but always able to perform well and fill whatever niche it needs to. It can be argued that this is maybe the greatest Pokémon in competitive Pokémon history.

Gliscor and Lando-T are certainly influential pair. Counterparts to each other that balance things out, but the absence of one causes the scales to tip.

I find it quiet funny that outside of competitive, you generally hear Landorus being good because it holds back most mons from making the teirs go crazy and how it's adjustable to most team sets. But then I see Gen 5 Landorus, and he just seems like a strong mon that becomes the biggest bully to the mons that try to slow him down rather than take him out.
It shows how dominant Lando is that this is one of the longest videos on this channel despite being around for only 5 Generations of Pokemon next is the Rotom movie

If I had a nickel every time someone complained about Landorus T to me, I would be a millionaire. Gen 7 Landorus is the best one imo because of the Flynium Z tech which encourages more offensive sets with him.
Even though Landorus is Ground/Flying type, the only Flying type move it could use was Fly. But by holding a Yache Berry, it could take advantage of those by using Stone Edge.

Probably my favourite moveset for Lando-I was earth power, sludge wave, psychic and gravity. It was always funny to see people switch in skarmory or any flying type.

It’s literally THE best in 7 and 8, and an easy top 5 in BW. 6 is the only gen where it doesn’t rule the whole tier, even though it’s still excellent.

I don’t think I have the words to show the appreciation this work deserves. Landorus is one of my favorite Legendaries regardless of its competitive merits, so this would’ve always been a fun watch. Great job, everyone!
P. S. Minor nitpick: as an Italian fan, please try to address Francesco Pio Pero by his full name. His middle name is pronounced pee-oh and it sounds really bad if you read it as “pee”. I don’t like correcting pronunciations but I know some of our names can be really terrible for non-native speakers and this one specifically made me chuckle.
Giratina may have been banished to the distortion realm by Arceus for its evil deeds but little does Arceus know that it appointed Landorus to do his bidding in the overworld in his absence.
The film of the century, the excitement behind it was immense, and we finally get to see how revolutionary Landorus actually was
I've been waiting so long for this video. Easily the most iconic and impactful pokemon in competitive history. I expected a 2 hour video but I'll happily take a 1 hour 15 mins one.

I feel similarly to you all. I used to find it annoying that he was so omnipresent no matter where I looked, but if anything that's just a testament to how flexible and versatile he is, and a testament to the creativity of the playerbase to find new roles for him to play even when it seems like a waste of time. He is the quintessential good Pokemon, what every Pokemon should strive to be.

Landorus is like Atlas - for years, it has held the entirety of the competitive scene on its shoulders. Being incredibly versatile, Landorus is never dominant, but always able to perform well and fill whatever niche it needs to. It can be argued that this is maybe the greatest Pokémon in competitive Pokémon history.

Lando is super underrated I always found him to be pretty decent in ou and vgc, more people should try him out more he needs more useage.

If yall must know its my favourite for its lore. Not all of our favs is based on looks like Lopunny guys... Its the abundance pokemon. A natural disaster also like the calm after the storm bringing the ruined land back to life. Also imo it looks badass
I find it quiet funny that outside of competitive, you generally hear Landorus being good because it holds back most mons from making the teirs go crazy and how it's adjustable to most team sets. But then I see Gen 5 Landorus, and he just seems like a strong mon that becomes the biggest bully to the mons that try to slow him down rather than take him out.

Even though Landorus is Ground/Flying type, the only Flying type move it could use was Fly. But by holding a Yache Berry, it could take advantage of those by using Stone Edge.
