Thank’s so much! While I am not sure, my guess is that it comes to market research reasons. This configuration is primarily used for towing machinery/campers/boats/etc., things where multiple people would use them so a larger cab is usually specced where as the bed is usually used for hauling material, tools, etc. things where less people are involved so people who need a long bed are more likely to spec a smaller cab. This is what I’ve been told from other manufacturers but not from Stellantis, but I am assuming the same principles apply
Update on the truck - its been great so far! A minor problem with the tire pressure monitoring system that was totally covered under warranty. It gets about 16.2 MPG on average for us not towing. I love the truck!

Pity the dealer, didn't let them take it for a drive, they should've let them take it for a spin, there so many reviews of the smaller versions and never the dually mega cab. Next time please overlook the video when annoying co-workers from this dealer walk next to the truck, to delete and start over to film. Great job and keep up the good work!

I absolutely Loved this video! The only thing I can really say is you didn't test drive it. If you test driven it I would have known what all the gauge tell you, how much miles I need to refill the def fluid, and etc. But overall, very nice video!!!

I love the looking of the truck and Im considering add a new truck to my fleet, I have F450’s and are AMAZING, but I want to get a RAM as well, i like the looking of the short bed, but can you tow big trailers with it ? I tow 50f long 26.000 pounds weight and My concern is the turn ratio because of that short bed, can someone guve me theri opinion please ? Thank you
You didn’t mention the Aisin transmission, which is a VERY key option for some. Also, I’m 6’0’. Can a person really sleep in the mega cab area comfortably? My only knock against Ram is their lack of 2-tone paint options for the exterior. Not too fond of the factory tires either.

Fun Channel! my understanding from talking to those in the industry is that it comes down to market research. Those who get larger beds tend to be more focused on pulling and don’t need the larger bed which would be more difficult to drive with and expensive. However, smaller cabs tend to be used more for hauling and work. Hope this helps! -Jake
A \ Mega Cab and a long box would be pretty long. The Mega Cab box is what I call a short box, but the long cab makes it look extra short, and I think the wide flared box and dual wheels add to the perceived length. I like the Mega Cab, but the long box is more important to me.
The short bed looks ugly with the megacab, give us a megacab with a long bed ram, im sure they are regulated somehow but this does not look right, crew cab long bed all day
The lens through which you show this truck, and others, I presume, distorts the images too much for my liking. Not complaining here, just an observation. Why show off such great trucks when your camera technique is so poor. Just sayin.

Your only getting 16.2 I'm getting 20 mpg. What I don't understand is if you google it. It says your average mpg is 14 mpg.

The 2020 3500 RAM I'm looking at is a Mega Cab as well but it has a way longer bed. Why does this one have a smaller bed?

A crew cab dually would be better with big trailers, there's a risk of hitting the cab with a big trailer on a tight turn
