Midas is not a full service shop like GoodYear or Firestone Auto Center. I would not have them do a cam or an intercooler. But to do a pulley swap or exhaust work does not take much knowledge to cars. Just shop around find some mechanic that is knowledgable and is a car guy who loves modding cars. That is your guy. pull him to the side and ask for help for cash. let me know if you have anymore questions.
I want to do full size intercooler but it would be to expensive and i would have to modify my hood and cut stuff out to get it to fit zzp has a short stack ic that requires no modifications to fit for 650 and would do install for 500 im assuming they would install it right and i have heard good things about zzp and they are only an hour away from my house im hoping to be close to around 400 crank hp after ic 3.2 pulley and dynotune

doesn't take much money to get started here the stage 2 kit for around $600 for your car and adds 40 hp power you will feel. Its on zzp web site under 3800 stage kits great deal. All of my mods were done at firestone complete auto car center there just basic bult on. good luck and I think its great that you maintain your car so well great to see that.
I am running CNC ported heads with 130lb valve spring. Timing is advanced 23* and AF/R is 11.4. Im pretty sure this is what he timing and af/r are but I did not tune my car ZZP did. This what my dyno sheet says though.
The mods i have right now are 3.5 mps, wizaired cold air intake with k&n filter, zzp powerlog, downpipe and ported rear manifold, overkill pcm, 1.9 rockers with crow cam #105 springs, autolite 104 plugs with 10.5 mm wires, 180 stat, zzp high velocity throttle body, thrush welded mufflers.
That suck first replace thermostat if that does not work replace water pump if still over heating replace radiator. Also make sure you have not coolant in your oil. good luck?
Yes stock internals. No I do not have the car. I sold it 4 years ago then the person I sold it to totalled the car. The motor was taken out and put in another car 2 years ago. As far as i know it's still running. I ran car with a 3.3 pulley and low boost. I never had any problems with it.

I did a dyno tune. So $50 to strap down and $25 per pull I think. Dont quote me but some thing close to that. This is all done on the dyno so they can reach higher speeds to see where they can move your shift points and see were timimg can be added or removed to eliminate kr. For the most hp gains for your mods and your car.
My dad always had these cars growing up. 1998-2004 GTP's. Such a sleeper. The guy next to you has no idea that you have a supercharged 3.8 right next to him. I learned to drive on the 2000 or 2001 GTP at 16 y.o. First car I ever drove and loved getting punched into the seat on the highway.

do not buy a gxp. not worth it. I would keep your gt and put a turbo on it. ZZP sells z7 turbo kits and statama turbo kits. adds over 100 whp and up to 250 whp with cam and heads. or sell it and buy a gtp put basic mods on it then xp cam with stage 3 cnc heads. Grand Prix GT wit a turbo is way better gas milage;-) good luck

You will need to tune it right away. Zzp can put a base tune on it. To make sure it's safe to drive. Then you can break it in and go get it dyno tune if that is what you are looking to do.
Yes your correct rockers or cam unless your going really custom on cam and rods. If you do an intercooler do the full stack intercooler not the short. with all the fluid that runs there the intercooler there is a lot of places you could have a leak. If the core goes bad fluid from intercooler can be sucked up through the lower intake. Your pump could go bad. Im not trying to scare you its just maintence and taking your time to install right.
Good choice on the full size intercooler. I would not port you blower unless you were going to do new typhalon roters as well. by that time just do a rebuilt genV. good luck your going to have some fun!!

I already have rockers thats why i would do an intercooler what kind of maintnence do intercoolers require? Im pretty sure you cant have 1.9 rockers and cam at the same time
John Nuer I have not had any problems besides wheel bearing and normal maintenance. The rans did go out on it at 145,000 miles. It was original from factory. As long as you keep up on maintenance it will do fine.

hey why didnt you go e 85 i have the same year and am looking to go e85 next since i have my xp cam in i think for 05 you have to drop the tank since theres no access panel
When a car is not native to e85 there is lots of tuning and you can not switch back to premium fuel after tune is e85. E85 starts harder and runs rougher. Now I have a 2011 buick regal that runs e85, and this car has an eternal sensor that tells my computer how much alcohol is in the gas. So your computer is already set up for it. Its way more convenient.
Heavier spring to shift harder and quicker (ZZP shift kit) and raised pressure with tune. Really its stock trans lasted 157,000 miles than it was redone. Hopefully this helps.

I was at 340 whp with a cam, heads and full stack intercooler. so you will not want reach your goal of 400 crank hp with those mods. where do you live?

Ya not bad unless they find problems or your setup is not right so they have you modifie it. Sounds like yo have a good start. With a 99 gtp gen 3 setup with the mods you plan on doing I would say you could drop to a 3.2 pulley with a good tune!!

Typhalon coated rotor found on Gen V Eaton blowers. this will come on all rebuilt gen 3 superchargers from zzp. I do not think the Northstar throttle body will fit your car. Especially with you have fly by wire throttle body(wireless throttle body).
I run full synthetic motor oil takes 30 sec for the motor to reach all internal parts of the engine. it was 93 degrees that day. my car was already at 108 degrees when i shot the video. the gage was low not flat bottom. If it was like 60 degrees i would of waited longer.

this was my daily driver. When a car is not native to ethenal it runs rough and is hard to tune. I live in michigan so e85 is not always 85% ethenal sometimes its 70%.

+Connar Downes you probably have a rebuilt transmission and the TCU has never been programmed to the ECU. that would be my guess. I would email some one from Triple Edge Transmission they would know for sure.

My stopwatch said 0-60 in 5.8 and that is respectable as hell
I think you need to clock that again. He was holding the brake so don't look at rpm , watch the speedometer movement. Closer to 5 flat

I had 6.98" compcam push rods. I think more common to run 7.00" zzp push.

+Connar Downes you probably have a rebuilt transmission and the TCU has never been programmed to the ECU. that would be my guess. I would email some one from Triple Edge Transmission they would know for sure.
