My F350 has a back up alarm that came with the service body. After about one week, you'll hate it.
James McLamb is there a way to just turn it off? Yeah it’ll get annoying. Lol it should only be used when towing bigger trailers, but you don’t need the back up alarm in a pickup.
Put it in neutral when you can roll back
Wire cutters,,if you feel a small bump in reverse ,,just rewire before the cops get dare.The alarm is not for the owner of the trk.,,its for YOUNG & OLD people about to get SMASHED BY A BIG TRUCK!--think about it.

I bought a 2018 RAM 3500 in Edmonton, AB, Canada, with the Cummins 6.7L high output diesel, dually with Aisin transmission, 4:10 gears, in Limited trim with crew cab and 8 foot box. I've owned it since September of 2019, so 7 months now. It was worth every penny I paid for it, but keep in mind, I only paid $70,000 Canadian, which is about $53,000 U.S. The truck was a year old, and only had 23,000 km on it, so 14,000 miles.......barely broken in!!! The interior was in mint condition, and the exterior just had a few chips in the paint........excellent condition overall. I pulled the window sticker on the truck, and it originally retailed for $99,999.00 Canadian, so essentially I bought it for $29,000.00 less than new and because I traded in my '17 Z06/07 Vette on it, I didn't have to pay taxes. You only pay taxes on the difference between your trade-in and the purchase price. When you consider 10% tax on $99,999.00 Canadian, you are looking at a total vehicle price of $110K. I basically saved $40K..... If you have to own new.......fine. If you're willing to wait a year........do that........

Well if you use the truck like you suppose to, you can make the money to payoff your home and buy another one. I got a buddy at Landstar hotshot division and independent before hand he was able to payoff his truck and home in 7 yrs. Now he upgrading to semi trucks and working on sitting at the house making money watching T.V.
If you use it for hotshot trucking, the truck will pay for it self, and probably enough left over to pay you more than you make at your day job.
@@mccortezy That's what i wanna do, i was planning on saving up $60k to buy a semi truck and have an emergency fund, but idk if i can wait that long, i hate my fkn job, i think i'm just gonna get a ram rig and do hot shot for a while until i make the money i need for my semi, and then stick a driver in my hot shot or in my semi and i run the other lol.
@@imbrandon16 well you can't go wrong either way. You your own boss. But with the ram you can drive it to the store and lot more versatility then a semi also.
I’d buy it but I would wait until the end of the year when 2021’s are about to hit the dealerships plus that way you would most likely be able to buy the truck for mid to high 70’s. Also if you buy a Ram with the backup alarm it can be turned off. Thanks for sharing Ben.
I did this with a 2018 Laramie trim. I bought it in the summer of 2019 (June). I was surprised it was still on the lot. I live out in CA so things are priced slightly higher here. I bought it out the door for $58k with only 11 miles on it.

My 21 Mega Cab 2500 Limited has the $200 back up alert option. It’s freaking awesome. Great for when backing up trailers. Was real close to getting the DRW 3500.
That is perfection, in Australia we get a dual cab landcruiser with a single turbo 4.5l V8, 5 speed manual transmission, wind up windows, vinyl interior, no cameras no sensors, no exhaust brake and well that's about it. all for around $120,000, oh it can tow a whopping 3500kg or 7,700lbs, a 2010 ram 3500 costs $125,000 here!

Agree with you, I've always liked the mega cab and all that extra internal back storage. I'd kinda prefer the 2500 though for that softer daily ride quality, I don't have anything major to tow all the time to soften the ride. Plus I want to do the prospector xl package for offroading and that's only for the 2500 and lower.
You mean to say Mega with a long bed? Because the Mega is available in a Dually but like all Mega, they're a 6'4" bed.
@@rjterry21 You can go for the Regular Cab long bed dually and I'll stick for the mega cab short bed single rear wheel.
Short bed are the way to go in this day of age while the long bed aren't popular anymore...

I have a 2018 Ram 3500 Limited Mega Cab and I love it! I pull a 42 ft fifth wheel camper and this truck doesn't even know it's back there! But....The new 2020 models are so much nicer! A lot of money! Yes! But you get what you pay for!

I have a 2008 Dodge ram 2500 mega cab 4 x 4 with the 5.7 L hemi and I must say the crew cab is good but the mega cab is a whole Nother level because you can recline the seat and overall I’m pretty sure it just has more legroom people say it doesn’t but it definitely seems to God bless y’all.

My 2019 Ram cost $76,000. It's a 5500 single cab with a custom sleeper, set up for max towing, with the SLT package and every option on the build sheet. (The new car manager was an idiot. Ambulance package with leather? WTF?) So what do you get for that extra $14,000? You trade the sleeper cab (with bunk, microwave and shore power hookup) for 2 extra doors. You get a few electronic gizmos that don't cost Fiat a dime. It's just programming. And yes, I DO have the LED light package.
Want to save a ton? Get your 1-ton Limited CHASSIS CAB and put a pickup bed on it. Far less money.
Now all it needs is a Eaton fuller 10 speed be perfect but no one can drive stick shift Any more
rumors are they might be getting an Allison 9 speed

I got a white 2020 limited dually white black interior. Love it and trust me once the engine starts breaking in the horse's come out to play.
I buy my guys the laramie package smaller touch screen same interior in delmonico red exterior I pay around $68k with discount and rebates. Then I sell the beds for CM gooseneck flatbeds
My guys are driving 50hrs a week .hot and cold whether it's worth it to me to give them comfort and some Sirius satellite tunes.
I have excellent driver retention and team morale is good.

Love my 2019 drw 3500 tradesman long bed.
Same power train, but 1/3 the price.
And, most importantly, no bells and whistles that I dont need , so less prone to break downs.
As a plus I have more payload capacity.

@@jamesglenn520 average 10-11 mpg local driving 20 miles one way to work. Have 6,000 miles on her now ( since dec 31). But am now pushing 12-13 mpg unloaded out on the open roads in north & west tx, no interstate driving yet. Is what I expected out of her with 4:10 gears.

@@troyrobertson8206 I just bought a Non HO Cummins new last Saturday and around town it's averaging 16-17. It only had 60 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. I'm in the Treasure Valley area of Idaho outside of Boise.
I'm going to Reno Nevada in a few weeks running empty so it will be interesting to see what what it does cruising down the highway 👍
@@jamesglenn520 the diesel was not a option for me for several reasons, price,fuel cost, maintenance cost and most important to me was the weight difference. My truck has a payload of 6,447 lbs. I specd my truck for the sole purpose of hauling a truck camper. Based on my driving needs gasser was the better choice. Good luck on your trip. And be safe out there.

its a nice truck for sure but you can almost buy 3 tradesman 2500's !!!.....they simply aren't worth what they charge for some extra wiring and buttons....almost 3 full-size trucks for price of 1.....cmon
60k is an appropriate price for that vehicle and even then they are making a profit.....it just doesn't cost much too add the features it has

Just bought a 2021 Tradesmen here in Idaho last Saturday and they are more than 60k sticker price.
And depending on the options they can be pretty expensive. You sure don't get the Air Suspension upgrade for free!! Lol
@@jamesglenn520 you pay 10k for diesel but where is the credit received for 6.4l standard motor?.....even small diesel in 1500 is only $1000 upcharge for GM now.....if you received credit for 6.4l maybe 3-4k is fair.....I dont need a diesel but sucks for guys who do

Not a bad way to see alaska, I want to do it myself! Supposedly it can save you almost 10,000 on the State ferry because they charge by the length so if you drove an RV expect to pay a huge chunk of money to get Alaska versus the 3500 6.7 Ram which probably is easier to resell once your done ✅

I'd rather just spend a little more for the freightliner m2 summit hauler that transwest does. That's my fav heavy hitter. For the farm I'll just go with a tradesman or wait and get one of these used for half the price.
About the sickest and fanciest dually I've ever seen. Like YACHT FANCY! Ram really came along way with fancy looks. And of course I've been a Ford and Ram fan before fancy looks were their middle name of the high dollar trims.

It's made to have weight loaded on it. The ride won't be as rough once you put a 5th wheel back there.

So true bought the bottom of the line 2017 Ram 2500 tradesman 6.7 Cummins which was $5,000.00 cheaper than the sport 1500. So yeah I know I got more value for my money. Mind you the sport 1500 was stickered at 57,000. I don’t need leather and all the stupid electronics to do everything for me. But I did get every option the 2500 tradesman offered for less. See ya in a million miles.
Daniel Laze yeah it’s all work on the inside. But when she’s washed and waxed with all the chrome and delmonico red (a deep cherry red) she’s real flashy. Never have I gotten so many compliments on a vehicle especially from the ladies. Lol it’s only a tradesman package! And it’s got the hand shaker 6spd manual which is no longer available as of 2019.
Evil Mofo the body trim packages from cheapest to expensive are Tradesman, Bighorn, Laramie, Rebel(1500), Powerwagon(2500), Laramie Longhorn, Limited. Trust me the Tradesman are under 58,000

This is the Nicest PU on the market for Towing Ford and GM arn’t even close to RAM but if you want the Limited go in with a “CERTIFIED” check for $ 81,000 I guarantee they will sell the truck on the spot . If they say no or want to haggle start to walk to the door.

It’s smart that ram put back up alarm but I think it should only be a feature on tow packages. Makes sense because your backing up long trailer. For just driving truck alone with a back up alarm it can get annoying. It is a big truck. I like and don’t like it I guess lol
I had a 2018 Ram 3500 Mega Cab and it was an awesome truck, however the Nexus tires on it was terrible. You pay 90k for a truck it better come with Goodyears or Michelins....

After the warranty is done and the emissions system has caused engine problems you have a repair bill the price of the truck. As far as I know these things can’t be bulletproofed.

If you think that's loud, you should hear my 1999 model! My wife says it sounds like a garbage truck. And it's falling apart and they quit making parts for it three years ago, so we are screwed. The engine has just 136,000 miles and the damn thing is falling apart.
That is really low miles. So either the truck is not driven much and sits or it has lived a life of Short commuting.
Either one is the Hardest thing in the world on a vehicle.

Hey atleast you dont have to pay 148511USD for a 1500 Laramie thats what it costs here in Australia with only the option of a 5.7 or a 6.7 cummins all only optioned as auto with no gear lock(manual shifter buttons)
